Is Biological Sex Outdated? Offensive? ...HARMFUL?

While the terms "male sex" and "female sex" have long held practical function and purpose in medical fields, they are increasingly just stupid and outdated.

They are holding us back.

When we look at the fleshy bits that make up a person's genitals, we really have no idea whether we are looking at a penis, a vagina, or something else entirely. Not until we talk to the person. The individual.

Just so, I am a woman. I have a woman's body. I have always had a woman's body. To tell me that any part of my body has ever been a man's is offensive. It is wrong. It is evil.

When medical needs force us to disclose our trans backgrounds, can we rely on doctors to act as allies?

When those doctors betray us, can we rely on the health industry itself to react with compassion for victims and consequence for perpetrators?

When that system instead empowers those doctors and silences their victims, can we at least turn to the public for help building a better way forward?

In today’s main story, a sexual assault survivor’s testimony alleges that the Michigan Medical Board’s lack of action continues to empower future sexual assaults by the same doctor treating patients with trans medical backgrounds.

What you permit, you promote. What you promote, you empower.

We need the resources to fight back.

But despite the loudest voices from the right, most parents are decent people who support their children regardless of their gender or lack of gender. That’s in part why recent research into trans children ages 3–12 provided such clarifying insights on how to support our kids.

As far as ratings go, Fox News is #1.

Despite its clever branding claiming otherwise, Fox News Channel (FNC) is far and away the most popular mainstream cable news network. Since its inception in 1996, the channel has grown bigger, and bigger, and bigger.

But in 2012, a much-publicized study revealed a shocking crack in the Faux News facade.

NOTE: There were five-ish (2011, 2012, 2016, 2020, and a case study of the 2020 study)

“Examples of society-oriented knowledge included whether unemployment had gotten better or worse over the past year, whether Barack Obama was a Muslim, and whether the world’s temperature had been slowly increasing over the past 100 years.” — Consuming content from Fox News is associated with decreased knowledge of science and society

“I’ve spoken about this before, but if you watch Fox News, you perceive a different reality than if you read The New York Times.
