One moment I'm present, the next moment I'm somewhere in the past or I jump to the future (I'm like a mental Doctor Who).</p><p><br></p><p>Sometimes I'm in the past, present, and future at the same time (work that one out).</p><p><br></p><p>Anyway, in this particular instance, I found myself about 28 years in the past. I was remembering a friend I haven't seen since our Infantry Officers Basic Course. And it occurred to me that in the present, I only know this person as they were in the past.</p><p><br></p><p>Then I suddenly became aware that I know "myself" - the "I" that is "me" as seen through the filter of a past "self."
