Sinan Kanatsiz has spent three decades building businesses, relationships and communities — but his approach starts with something surprisingly simple: connect with the person before you ever think about the transaction.

In this episode of The San Clemente Podcast, Sinan joins Jeff Moore and Brian de la Puente to talk about building KCOMM from the ground up, knocking on doors for his first clients, developing a relationship with Palmer Luckey, why confidence and listening matter, and why supporting what matters to someone is one of the best ways to build real relationships. He also gets into the future of North Beach, his connection to San Clemente, mental and physical health, his relationship with alcohol, opening The Nice Guy in Orange County, an unexpected move into bare-knuckle boxing, and the evolution of IMA and IMPACT.

Underneath all of it is a conversation about staying open to opportunity, investing in people, taking care of yourself and recognizing that some of the biggest things in life rarely happen according to plan.

Subscribe for more conversations with the people shaping San Clemente.

Scott Muir is a former Division 1 soccer player at the Air Force Academy, a 12-year Air Force pilot, husband, dad, surfer, and San Clemente local with one of the most powerful stories we’ve heard on the podcast.

In this episode, Scott sits down with Jeff Moore and Brian de la Puente to talk about growing up through sports, playing soccer at the Air Force Academy, pilot training, marriage, fatherhood, and the day a surf accident at DMJ’s changed his life. Scott walks through the moment he realized he was paralyzed face down in the water, the young surfer named Judah who pulled him out, the recovery process that followed, and what it has taken to relearn everything from walking to surfing.

But this episode is bigger than the accident. It’s about mindset, marriage, community, the people who show up when life gets heavy, and how one moment in the water turned into a story of survival, gratitude, and family.
