Ben Satterlee also known as the “Nashville Drum Coach” is a drum instructor and studio musician based in Nashville, TN. 

Drawn to the drums at an early age after seeing the drummer in Church, it was only a matter of time before Ben became obsessed. After being gifted a beginner drum set when he was 12, he started gigging shortly after and the rest they say is history. Touring and teaching from the age of 19, he has played all over the US as well as Canada and Mexico. He was an original drum instructor for 180drums.com and had a groove of his featured in Stanton Moore’s Dvd “Groove Alchemy” which won Best Instructional DVD Modern Drummer magazine in 2011. 

After touring out of Nashville for 7 years, Ben decided to come off the road and focus on building up his teaching and home studio work. He’s also done over 20 local “Fun With Drums” kids events in Nashville area libraries. He’s very active on Instagram and is passionate about inspiring the next generation to pursue the arts.

Travis McNabb (born November 18, 1969) is an American drummer and percussionist. McNabb is perhaps best known as a longtime member of the band Better Than Ezra, although he has performed session and touring work with many acts during his career. Prior to joining Better Than Ezra in January 1996, McNabb toured with acts such as Vigilantes of Love, Beggars, and seminal Oregon-based punk rock band The Wipers. Since mid-2007, he has been the full-time touring drummer with Grammy-award winning Country/Bluegrass act Sugarland.

Georgia native Eric Pritchard is currently the drummer and bandleader for rising country star Megan Moroney. Eric shares with us his journey back to his high school years where he was classmates with Megan, to moving to Nashville and playing their 1st Whiskey Jam together — the band has never looked back. Since the arrival of “Tennessee Orange,” Moroney has achieved such milestones as making her debut at the Grand Ole Opry and selling out her first-ever headline run (the spring 2023 Pistol Made of Roses tour). Luis Espaillat is a multi-faceted bassist and musician whose career has spanned many genres and taken him around the world. His sense and respect for the art of the song itself has made him in demand for many songwriters and producers not only in Nashville, but also Los Angeles and New York City. On the stage, Luis has performed with country stars Jon Pardi, Brett Eldredege (for his big band Christmas tours), Lee Ann Womack, Jo Dee Messina, Ty Herndon, Lee Greenwood, Trace Adkins, Jamie O'Neal, Jimmy Wayne, Lindsay Ell, and Pam Tillis, legendary singer/songwriters such as Gavin DeGraw and Jim Messina, rockers such as Tom Keifer of Cinderella, Tantric, The Guess Who, Tony Harnell and Bo Bice, progressive instrumentalist like Johnny Hiland, and even artists that defy normal convention such as country rappers Cowboy Troy and Colt Ford, just to name a few.

Born and raised in Columbus Ohio, Matt caught the music bug early. When he was 7 years old, a friend’s father was in the entertainment business. Hanging out at rehearsals and on the tour buses sold Matt on the idea of being a musician, or at the very least, a drummer. All this lead to spending his high school years at Fort Hayes vocational school for music and Capital University Conservatory of Music for college studying under drum instructor Bob Breithaupt.

The musical diversity in Columbus gave Matt the chance to play with many great players and learning many different styles – from Big Band (Vaughn Weister’s Famous Jazz Orchestra) and Brazilian to Afro-Cuban and Fusion. All the while, he was doing his share of gigs with original rock bands and top 40 bands.

Matt moved to Nashville in the summer of 1999. Working as a freelance drummer based in Nashville has taken him to all 50 states in the U.S. and most of Canada, as well as overseas to Europe, Asia, The Middle East and The Caribbean.

As well as the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Matt has performed in great local venues like the Ryman Auditorium, Mercy Lounge, 3rd and Lindsley, The 5 Spot, The Sutler, The Basement, The Wildhorse Saloon, and many clubs on lower Broadway. 

Matt has toured both regionally and nationally, with the Adam and Shannon Wright, Mark Selby, Eddy Raven, Billy Dean, Stephen Simmons, Three Lane, Whiskey Cash & Roses, Michelle Wright - (throughout Canada), Julie Roberts, and The Frontmen of Country which is Larry Stewart of Restless Heart, Richie McDonald of Lonestar, Tim Rushlow of Little Texas.

From 2009 to 2017 Matt was the full time drummer for the band Savannah Jack. He played percussion on their first studio record in 2010 opposite Steve Ferrone on drums. For their second studio record in 2015, Matt was the drumset and percussion player in the studio.

In the studio, Matt has had the pleasure of working with talented producers including Eric Fritsch, Teddy Morgan, Jim Reilley and Brent Maher. Artist he's recorded with in the studio have included Sheryl Crow, legendary songwriter Buzz Cason and actor Kevin Costner.

In 2015, Matt started a podcast for drummers called "Working Drummer", an interview based podcast that maintains a focus on the drummer that makes a living at his or her craft. After college, Gibbs emerged as a drummer while playing with pop/rock band Hot Celle Rae.  He then went on to become an independent drummer to soak in all the music he could.  During this time he met tons of musicians, bands and artists, cut his teeth on the grind of Broadway bars and “honky tonks,” and jumped in a van for a random show in Montana.  He loved every minute of it.

In 2013, his hard work paid off when Gibbs successfully auditioned for CMA-nominated Duo of the Year, Love and Theft, and hit the road for the busiest year of his life thus far.  It hasn’t slowed down for him since.  From touring, live TV performances, music videos and award shows, Gibbs has kept himself quite busy.

Gibbs is currently playing with 2017 CMA New Artist of the Year nominee Lauren Alaina, and continues to find other ways to fill in the occasional off day with sessions, shows, and housework.  If there is an example of hard work, passion, and preparation paying off, McCoy Gibbs is that example.

Adam Box is an American drummer, best known for his work with the country duo Brothers Osborne for the past 11 years. Box started playing drums at church in his hometown of Zero, Mississippi, in a church band that covered contemporary rock songs with Christian lyrics. He later entered a battle of the bands in Starkville, Mississippi and formed a band called Absence of Concern, which opened for Bob Seger at a concert in Jackson, Mississippi. Box later met Chris Ethridge, a bassist who had played in The Flying Burrito Brothers, through a mutual friend, and Ethridge served as Box's mentor.Box is in the road band for the duo Brothers Osborne, and played on most all of their albums and hit singles.

Myers attended Elmhurst College from 1995 – 1999 where he was a music major and the drummer in the Elmhurst College Jazz Band. Under director Doug Beach, the Elmhurst College Jazz Band played gigs in the U.S. and Internationally at events such as the Umbria Jazz Festival, Jakarta Jazz Festival and the Montreaux Jazz Festival.

In 2001 Myers enrolled in DePaul University where he earned his master’s degree in jazz drumming and was a member of the Rob Parton Orchestra.  In addition to his involvement in school bands, Myers was playing in festivals with a variety of jazz artists such as Nicholas Payton, Diane Schuur, Randy Brecker, Dennis DiBlasio as well as local musicians Mark Colby and John McLean.  Myers also was a member of Chicago jazz fusion band Kick the Cat. 

Myers began playing drums for progressive-rock band Umphrey’s McGee in 2003 following the departure of original drummer Mike Mirro. With Myers at the helm, Umphrey’s has released ten albums and maintains a rigorous touring schedule of over 100 live shows per year.  Umphrey’s has performed at legendary festivals and venues such as Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Fuji Rock Festival, South by Southwest, Red Rocks, The Ryman Theatre, The Beacon Theatre and more.

With Umphrey’s, Myers has shared the stage with countless notable musicians such as Buddy Guy, Huey Lewis, Ivan Neville, Les Claypool, Stephen Perkins, Mike Keneally, Joshua Redman, Bela Fleck, Taj Mahal, Victor Wooten, Adrian Belew, Stanley Jordan, Gene Ween, Derek Trucks and Jason Bonham.

In 2011 Myers was honored with the title of Best Jam Band Drummer by DRUM Magazine, beating jamband stalwarts such as Butch Trucks (The Allman Brothers) and Jon Fishman (Phish). In 2018, Myers was featured on the cover of Modern Drummer’s July issue. Myers placed second in the Experimental Rock category of the publication’s “Readers Poll Awards” behind St. Vincent drummer Matt Johnson.

When he’s not behind the drum kit, Myers enjoys playing golf, attending concerts, hiking and collecting art.

A best-selling drum set author, Joe has won four Modern Drummer Readers Poll awards for his drum books, including best drum book of 2013 for Neil Peart: Taking Center Stage. In 2023 he wrote GADD: A Life in Time, the authorized musical biography of Steve Gadd, under Gadd’s supervision and with his extensive involvement. He is also the author of The Working Drummer’s Chart Book, Stewart Copeland: Drumming in The Police and Beyond, Drum Techniques of Led Zeppelin, and several other books. As the Senior Drum Editor for Hudson Music since 2009, Joe has worked closely with many of the world’s greatest drummers, acting as editor on books with Steve Gadd, David Garibaldi, Steve Smith, Liberty DeVitto, Mark Guiliana, Tommy Igoe, Stanton Moore, Todd Sucherman, and many others.

In 2007, Joe co-founded the publishing company Wizdom Media LLC with his late teacher and friend Dom Famularo,  and continues to run the company. Their books are distributed physically by Alfred Music and digitally by Hudson Music. Since 2015, Joe has also been Education Consultant for Sabian, designing and directing the Sabian Education Network for drum teachers.

Recognized internationally as an educator, Joe has given hundreds of drum clinics in schools, retail stores, and conventions. Lee was the Musical Director/Drummer for Bad Bunny on the Ultimo Tour Del Mundo US/Canadian Arena tour and has previously toured/performed with Barry Gibb/BeeGees, Luis Fonsi, Ricky Martin, Christopher Cross, Julio Iglesias, and Jon Secada. Although mostly known as a studio session player, Lee continues to be  co-musical director for the Latin GRAMMY house band on the telecast.   Besides TV and award shows, he has performed Classical and Jazz concerts, including the World Premier of the Elvis Costello/Twyla Tharp Ballet, “Nightspot”.
