In Trifriend Heroes, we’ll discuss not just the history, graphics, sound, and gameplay of each game, but the mythology and stories of Hyrule as well, as we play through the Zelda series.

Trifriend heroes is hosted by Stay Together Network’s Ellen, Kayla, and Kassem—hosts of Equivalent Exchange: a Fullmetal Alchemist podcast, and Let’s Stay Together: a Fruits Basket podcast. Episode 1: The Legend of Zelda & Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

In this game, Ganon has taken over the land of Hyrule, stolen the royal treasure, the triforce of power, and captured Princess Zelda. We play Link, as he collects the broken triforce of wisdom, gains strength, and conquers Gannon.

Today, we’re also discussing the next game in the series, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, in which Hyrule is in trouble once again. Zelda is under a sleeping spell, and Link must collect crystals from across the land to unseal the third triforce.

Episode 14: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

In Breath of The Wild, Link awakens to a world of chaos—Calamity Ganon has taken over the seat of Hyrule, and the Divine Beasts, great machines created to stop Ganon, have gone haywire, unable to be controlled. Link must return the Divine Beasts to the people of Hyrule’s control, recover memories from his past, recover his strength, and the master sword in order to finally stop Calamity Ganon and save Princess Zelda, who has been holding Ganon back while he slept safely for 100 years.
