Some things are easier to carry than to talk about.

The worries.
The grief.
The questions.
The expectations.
The experiences that shape us.
The parts we hide.

The Parts We Hide is a podcast where evidence meets lived experience - honest conversations about the things we often carry quietly.

Hosted by Victoria Braithwaite and Dr Pennie Taylor APD, we explore health, wellbeing, relationships, resilience, identity and the realities of being human.

Pennie brings decades of experience across dietetics, nutrition, health and research science. Victoria brings lived experience, community connection, food education and nearly a decade of working closely with individuals and families through The Family Cook.

We come to the conversation from different places, and that’s the point. One of us might bring the evidence, the other the question people are thinking but haven’t said out loud. Sometimes we’re the experts. Sometimes we’re the ones learning. And sometimes our own experiences become part of the conversation too.

Together with our guests, we create space for conversations that are informed, curious, candid and human, without pretending there is always a neat answer.

Because the parts we hide are often the parts that connect us.

An Accredited Practising Dietitian, researcher and author, Pennie spent 18 years as a research scientist with CSIRO and is now Director of 360ME Nutrition and Director of Clinical Translation at VivaLab.
