The Torchy’s boys are back after a long absence to ride, do some hard drugs and reminisce with a legendary gunfighter. We join Bill, Jane and array of Walter Hill regulars as he struggles to keep a hold on his addictions, his women, his struggling eyesight and his past catching up to him. This features Jeff Bridges as the titular Wild Bill, Ellen Barkin, James Gammon, David Arquette, John Hurt and James Remar. 

iris and Gary sit down with some skunk beer and some fried chicken to tell a tale about deplorable people. After a family hires a crooked cop to kill a hated relative, they endure psychological and physical trauma all in the pursuit of minimal riches and a whole lot of tragedy. Ricky and Gary were late to release this one because we have been getting our chakras in order. We have been training hard with these crazy monks learning our ball handling skills. When a rag tag team of former monks get an opportunity at glory on the soccer field, they use their mystical powers to battle the opposition and beat Team Evil in gravity defying fashion. This stars the great Steven Chow who is the star of Kung Fu Hustle. Put on your busted cleats and light your smoke. No red cards allowed in this match. 

Iris, Suzanne and Gary are back and we’re feeling furry with excitement. On this one, we talk about the horned up exploits of sexy shapeshifters. When a troubled couple go hang with other white folks in the woods, they soon discover that their getaway houses a legion of werewolves in The Howling. Next up, you get horned up cat people looking for love and life forces in the Stephen King scribed Mick Garris directed Sleepwalkers. 

Cameron and Gary are on this one and they tackle a gem here. Typical story. Family goes out into space and finds a wreckage. They take on the last survivor who they nurse back to life. Little do they know that their new boarder is looking for love and possibly a whole lot of bloodshed. Richard Grieco, Corbin Bernsen and Edie McClurg star in this installment of Roger Corman’s long line of horror and sci-fi films he did for Showtime. Take your protein pills and put your condom on. It’s gonna get weird. 

Ricky and Gary ride their motorcars straight into the past apocalypse as we start our loving tribute to our friend Johnny with these shows. We start is out with a bang and a boob (just one) with Joe D’Amato dipping his toes into the illustrious world of the Mad Max rip-off 2020 Texas Gladiators aka Endgame from 1983.

The Torchy’s boys are back to discuss a favorite of Gary’s but a first time watch for one of us with the motor-driven, leather clad, two-fisted rock and roll fable from Streets Of Fire from 1984. This tells the tale of Tom Cody (Michael Pare) who is an ex-soldier who is called back home to rescue his ex-girlfriend (Diane Lane) when she is kidnapped by The Bombers who are a ruthless biker gang led by Raven Shaddock. (Willem Dafoe) Along with her shady manager (Rick Moranis) and a street smart mercenary (Amy Madigan), they shoot and burn their way through to make it home for a final showdown. We talk about many things including Muppets on this edition that will have you sweating buckets without being hot. 

We are a literal chain of fools on the latest edition. Iris and Gary are joined by Jerry Cortez aka Mr. Venom to discuss two films where prisoners are on the run and chained together. When two inmates escape from a prison transport, they are forced to fight opposition and their own racial tensions. Sidney Poitier and Tony Curtis star in The Defiant Ones. Then, Pam Grier and Margaret Markov make a run from their abusive and very hot prison digs to plot against a slimy pimp/drug kingpin and possibly start a revolution. We get two days in the hotbox with our review of Black Mama, White Mama from 1973.

The Torchy’s boys head to California for this installment when we cover the flick that boomed the buddy cop genre into high gear with 48 Hours. Nick Nolte is a hard nosed cop who’s dealing with two escaped baddies. He needs the help of Reggie Hammond (Eddie Murphy) to find these cop killers and have some animosity and laughs along the way. This film brings back Walter Hill alums James Remar, Sonny Landham, Peter Jason and Brion James back into the fold. The hits and the gunfire are aplenty in this gem. 

Gary and special guests Lee Russell, Leah Hardy and Cameron Scott discuss two homage films…..call em ripoffs of the most popular possesion film that most people love but a majority of the panel hates. They are aping The Exorcist as we cover Abby and Beyond The Door both from the great year of 1974. 

The Beefers are back and are gonna make a withdrawal from the bank of paranoia and deception with these two features. Iris and Gary are joined by Mike White of The Projection Booth to discuss two films about finding large sums of dirty money and the consequences of taking it. In A Simple Plan, two brothers and their buddy find a duffle bag full of loot whilst on a hunt. Mistrust, desperation and death all become a factor in the gem starring Bill Paxton, Billy Bob Thornton and some other greats in this underseen Sam Raimi classic. Then, The Coen Brothers give us one of their best efforts with Josh Brolin being persued by a most menacing Javier Bardem over a large sum of money and just general integrity. You know because a psychopath has to have integrity. Tommy Lee Jones, Woody Harrelson and some other wonderful actors star in No Country For Old Men. 

Join Gary and Iris for some stale nog or possibly an Irish coffee while we discuss two films in which two delinquents become unlikely stars in their respective or disrespectful forms of media only to fall from mediocrity. 

Change out of your civies and load up your blanks. The Torchy’s boys are hitting the swamps of Louisiana with Jamie Sammons of Horror In The House Of Sammons to discuss Southern Comfort from 1981. When a group of National Guardsmen go on some tactical maneuvers in the backwoods of Louisiana, they start to mess with the natural order of things and piss off some locals. They start getting picked off one by one fighting hypothermia, hillbilly trap-fu and ace backwoods shooters. Look for our bonus episode coming Tuesday on the 1971 classic Deliverance.

We are back in the fires of the boiler room once again with two installments of this hit anthology series. In Missing Persons, a girl with a heavy past is forced to babysit two brats while fighting the urge to eat everything in the house including the brats. This leads to a story about the brats’ father wanting a brand new life following an auto wreck. In The Light At The End Of The Tunnel, a loser that is afraid of the dark is forced into a job in the sewer leading into a story about a sleazy store owner forced to live his own nightmare. 

The Beef crew are back with Gary, Suzanne, Iris and special guest Derek Borgeois to throw on our parkas and go out into the cold for two features that include shapeshifters that brave the elements to terrorize people in Horror Express starring Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing and John Carpenter’s The Thing featuring Kurt Russell, Keith David and Wilford Brimley. 

Derek, Gary and special guest Suzanne call in some favors and some demons and hitch a ride to Connecticut to cover Tim Burton’s classic tale of loss and possession with 1988’s Beetlejuice.

After festering in the boiling room for a short time, the Elm Street kids are burning and dreaming of mediocrity once again. We’re nearing the end of season one of the show and we’ve hit Krueger bedrock with two episodes that sort of work for us. In Love Stinks, a guy with commitment issues loses love, gains a stalker and a whole lot more. This is paired with a second half (like they do) that includes Jeffery Combs as sadistic pizza restaurant manager with a new secret ingredient. In Deadline, a lonely obituary writer and later his lady friend have premonitions of death with hilarious but mediocre results. In Black Tickets, Brad Pitt stars a reluctant boyfriend who has ditched Springwood with his lady only to lead to a trip to a hideaway for these newlyweds. This leads to a surprisingly strange but satisfying second half. Burn with us!!!!!

Mick Jagger winks at you in Freejack from 1992. In Get Out, on a couple’s seemingly normal visit to the new girlfriend’s parent’s house, Chris doesn’t feel quite at home. Why you ask? His hosts soon become his captors in a plot to steal his body and mind and sell it to the highest bidder. All while his mind is in permanent limbo in this modern classic by writer-director Jordan Peele. Also included is Cort and I reviewing the often maligned Caddyshack 2 for the Sloppy Seconds segment.

The Beefers are looking towards the skies and ducking debris because this one contains flying beasts that scream and kill. First up, Burt Reynolds leads a rag tag group of inmates in a scrimmage against the guards in The Longest Yard from 1974. In The Osterman Weekend, he plays a political analyst who’s forced to go against friends who he finds out are Soviet spies in this cat and mouse thriller directed by Sam Pekinpah. In Surviving the Game, he leads a crew of people who have the taste for hobo blood and Ice-T is on the menu. They soon learn they have underestimated their prey in this action packed jam directed by Ernest Dickerson.

First up, The Baron is looking for the right parts for his creations so he can make the perfect babies that will may or may not want to bump uglies with…..never mind. Jones and Herbert Lom shine and Dudikoff monologues in River of Death from 1989.

Freddy is back and plays a major role as those creepy twins from the pilot make their return looking for love, attention and revenge on the gloved killer who killed dad in Sister’s Keeper. In Mother’s Day, Night of the Creeps star Jill Whitlow shows up as a neighbor tart to a hapless new kid who’s just moved into Nancy Thompson’s former residence. He battles a stepfather, some rowdy party goers and Jill’s sexual advances leading to an obvious conclusion. Then there’s some other story with a tertiary side character you can give two fucks about in the back end of the episode. Side boob and bear traps run rampant in Mother’s Day. 

The beefers are back to talk about life, love, redemption and sweet and sexy gore. The though line of these two films is two characters with violent pasts that are forced back into their old and violent ways. We do that by covering the western classic Shane and the David Cronenberg directed A History Of Violence. w/ Gary, Iris and Jamie.

Join Gary, Iris and a returning Jamie as we discuss the cutthroat world of communal living and the turmoil of the real estate market. First up, people keep turning up dead in a swanky New York apartment house. It’s up to Mannix himself to get to the bottom of it in Too Scared To Scream from 1984. Then, when a working class girl’s dreams are shattered with her offer on her apartment with a view, the only plan of action is to make that property a little less undesirable. By brutally murdering it’s tenants in this bloody romp. It gets downright gross in Dream Home from 2010. 

Gary and X are going to Italy on this edition. X has brought a giallo and whatever the fuck that other movie is. In House With Laughing Windows, a painter is called to a remote village to put some touches on a local artist’s final work and things are nothing but chaotic. This leads to a bizarre finish in this lost gem. In A Quiet Place In The Country, Franco Nero plays a painter who looks for inspiration everywhere including a old mansion in the sticks. This leads to ghosts and all kinds of weird sexual acts in this thriller.

The Beefers are back to celebrate a true blue American hero.  Long ago in Tennessee, Buford Pusser laid out some small town justice while putting his own life and family at risk.  These three films are the story of that. Joe Don Baker and Bo Svenson star as our hero in this being the Walking Tall trilogy. The Beefers swing and celebrate this man in a big ass edition.

The Beefers are back with a fine stew of two very different films from the great year of 1976.  Gary is joined by Lee Russell for this special beef stew episode.  First up, a drifter and a samurai bit two warring factions further and further against each other with a duffle bag full of heroin and piles of dead bodies in Lee’s pick of Karate Warriors starring the great Sonny Chiba. Then, when a group of mercenaries get the hankering to rob a diamond mine, they break out in explosions and makes a ruthless Telly Savales very rapey. Peter Fonda, Christopher Lee and O.J. Simpson also star in Gary’s pick of Killer Force aka The Diamond Mercenaries.

On occasion, and we appreciate it, our listeners give us feedback. Derek from Cinema Attack and Cameron Scott who is a screenwriter and friend of the show gave us two films to cover on this one. First, two warriors go on a mission to get some funky weapons and kill an evil queen in Lucio Fulci’s Conquest. Then, Vincent Raven and his crew battle a horde of angry dogs, wild local hunters and local myths in Monster Dog starring a very costumed Alice Cooper.

Another scheduling conflict so another Cannon show! Are you excited? You should be. Well. About one of these movies. Suzanne and Gary attack two more titles from the Cannon library with the ethnic cop suck fest Number One With A Bullet from 1987 and the action packed ride in the snow Runaway Train from 1985.

You want racial tension? We got it. You want panic in the streets? We got it. You want John Leguizamo stealing perfectly good Italian roles? We got it. We have a true blue full lineup again to discuss two very hot Spike Lee joints. In Do The Right Thing, racial tension and the rises on one Bed Stuy neighborhood where it’s citizens are faced with some hard decisions and adversity among themselves. .  In Summer Of Sam, the .44 caliber killer is terrorizing the people of New York while its citizens question each other and their morality.

The beefers are back and we have some tenacious tykes in tow on this edition.  We have the full crew on this one and we are covering two very different killer kid movies from two different decades.  First up, when a van from a local mental institute crashes in the snows of the California mountains, 4 spunky kids and their nun counterpart find and mutilate some yuppies in their cabin getaway.  All this and mentally handicap sexual harassment in Devil Times Five. In The Children, a cloud of nuclear gas turns a bus full of clean cut kids into droopy eyed littles that just want to give their parents a hug.  Those hugs can be deadly with these ones.  Thanks for sticking with us!

It’s been a while but I had a much needed breakdown.  Suzanne and Gary are the dynamic duo on this one covering two films that deal with obsession over celebrity.  In The Last Horror Film, Joe Spinell plays a lonely cab driver who wants to make a film starring his favorite gal from the silver screen.  While searching for her at the Cannes Film Festival, he finds that negotiations can be murder. In The King Of Comedy, Robert DeNiro plays an aspiring but struggling comic who has one goal to scratch his way to the top.  To do this, he kidnaps his idol, takes over his show and possibly make all of his dreams come true.  Sorry for the delay once again.  Much love, beefers!

First up, when a professor with a tragic past starts to dig up some dirt on his new neighbors, his world is invaded by these people and his mind and family will never be the same. All this and one sketchy Joan Cusack in Arlington Road. Then, when The Applegates move into a perfect white town, their neighbors are a bit apprehensive. For good reason because these people are giant bugs in disguise bent on wiping out the human race. Teen pregnancy and stoned bug dogs are afoot in Meet The Applegates.

Gary is joined by Lee Russell from They Must Be Destroyed On Sight podcast to dive back into the Cannon vault for two more gems.  In Street Smart, Christopher Reeve plays an investigative reporter who is getting a little too far into his story involving a smooth talking pimp played by Morgan Freeman in his first feature film.  Then in Superman 4 The Quest For Peace, Reeve puts on the tights and is pitted against Lex Luthor’s Nuclear Man in this farcical, under-budgeted dynamo.

Happy belated Father’s Day to all of you out there in Legion land.  We have prepared a feast of muscle and metal with an all star cast.  We are joined by Brian M. Sammons of The ABCs Of Hidden Horror and my former broadcasting partner on The Bird and The Beard, Hawke Wood.  We discuss two films featuring two beefy dads and their unruly kids in this double bill.  First up, when trucking and montages come first and his son comes second, it’s up to Lincoln Hawk to reconnect with his son and somehow sway Robert Loggia with the power of Kenny Loggins and arm wrestling. They have to deal with band feuds, their wormy manager and one razor toothed stowaway. Commercialism is king when the Pussycats flee Riverdale to pursue their rock and roll dreams with the help of some corporate sleazeballs bent on retail domination.

Hey hey! Pack your bags. The beefers are going to Europe! Jamie and Gary are joined by Short Bus Cinema’s Ricky Morgan and Johnny Kreug to discuss two spoofs of much better subject matter.  When two intrepid reporters go to transylvania to find a Frankenstein’s Monster, they are met with gags and one busty vampiress! Jeff Goldblum and Ed Beagly Jr. lead a killer cast in Transylvania 6-5000. Also, when an overdue library book that can possibly end the world falls into the wrong hands, it’s up to a librarian’s son and his motley crew to defeat the count and his brides whilst singing all the way through in Jim Wynorski’s Transylvania Twist.

Then, Billy Chapel finds struggle, love and eventual release when he is forced to retire from his professional career with the Detroit Tigers and dodge one difficult blonde. Kevin Costner, Kelly Preston and John C.  Reilly star in the Sam Raimi directed For Love Of The Game.

Finally, Jess Robin fights faith, neck beards and his father’s tears in a selfish struggle to become a super star. Neil Diamond sings and swings in The Jazz Singer.

The beef in on the grill and mysogony is the flame that burns it on this episode. Jamie programmed three films about ladies in the workplace in peril. All this and a whole lot of KY jelly in Society!

Day 10 brings us to the graduation dance and Filip Onell and I are going stag. This is my big redemption film in The Prowler from 1981. After one of the big wars, Rosemary breaks up with her soldier boyfriend. She gets his response in the form of a pitchfork and rose. Years later, teens reboot the banned get together only to attract more blood and carnage.

The Beef heads up to the great white North for a pastry run. When a vampire moves in to a hotel, he falls in love with a waitress at a  local donut shop. He soon runs afoul of some local baddies led by David Cronenberg and becomes the sole protector of the lady fair. Can their love survive with the strains of daylight and bloodlust? Find out in Blood and Donuts from 1995.

Cort Psyops and myself head to the land of the kiwis where the land is vast and beautiful but the livestock have a screw loose. We are of course covering the flock-sploitation joint from New Zealand Black Sheep. When a scientist starts to do strange experiments on the sheep of a small village, one of the abominations gets loose and infects the whole populace including some of the townsfolk to bloody and hilarious results.

The Beef gets all gangsta on this edition. Day 7 is going on last train to crazytown with Piper Laurie in Ruby from 1977. After Ruby’s gangster husband gets gunned down by his own men, Ruby is left with a child and a burden of guilt about what happened. Now, running a drive in theater ran by her husband’s old crew, Ruby is faced with her employees dropping like flies and her daughter becoming possessed in a bootleg subplot that rivals Abby. All this and fat ladies drinking bodily fluids in Ruby!

Gary, X and Suzanne head to merry ole England in the time when Jack The Ripper was a regular ladies man and a model father. When his daughter witnesses the slaying of her mother by this notorious killer, She is infused with rage and her father’s murderous tendencies. Now a damaged woman, She holds up with a psychiatrist who hopes to figure her out with bloody consequences. All this and shiny trinkets in Hammer Films Hands Of The Ripper from 1971.

Gary and X go to the Italian pool and discuss one of the more notorious rape revenge films. Or so I thought. When Alex and Ricky go out cruising for their brand of fun, they get more than they bargained for from their company. All this and automotive sabotage in Ruggero Diadatto’s House on The Edge of The Park from 1980.

X and I go to the forest to seek out some thrills and to eat some massive salmon. We are talking about the 1979 film Prophecy directed by John Frankenheimer. When a doctor is sent out to the forest to settle a land dispute, strange animals start to pop up to ruin the party including a massive skinned bear! Grab your sleeping bag and your favorite Native American, we’re hunting manbearpig!

We are joined by author/editor Brian M. Sammons of the ABCs of Hidden Horror, Evil Episodes and Dark Regions Radio Podcasts.

Finally, when teenage French class reject Michael Corbin is mistaken for a super spy, he gets a hot car, a saucy waif and a series of baddies on his trail. All this and combat condoms in the Richard Grieco vehicle If Looks Could Kil.

You remember those films you loved with furry sometimes slimy critters who are cute one minute and disastrous the next.  Well! This is the episode for you!  We are joined by Mike Maryman to discuss three gems of that genre. First up, when some little creeps escape from a vault, they make folks wildest dreams come true. Right before they kill them. All this and more in Hobgoblins.

Next, when a worm/wolf type monster is found in an archaeological dig, he is really cute in a Gizmo rip off kind of way. When he gets hurt, he multiplies and his nasty offspring have shenanigans all over the desert. All this and Turd Ferguson in Munchies.

Finally, in something good, when a boy reads an inscription on a children’s toy, he opens a doorway to hell in his back yard.  All this and some pretty nasty faced little cretins in The Gate!

Remember back in the day when men were men but some men were something else. These men can cross races and that’s rare. These are white guys who played Native American roles. I know right.

First up, when ruthless outlaws are killing his people, it’s up to Joe to kill the oppressors, get the girl and keep up with that damn horse. All this and a pretty banging Morricone score in the Burt Reynolds vehicle Navajo Joe.

Then, when the good people of the southwest are in trouble, they look to none other than the half white/half Native American, Hapkido kicking and surprisingly soft spoken Billy Jack to save them from townies, crooked horse harvesters and general evil doers. All this and a whole lot of pacifism in Billy Jack.

Finally, It’s bad cop meets angry brave in a an action snore fest. When a  sacred spear is stolen from Lakota Indian Lou Diamond Phillips, he has to join forces with a hard nosed cop in Kiefer Sutherland to stop the bad guys and restore order the tribe. All this and dramatic shootings in Renegades.

Strap in and protect your ankles!  There’s danger all over this episode. I am joined by CDR of the Cult Of Muscle podcast this time and talk about obsession on multiple levels. First up, when young Davey gets a hold of some touchy government information from some bad guys, it is up to him and his trusty imaginary friend Jack Flack to stop the baddies and try to stay alive in Cloak & Dagger. Next up, writer Paul Sheldon gets taken in by Annie Wilkes only to find out that she loves his work and will do anything for him to keep the stories coming. All this and cockadoody cars in Misery!  Finally, when a film obsessed kid is thrust into his favorite action hero’s film, its up to him to help Jack Slater to stop the bad guys, survive extreme explosions and an enormous script of bad action tropes in Last Action Hero!

Cinema Beef is back with a full show with Terror Troop’s Wildman Willis in tow. First up in this trio of troubled kids flicks, we got a couple who enter a Nebraska town and find a crop of religious brats with blood sacrifice on their brains in Children of the Corn from 1984. Next up, when Joey’s father passes away, he starts to see some strange stuff including a talking dummy and film licenses galore. All this and Darth Vader in Making Contact!  Finally, when the parents move to a secluded home when their two brats start to have problems, they go through extreme measures to straighten them out. The kids have other plans. All this and cat mutilation in Home Movie from 2008. This one was fun to record. Hope you guys dig it!

Day 4 brings us shitty kids and ancient man apes in The Pit from 1981! Lonely, pervy Jamie is a weird little boy. He talks to his teddy obsessively and he loves vintage porn mags! If that wasnt bad enough he has made friends with a group of hairy dudes in a hole and they are famished. Join him as he kills off his bullies with hilarious results.
