A sneak peek at an upcoming episode of the new audio drama anthology from Bill Meeks.

Meet the Special family, a theater-loving, stoner couple and their three very different kids. It’s 1994, and Michael and Jennifer Special are just trying to help fund in the arts in their community, but their son Ricky is on the run from a school bully, and their daughter Zara is betting everything on a plan to start the school year as a popular girl. With a mix of '90s nostalgia, sitcom homages, and a healthy dose of humor, "Welcome, Freshmen" will teach you the joys of scented oxygen, the perils of Crystal Pepsi, and why you should never trust a math teacher to do "creative accounting" for the arts. Equal parts funny, smart, and a little messed up, just like Everly Heights itself.

Aviva’s song “Cannabis Car” is part protest song, part groovy jam, that teaches the listener about the history of hemp in our country, and all the ways it can help the environment today. Connor is best known for his work at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade improv school and theater in NYC, but you might have seen him on Last Week Tonight, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, or as a 35-year-old Presidential candidate on The Chris Gethard Show. Expertly staged and foolishly named, Connor's "Talk-A-Doodle-Doo" was broadcast on MNN earlier this year as part of Chris Gethard Presents. It's a real piece of theater that keeps you guessing for the whole hour. Plus, Connor sheds light on what he's moving towards, and its a limited series with familiar trappings.

The Fox Kids Club was a local broadcast in many cities that promoted the Fox Network’s early-90s cartoon lineup, Fox Kids. Karen Kay was my local host, and when I’m not fanboying out, she tells me what it was like to be a kid show host, and how much persistence it took to build a career in broadcasting. Plus, Karen makes a commitment to locate a relic from my past, if she can remember where she put it in her basement.
