Isaac Sturm (’17) comes from a long line of Duhawks. From his parents to two siblings and his high school sweetheart, now wife, the Sturm Family is filled with Duhawks. His mother, and long-time Loras accounting professor Karen (Gonner) Sturm (’80), wanted to make sure Isaac found the place he wanted to call home for the next four years so with the help of Iowa Private College Week and a Casey’s Gas Incentive, the Sturms toured over 13 schools that week, with all roads leading back home: Loras College. Learn about the lessons Isaac learned as well as continues to teach his students and players that make him our February 2024 Duhawk Dozen.

Andy Ney (’14) has built an impressive career in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and it started long before graduating from Loras College. From growing up with his father and mother as strong role models as they created Paramount Ambulance, to helping mold the family business to what it is today. Andy is a life-long, active learner who continues to give back to not only Loras and the local Dubuque area, but EMS industry as a whole. All this and more makes him our November Duhawk Dozen.
