<![CDATA[One of our favorite Christmas movies is Its a Wonderful Life, where George Bailey gets a chance to see what an alternate reality looks like without him in it. Spoiler alert, George does not want to live in that alternate reality, especially since his wife, for some inexplicable reason, didn't get married despite being very attractive and having many pursuers (seems like Sam Wainwright would have snatched her up in a heartbeat.....watch the movie if I've lost you.....and shame on you if you haven't seen it). Another Christmas favorite is the Family Man starring Nicholas Cage as Jack Campbell, a very successful business man. Same type of idea, Jack is given the opportunity to live in an alternate reality, but in this case he likes it and wants to stay. Much like George and Jack, alternative investments give all of us a glimpse of alternate worlds. However, too many stories of people venturing into these alternative investments end up like George Bailey, they want out and want back to the investments they had before. Listen in, as we discuss many of the alternative investments out there, how to vet those investments to protect yourself, and diversify and uncorrelate your investment portfolio. That way you can be like Jack Campbell not George Bailey. ]]>

<![CDATA[This will be the funnest episode you have ever listened to from us......because we have a prize to give away. I'm serious!! We are talking about ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds) and we have come up with a contest for the month of December, in which the winner, one of our listeners, will win a pair of Apple Pod Pros (or $200 if Apple products don't float your boat). It won't be hard to participate I promise. Its an investing contest with fake money, like Monopoly. You will be given a fake $1,000,000 and all you have to do is pick the best 5 investments for month of December and you win. Here is what you have to do, 1. Email us at support@myprosperteam.com and include the following 2. Your Name (see how easy this is) 3. Your picks for the 5 ETFs that you want have as your portfolio. Any 5 you want....WITH the corresponding percentages you want those 5 ETFs to be investing. (20% invested into one ETF would equal $200,000, makes sense....if not reread that sentence, or email us and we can help you) 4. We also want you to pick an investment name for yourself. Nothing crude, racist, homophobic, or just not nice. Make it fun. Like if you work in construction, your name could be Building Sector Investor. Got it? 5. Go to our Instagram page, tyandrypodcast, and like our post about the contest. We need all of this by November 30th because we will start the contest beginning morning bell December 1st and end closing bell December 31st. Ty and myself (Ryan) will also participate and whomever wins just between us, will get to shame, publicly, the other one on the podcast. Get rollin everyone and get us your info!!!!! May be best investor win!!! ]]>

</itunes:summary>

But somehow it is worth money. My 17 year-old mind short circuited thinking about it. Now that I have less dumb mind, I feel like I can comprehend what a stock is. Ty, the guru of finance, and I will walk you through the life of a stock. How are they created? What stages do they go through? What the basics of understanding a stocks value? This, my friend, is a great beginning step to understanding the world of stocks. By no means is this all you will ever need to know, but think of this as Stocks 101. ]]>

We came very close to having to sell Ryan Seacrest to China to pay our debts. The Great Recession infected every corner of the economy and every person's life. Yeah, it was bad. We are roughly 14 years removed, but have we learned enough from the past? Let us help you sort it out. ]]>

<![CDATA[In the words of George Washington, "Those that don't learn from the past, it will come back to bite you in the ass." In part 1 of this mini series we revisit everyone's favorite time period, the turn of the millenium. Remember when Y2k was going to down airplanes, stop the power grid, and usher in a real life version of Mad Max? Turns out, clocks had no problem turning from 1999 to 2000. But what we didn't see coming, Dot com companies going bankrupt because they weren't actually making any money. Who knew? Yes, we got Amazon and Ebay from it, but do you recall, Flooze.com, or Webvan? We break this down and review some of the most tasty tidbits from the Dot Com meltdown. ]]>

<![CDATA[Who hasn't fantasized about having a sports almanac and going back in time so you can make money from knowing the future? We all fantasize about it, but Biff Tannon did it (if you are in the 35-55 age range you should get this reference). In this episode we discuss the different ways you will want to think about how to structure your investment strategy. Do you want to try and predict like Biff Tannon, or will you be more on the Gordan Ramsey side in which its impossible to predict the market so don't try (Look we know Gordan is a famous chef and likely doesn't understand the efficient market theory, he is just a stand in, a place holder if you will). So where are you? How should you do it? Tune in and find out. ]]>

<![CDATA[Even if you don't like Star Wars or know who Betsy Roth is, you will like this podcast. If you have a retirement account, or wish you had one (trust me, you fit into one of those categories) you have to listen. There will be references to Will Smith, Bob Marley, the wild west, and Minotaurs. You may be asking, how is that possible? Well, that's the magic of what we do. Also, there are discussions about retirement accounts and how to make them work better, but...Minotaurs. Don't miss it. ]]>

<![CDATA[We have so much to talk about that we thought, let's do a podcast, and make a permanent record of our knowledge. Makes sense, right? Trust us, we don't have big egos....I mean, would someone with a big ego record their thoughts because they think everyone will want to listen to them? Exactly!! We will introduce ourselves, briefly (see....small egos), then we will bust out our first market mini, a brief weekly report on the world/market/money/investing/stocks/whether or not you should drink yourself to death or you can have a good nights sleep. After that, if you are still with us, we will give you some teasers on upcoming episodes. Sorry, you will have to listen to future pods to get the detes (slang for details, people). Look, we know what you are thinking, why? Why would I listen to them? I know, we have asked that question ourselves....about ourselves. And you know what, some questions are best left unanswered. Just let go of the mysteries of life, listen and enjoy. ]]>
