Traveling through the forest, they spot a teleporting, corrupted bear-like creature, witness it obliterate a passing caravan, and kill it after a chase, collecting symbiotic black ooze and learning it spreads corruption. At Base Camp Ilmar, survivor Jonathan—partially afflicted—describes a mist-shrouded town with a church, tavern, graveyard attack, and a creature that reappears.
