As COVID-19 continues to bring our world to a halt, we keep trying to do a sports podcast in an age of no sports. Results are appropriately chaotic, even if still a lot of fun.

A first time as we have a four-person pod with Dave, Shea, Vince & Matt all on board!

- We do start with sports chat, as we briefly discuss the glorious week of Australian footy action right before hard quarantine measures truly hit Australian shores. Vince watched more than most Australians.

- Chat then moves to the more serious questions of just when will we see these leagues come back, if ever - as well as the financial implications for leagues, particularly the AFL & NRL in Australia looking at some extreme measures to try and keep their leagues afloat.

- Then the chaos reigns. Beer pong against ourselves. Live from Owen's bar. How we're dealing with our isolation, the beers, the wines, the tv shows. Stick with us, there's some good banter and info in there somewhere. I think. What do you call tiny bottles of alcohol? You'll find out. That's content, people.

I say grab a beer and join us every week, but this time it is absolutely essential.

A lot has changed since we last did this. Oil is precious. Denzel is blind and carrying a bible around the wasteland. Mel Gibson is chasing criminals through the Australian outback. Tom Brady is still breaking hearts.

As the very serious COVID-19 pandemic brings the world to a grinding halt, in an SG first we get Dave, Shea and Vince all on the same pod for a social distancing FaceTime roundtable on all things sports and life over the last week and a half.

- The week since the catalyst of NBA suspension, everything that has happened in our lives since.
- Tom Brady decides NOW is a good time to leave the Pats. Of course.
- The tragedy of NCAA cancelling the rest of this year, both for basketball and the Spring sports athletes.
- Just what do all the sports do to finish their seasons, and Dave posits the idea that maybe it is the next season that hasn't been played that should be voided rather than a season 3/4 through.
- What can we bet on now? Australian Football is still running, or we bet on the Mad Max apocalypse.

Crack a can and quarantine with us. We might be sane still.

Shea joins Dave on a brisk Aussie Monday morning to chat everything happening in the football world, plus a brief touch of NBA before Dave has to head off for work (bloody day jobs).

- Liverpool no longer invincible after a weird weekend of footy, and Arsenal get to celebrate for the first time in a decade. The Arsenal and Liverpool fans clash over the concept of legacy vs the now.
- A deep dive into just where Manchester City are at now with the pending ban from Europe, the legacy of Pep and how long he might hang around, and what they may achieve from this point on.

Vince is back on the SG Pod finally, and we get to mix it up with some breaking news as well as some reminiscing of the last 6 months of our sports worlds.

- Breaking hours before we recorded was the news that Man City have joined the Brexit movement, though they didn't vote for this one. UEFA have handed down a 2-year ban to the Citizens for FFP breaches - a story that will surely continue over the coming months.
- The cheating scandal in MLB won't go away, as the opposition of the Astros intensifies with high profile players calling them and the league out for their bullish stances.
- We review our alma maters season as the Oregon Ducks Football program returned to national relevance in 2019, and Vince met a Ducks fan at the Rose Bowl that proved the world can be incredibly small sometimes!
- A little bit of Liverpool & EPL chat to finish off the pod on a real positive note for both of us - soz Shea.

Grab a beer, clean up your shell accounts, and settle back and chill with us.

- After some brief chat about why Goldberg has hit hard times post Mighty Ducks, we chat about the continued scandal in baseball while talking about Mookie Betts pending (at the time of recording) trade to LA.
- Some EPL chat as we talk about how the rest of the season may play out as Liverpool battle on multiple fronts with a handy league lead.
- NBA chat as we talk Blazers minor recovery as well as Lillard and his MVP chances.
- OSCARS! We also love movies so we chat briefly with the Oscars on a couple days after recording this one.

A real fun one, good beer chat which is exactly why we do this pod. Crack one, join us.

There is no way to summarize an episode that began within the hour of learning that Kobe Bryant had tragically passed far too soon. We were planning to record regardless, & we dive into a pod as best we can with this weighing heavy on our hearts.

- After a little bit too long of an intro by Dave, Shea & Dave crack into our reaction to the shocking news of Kobe Bryant's passing. Other names were not known at time of recording, but our equal love and heartbreak go out to Gianna Bryant, John Altobelli, Keri Altobelli, Alyssa Altobelli, Sarah Chester, Payton Chester, Christina Mauser, & Ara Zobayan. RIP.

- After working through the Kobe news, we get into what we had planned which was some Super Bowl preview chat. Our thoughts on the matchup, how the Chiefs & 49ers got there, & how we think the match might flow.

- Lastly, we continue talking about the ongoing cheating scandal rocking Major League Baseball. No matter what the MLB says, this story just isn't going away, & the players are starting to really speak out.

- BONUS: Kobe's final game speech is at the end of this pod. All rights reserved to the broadcaster, ESPN, & affiliates.

This was a tough one. Tell your loved ones you love them. Stay SportsGasmic.

After a month and a half off from the on-pod work, Dave & Shea are back at trying to dissect a crazy holiday period in the sports world.

The biggest news, the Astros scandal. We talk all facets - why is it different, what will it mean for baseball, what are the ramifications, and how do we feel about it.

The other big stories - the NCAA football championship, OBJ slapping asses and giving money - why neither should be worried about, but are. The Ducks end a great season on a high, and Vince meets a famous fan with Port Adelaide ties.

There's been so much fucking sports since we last podded that we really hit it all swiftly, but we also chat about the race in the English Premier League and how it has developed (knock on wood) into a very likely good year for Liverpool.

There's a lot going on. Gonna need an alcoholic digestive to get this one down - Shea can help out with that.

Also on the agenda:

- The fallout of the match as Sterling can't shake the mental turmoil of the events at Anfield, & deciding to crack into Gomez at England camp. Should the national team meet up so soon after such a huge club match?
- The title race is heating up, as though Liverpool have a handy gap, Leicester & Chelsea are quietly getting themselves into the mix.
- More VAR controversy. Because of course there fucking was. But was it really?
- Breaking ground in Australia as the Matildas become the first national women's side to receive equal pay.

Come for the good footy chat, stay for Shea going full Gruden while commending the women's footy news.

<itunes:summary>A big pre-international break weekend is broken down as Shea & Dave chat the fallout of Liverpool's big 3-1 win over Manchester City. Shea thinks the race is done, but Dave sees a long road ahead.

- The Houston Astros downward spiral post World Series loss continues, as explosive claims about them utilising cameras & trash cans (yep, seriously) to tip pitches in the 2017 win against the Dodgers puts a potential asterisk, or worse, against their title.
- The biggest surprises, as well as the biggest disappointments, of the NFL season so far. Are we really believing Gruden is a good coach? So good, that Shea has to do his Gruden impression?

Is the NBA turning into an immoral wild west? Losing it's purity, a world inhabited by Anton Chigurgh's. Or is Gasol (and Shea) just a Sheriff Bell, a man with good intentions who the world has simply passed by, leaving him to sip on a cup of three pointers flying over his head, unable to understand the new world he's living in?

- A huge matchup in the Premier League as Liverpool & Man City ring the title fight bell at Anfield this weekend, & Klopp vs Pep off field snipes.

- In light of Percy Harvin's admission he was "high" every game day during his NFL career, we discuss the continuing evolution of the cannabis in football issue, as society is constantly growing to a more mature understanding of marijuana & it's place in the world, as well as sports.
- NFL stories of the week: Chiefs banged up an mortal, Pats continue to roll (but there are concerns), NFC bloodbath with the Niners, Seahawks & Rams in a hell of a divisional battle, + other stories from the week.

- The hopes for a fruitful post #AUnitedFront era are dashed quickly as the MLS & VAR conspire to screw over the Timbers time & time again.
- Shea considers what might have been as Arsenal grab a point at Old Trafford, as well as relishing in the continued Spursy times.
- Dave gives Sheffield United credit for making life hard for Liverpool, as the reds get by in one of those "you gotta win ugly sometimes" games.
- The gin really starts to hit hard as Dave almost falls asleep on pod, & Shea saves it.

- Champions League gets underway. Liverpool and Chelsea lose, Dortmund blow chances against Barcelona, and Slavia Prague top the group of death.
- ANTI-VAR! Dave continues the crusade as VAR yet again is shown to be a flawed concept at best. Is VAR worth it?
- A huge weekend in the Premier League as Liverpool pass a test against Newcastle while Man City are upset at Norwich. We chat the results as well as how big this is for Norwich and their fans.
- WTF happened post 45+ with Arsenal as they blew a comfortable 2-0 lead against lowly Watford.
- The continued saga in US football as the MLS's ridiculous stance against anti-fascism continues - we chat the bans, the protests, and the effect it is having on the on field product.

- Injuries to two of the biggest names in the NFL. We chat the repercussions of Big Ben & Brees heading to the treatment table.

- The continuing Antonio Brown saga as more disturbing news about his life comes in to public view, as well as how the Patriots should handle it.
- We have a little bit of a circle-jerk over just how good Patrick Mahomes is, as well as discussing if he has any competition in winning a second straight MVP.
- The complicated legacy of Eli Manning as he loses the starting job in New York.
- Why we should appreciate OBJ more - the dude is good. Enjoy him.
- The Heisman race as Trevor Lawrence continues to let Tua, Jalen, etc back into the race.

Shea & Dave hit the round ball game again, with lots on the table this week. We begin in serious mode and discuss the ridiculousness that is the continued problem of racism in football, focusing on Italy as Romelu Lukaku has to defend against both opposition and his own fans simply because of his skin colour. Football must reckon with itself rather than continually deflect, and steps in France against bigotry have shown there are options to be taken.

We lighten the mood back to talking the on field game after this, as Shea reflects on his Gunners taking a point from Spurs in a fiery North London Derby. A point that at one point looked unlikely, and in the end could have been three. Just how unlikeable are the stars at the Spurs, and why is Harry Kane allowed to blatantly dive without the media scrutiny that non-English stars get? Along with this, we also chat about the prospects for the non LFC vs Man City field in the Premier League, figuring out who is in prime position to take the rest of the top four, and the struggles of Chelsea and Manchester United.

Champions League Group Stage preview follows, as we bang out the groups and try to predict who might get through. Some groups are cakewalks, some will be bloodbaths. We lather ourselves up and dive right in.

MLS talk finishes out the pod as we briefly touch on a big Timbers result, wild Sounders vs Galaxy, LAFC continue to roll, and Philly get a big result in the East.

Dave is eight beers deep by the end of the pod as some harmless mindless banter finishes us out for the week. Good stuff.

We then turn our attentions to the actual on field product - where the Timbers are at this season, the battle for LA, & why Zlatan hasn't been the greatest for the league as he should. Ships then sail across the Atlantic as we hit the Premier League, with focus on our respective teams following the Liverpool 3-1 Arsenal match. We discuss the EPL, Champions League favourites, & which teams want which competition more. Finishing off with some banter as Shea gets used to his new environs for footy watching on the East Coast.

Then the tangents begin as we discuss how the AFL can contend with video review and umpiring in the 21st century before deep diving into the AFL's culpability in some of the bigger scandals in the last 10-15 years. The weird Golden State Warriors apathy is also on the cards, should there be a worry? (Hint: Probably not).
