Trailing 6-2 heading into the sixth, the Bulldogs mounted a comeback capped by a five-run seventh inning and resilient pitching from Delainey Everett. Game 2 is Saturday at noon. On the baseball side, the Diamond Dawgs went 1-1 in Hoover — a dominant 12-2 win over Missouri behind a strong outing from Tomas Valincius before falling to Georgia 5-3. Mississippi State has built a resume that should put them in position to host an NCAA Regional at Dudy Noble Field. The bracket is revealed on Monday.
