Genecia Alluora’s Story of Bullying

(09:43-11:24) I had to support myself at a very young age since I was 14 years old, and I wasn't able to kind of really build up my self-esteem well. So in school, I wasn't able to buy new clothes, new shoes, and therefore, I was often bullied in school because of my look. Imagine me with really short hair, maybe as short as yours. Rich, you have hair. Okay. So almost very short. And I have very dark eye circles, really bushy eyebrows, very tomboyish because of the way I was being brought up to defend myself, to defend for myself, and not with a lot of money in my pocket. I wasn't able to present myself well, I didn't have a lot of confidence, so I was always the spot where people would bully me. The girls have cornered me at the basketball court. I remember one time, and then they pull over my PE shirt, exposing my bra, and then one of them will actually say, oh, you're wearing the same bra. And I felt totally humiliated. Humiliated. So throughout my years, I was consistently being bullied because of my background, and I lost my self-esteem. In fact, there was one other incident that shook me up that I didn't even want to think about joining a beauty pageant because totally, I lost myself completely. There were times that they took my bag. My bag has holes in them, and they threw it across the classroom floor. And all my books were strewn all across the floor. And at that moment in time, I wanted to commit suicide. I just wanted to die. 

Her Journey Towards Joining Beauty Pageant

(11:27-11:50) My self-esteem continued to go downhill. But you see, we are the average of the five people we hang with the most. And sometimes when we don't have coverage, we don't have bravery. We lost ourselves. It's the people around us who will support us and give us that support. And my friends believed in me. My friends saw the potential in me and say Genecia, you should just join a beauty pageant. Just go for it.

(12:03-12:07) And my friends, eventually they enrolled me to join Miss Singapore.

(12:11-12:24) And the best part was, I wasn't groomed. I didn't have a lot of money to buy a pair of heels. In fact, I could only afford one pair of black color heels. But in any beauty pageant, you need to have one black and one silver. And you have to have clothes for multiple events.

(12:35-12:44) So I went to knock on doors, and eventually, I found someone who was willing to give me a sponsorship to teach me how to do public speaking. 

(12:46-13:18) Her name was Rebecca. And she gave me all the DVDs, CDs, her notes, and everything possible. She gave it to me. And then she said, can you give me your wallet, your bank? And I was a little bit blurred and naive at the time. Okay. I just passed you my bag, and she took out my wallet, unzip my wallet and pour all the money I have in my wallet. And I'm like, Rebecca, why are you taking all my money? That's all that I have. $60 is all that I have for the month for my food and transport and everything else.

(13:36-13:56) And I told myself since you took all my money, I have no money. Right. 

So I better study hard and make sure I do well in my pageant. Right. So eventually I scored really well, and I won Miss Singapore International in 2006 because of Rebecca's teachings,

public speaking, learn how to groom myself. All because I took the first step to commit to my success.

Concept of Value Exchange Pushed her to do well in Pageantry

(16:24-16:57) I think I never really understood the power of value exchange until much later in life. But definitely, when I looked back, I finally understood why she took that $60. There may be very little to some of you, the listeners, audience who's watching this right now, but for me, it was a lot back in those days. So we talked about the value, the proportion of the value that you have right now in your pocket when you give, whether it's 100 pesos or how much you're giving. It's not how much you give, but how much you have that you're actually giving.

Her Message to People who are Struggling. 

(20:46-21:21) Don't think that you are alone because there's someone else out there. I totally get you. If you have depression and anxiety, it's time and possible for the journey. Just know that someone has gone before you and someone has overcome before you. So be an Overcomer. Learn to Ask for Help don't feel like you're being judged if you ask for help or if I ask for help means I'm weak, means I'm lousy, means I'm no good. But if I hadn't asked for help, I hadn't had friends who gave me that support. I will not be here today and be able to do more with my life. 

(21:23-21:36)So I want to encourage you to really step out of your comfort zone and really ask for help. Don't feel that someone else is judging you. Always know that there is a brighter, lighter hit at the end of the tunnel.

Does and Don'ts in Starting a Business

Don't be an Automatic Expert on Certain Things.

(28:21-28:41) So to really do a cafe business, you need to don't become like a chef, you try to start a restaurant. You hold a camera, you think you're a photographer, you hold an iPhone, you think you're a blogger, you have a website, you think you are a blogger or something like that along the line. So don't think that you know how to be a barista. You can make a cafe. 

Don't Do Retail Business in this Covid-19 Season

(28:50-29:14) I would say in this Covid-19 season, don't really start a retail business anymore. I will recommend you to reinvent the idea into a kiosk and then do takeaways, something that is duplicatable, something that is easy. Similar concept to bubble tea. Do something that is easy for people to take away with. I think that would be a better choice.

Get a Franchise

(30:21-30:36)If you were to do a cafe, get a franchise, that is the easiest way to get started, even though it could be a little more pricey. But that investment that you put upfront guarantees you that you have a system and process that's proven and you can make money immediately.  

(30:49-30:57) Why? Because the brand is really known in the market and it's easy for people to trust you and know that your coffee is good. 

(31:07-31:13) Other than that, the brand actually has a trust factor involved. So definitely that will work in itself.

Build a Team

(31:24-31:44) I think one thing that I found success in the cafe business and I've learned is by having a team, we could put our skillset and strengths together and we are not functioning alone. And because we're not alone, we could easily put the processes together and eventually cr...

Now, today I want to talk about how to use my three best money affirmations to change your life. I know that money affirmations can get a little bit iffy for some of you, but you know that I absolutely love a good affirmation because I think they really have a powerful impact on your life and business, and it can be as powerful as reading a book or taking a course. 

How does affirmation work? 

(01:54-02:13) Affirmations are a huge part of how I have manifested my life and business, and I always recommend them as a great starting point if you are looking to upgrade your life or to have more belief in yourself, to own and love the F word.

(02:51-03:13) There are specific affirmations for specific situations. Okay, so there are three best affirmations that I have that can help you shift you from feeling negative and frustrated to feeling really good about yourself. Abundant and deserving really quickly.

How Can Affirmations Impact Your Money Mindset?

(03:15-03:38) Let's do it. So how Affirmations Can Impact Your Money Mindset? First and foremost, affirmations are positive brain training statements that help you shift your focus from the negative, where a lot of us spend our time and shift it to the positive.

(03:45-04:03) Scientifically activate our reticular activating system in our brain that's like a light tower shining brightly, showing a signal outwards so that the good stuff will come to you that you want.

(05:24-05:55) If you don't pattern interrupt these negative thoughts patterns, you will probably create a downward spiral that manifests more frustration, lack, and negativity. When you're feeling absolutely crap about yourself or feeling absolutely lousy, you often miss out on opportunities. You talk yourself out of taking action, and then you get stuck in the same position of procrastination.

(06:03-06:14) Negative self-talk is one of the biggest sabotaging patterns I've seen—people who aren't living their ideal life the life of the F word.

My signature affirmation

(06:38-07:06) So my signature affirmation is that if you use an affirmation like my signature affirmation, you will say, "I love myself, and I set myself free." "This is my time, and I'm ready for the next step." This immediately gives your brain something really positive to focus on instead of those annoying, stupid negative patterns.

(07:07-07:22) Now, this particular affirmation sends the message that you are ready even before you are really ready. And that is only the step that needs to happen. So it becomes less scary. 

(07:54-08:32) So when you train your brain to look for the positive, you automatically start to feel better and act in different ways. You might feel more motivated to take action, even a small one. And it has a knock-on effect to create positive outcomes too. So if you use affirmations. Whenever you notice the negative thoughts come into play, you successfully patent interrupt the downward spiral of your mood, of your thoughts before it causes drama in your life.

Affirmation 1: My face is my fortune

(09:09-09:27) This is for you. Entrepreneurs out there or budding entrepreneurs. Okay, aspiring entrepreneurs. Whether you're thinking about starting a bakery, starting your own site, hustle, even though you're not the five employees, or even though you're in a full-time business, hey, it's for you.

(09:28-09:35) Don't hide. For your customers to connect with you, you need to be seen.

(09:54-10:21) So, the way to differentiate yourself in a crowded marketplace is to be you unapologetically. Yes, Darling, yes. Even at your current weight, current size, current skin, current colour. Even though you think you're not ready. And even if you worry you're not good enough.

(11:03-11:13) So six of my favourite ways to get visible. Get some new photoshoots done before you're ready. 

(11:24-11:38) Number two, use your face on your branding. Even if you're a product business or live stream business, eCommerce business, give yourself permission to be seen as a real-life model of what you do.

(11:52-11:59) Number three, if you make things, show the behind-the-scenes of your workspace and how you create your work. 

(12:07-12:19) Number four, this also helps you to charge well for what you do because your audience starts to appreciate the work that goes into your product.

(12:20-12:34) Number five, be brave to show a mix of photos, the glam up ones versus the real-life ones. You’ll be surprised what your audience or the people resonate with.

(12:55-13:11) Lastly, get on the camera either with live streaming interviews or prerecorded videos so that your audience can connect with you. Do what feels comfortable, Darling, but basically show up and show yourself.

Affirmation 2: I serve. I deserve.

(13:41-13:50) The word deserve means that when you serve through your programs, your products or your services, you deserve to be rich. 

(13:59-14:08) So when I first started using this affirmation, it completely changed the way I felt about my impact on the world and my ability to receive abundance in return. I used to feel really horrible and terrible that I couldn't help everyone and would constantly feel guilty.

(15:44-16:04) The truth is that when you have a business, you could work 24/7 and still not feel like you are doing enough. There's no off time or clock off time for most of us. So how do you deal with it now? Think of all the ways you serve people.

(18:28-18:37) You deserve to be rich when you serve, or you make an impact on people's lives or add value to other people's lives.

(18:39-19:12) This affirmation will remind you of all the ways to help people, but it also helps you to remember that you don't have to serve in all ways or be everything to everyone you already served. Use this affirmation as your reminder that it's okay to receive good things doing what you do. You are entitled to receive abundance in your life from serving people, including money.

(19:17-19:28) So remember this. I serve. I deserve. I deserve to be rich when I add value to other people's lives. 

Affirmation 3: This is what a soul rich woman looks like!

(19:50-20:06) Now, this one will change your life. When you think about the stereotypical rich woman wealthy person, what do you think they will look like, sound like or dress like?

(20:26-20:57) Surely a rich woman has to have a mess. Chanel and all the big fancy brands and fancy outfits all the time, right? Go look in the mirror and say this affirmation to yourself. Point to your face and say this. “This is what a soul rich woman looks like.!”

(22:56-23:24) Then you will interrupt the pattern and remind yourself that you can be as a soul rich woman, as rich as you want to be, as much so rich as you want to be, as you love to be, as much wealthy as you want to be. And you can be as wealthy as you like, you start to believe that it's possible for you to be exactly how you are now.

(01:08-1:46) Now on this episode, I have completed an interview with Shannon Winston of Keep What You Earn podcast show, and I would like to share with you the interview done because in this show I talked about secrets of manifesting money quickly. Creating abundance in your life is not just the only ingredient to your financial success or to own your effort. You too, need another secret ingredient to own that level of success.

Turning Mess into Message
(04:29-04:54) I told my mom about all the different bullying situations that happened to me in school, and she told me this, turn your mess into your message now, even though I don't really get it at that point in time. But my tenacity and grit and determination grew because my mother was my source of mental and wellness and emotional support. And I persevered. And that's how I move forward.

Entrepreneur Rat Race
(05:48-06:38) But you see, it came to a point where I couldn't move anymore because I was stuck. I don't want to be a trainer of my life in terms of, like, I get paid, I work, I get paid, I don't work, I don't get paid. So I kind of have a quarter-life crisis at that point and ask myself this question, what am I going to do with my life? Am I going to be a slave to entrepreneurship? Now? I coined this term. A lot of people say it's the Rat Race. I call this the Entrepreneur Rat Race, which means you thought that you're an entrepreneur. You don't value your own time. You expect to be paid when you're a full-time job. But when you become an entrepreneur, you don't expect to be paid. You don't value your time. How do you spend your time every single day?

Key Driver’s to Mindset Shift
(07:34-07:48) The key thing that shifted my mindset was the desire to change and the awareness of it. So having the awareness and desire to change, I put myself through causes. I think skill set is something that it cannot be removed from us.

Gratification that most Woman Have
Rewarding Yourself
(09:18-09:44) A lot of women said I want financial freedom. I want financial independence. And, yes, we can give you the sense. That's why we give you the help. And it's done. Once they hit their 10K month or 20K month and then scaling upwards, I'm like, hey, what do you do with your money? Oh, I bought a Chanel bag. I bought this brand. I bought the wallet I've been eyeing for a long time. It's a childhood dream.

(09:48-10:07) It's wonderful to reward yourself versus when you make the money and then you are not managing the money. You achieve that financial independence you achieve to a certain extent. You are just getting started. But if you're not managing it your financial independence could be entirely lost.

Spending For Family
(10:42-11:11) Family is important, but that bloodline. Or I call it the cash flow of business. It is that flow that keeps the entire business going. What if a client delays paying you? What if you needed extra emergency funds for whatever purposes, extra marketing dollars to get a few. Just maybe two more clients to get that going. So I think that will be delay gratification.

How to protect your Financial Independence?
(10:08-10:27) So this is one thing that I always advise women to do. Always pay yourself first. I think that's very important and use whatever that has been. I would say segmented out to pay yourself first and then use that to apportion out whatever you want to buy eventually delay gratification.

(11:13-11:37) Something I will feel very practical is if you really want something that badly for yourself or for your family, why not get two more clients? I always suggest to my coaching clients would be like, find two more person who will pay for that. So you keep a base set of clients for the retainer fee or whatever that you've made. Invest back and then maybe get two more so that you can extra buffer for the item that you always wanted.

Build a Team
(12:28-12:46) Find a peer group like a Mastermind 3,4,5 of you. It doesn't have to be big, like a community. No, just a small group where you stay accountable, where you are supportive of each other. And there's no judgment in that group.

Tips on Money Management.

Hire a CFO or Chief financial officer.
(13:44-13:53) you're not a person who can keep the money, hire CFO, and that was exactly what I did. I hire somebody and control my money to take care and handle for me.

Get a Mentor
(13:55-14:00) Really get a mentor who really guides you. What to do?

Repeat one and two
(14:06:14:25) Because we are entrepreneurs, we don't really listen. We have our own opinions. We have our own mindset, how we should spend our money. I would say, if you want to hire somebody, engage somebody, believe in them, fully empower them fully. And really, I would say, don't be the bottleneck of your business.

Put your Goals in front of You
(15:03-15:26) Put your goals in front of you because out of sight, out of mind. So that's how I work with my clients and myself. I put my goals. Let's say something we want to buy or we want to hire somebody. At this rate, we put our goals down very clearly and on the board so that we will not when we have the budget.

What does Being Online Really Mean?

(18:17-18:47) What online and really being there and present really means will be how are you showing up for your clients and people you serve every single day? Now there's a difference if you only serve a client by showing up once a week versus someone who is newer than you in the marketing game or online game who's showing up two to three times a day every single day for the next 365 days.

(19:05-19:18) If you're going to put in only 4 hours a week versus someone who puts in 16 hours a day hustling to get things off the ground and make sure they are seen and heard, then that will make a lot of difference.

How to Create your Personal Brand and Stand Out?

(20:52-21:37) Create your own. I would say your own ocean your own area instead of going to a space and be number two, be rather your own category. King of category Queen. I think that would be key. Like for myself as sole rich women's founder, I'm not just a female entrepreneur network that does the usual business stuff. We are very call focused on helping women to go from offline to online to own the F-word. Now how do we do that's later on. But the messaging out there to the world is such so niche that when people think about I want to go online, I will think about Soul Rich Women,

(21:47-22:08) So be very distinct on how you're serving your people. And that would be the question you need to ask yourself, which is what is the one problem that I can solve for my customers immediately right now so that in future and moving forward, they will pay me for my advice and for my service.

Missing Out is part of Making Progress

(22:35-23:40) The formal factor, the fear of missing out is huge. And I acknowledge that I will not say, oh, it's not there. It is. There. So the way in one key way I always get them to overcome is think about like an octopus. I don't know if you know, octopus. Octopus has eight Lakes. So think about you are building your business like an octopus. First, build one Lake until the Lake is successful most of the second Lake and then the third Lake, and then the fourth League. If I put it into a sports metaphor, it will be the golf go to a golf course. (14:31-14:45) Having a podcast show is not just calling yourself, okay, I'm a podcaster, and that's it. It's how your mindset towards being a podcaster is or having a podcast is that will transform your business and build a brand around podcasting.

(14:46-15:04) So number one, it instantly changes your status. Number two, it makes you an instant authority. Number three, it gets you speaking engagements. Number four, it has a high perceived value. Number five, you can build trust before selling.

(16:13-16:55) So when you have a podcast, how do you approach this? You must become the star of your show. You cannot just hide and think that okay, I'm a podcaster. I hide behind that episode cover. I hide behind in that name. No, you got to get out there. So overall, this is what we call this Soul rich women blueprints. And I use this podcasting blueprint technique called Soul Rich Woman Blueprint to help my clients to be seen and to be heard online. Now, when you are the star, you can build your norm-like-trust core. Now, norm-like-trust core is very important, especially when you have a podcast.

Consistency is a Must in Podcasting

(17:28-17:53) The key thing of why we are successful and how our clients got five-figure sales and being seen as a leader was because they were really over consistent

Now consistency seems very elusive when you're looking at stuff. I want to share with you this when you look at consistency, it's not a one-day thing. It's not one day, two days, three weeks. 

(21:31-21:45) So three things you must have a schedule of consistency. Number two, you really need to engage with your audience when they comment, you must reply to them. Last, but not least really have a targeted message to talk to them.

1. Consistency and Batching.

(22:18-22:28)  In our platform, we help our podcasters to do four days of recording and to launch one year's worth of content. You can actually do four days of recording to develop one year of content, and we have a template for that.

2. Glowing and Leading

Glowing with your Podcast

 (22:50-23:18) Look into how you're glowing and leading. Now I want to share with you two beautiful main dream characters or Chinese characters. Now, a lot of people when they start a podcast, will think I'm a leader, right? But I would like to think of it as you are glowing with your podcast shows. The glow, the essence that attracts people to you will be your title, your podcast cover, which later on I will share with you a little bit more.

(25:26-25:36) So just by a slight tweak in the imaging in the way, who you want to target, who you want to speak to and how you want to be memorable to the people that you're talking to will determine how you will look on your podcast cover how you approach your podcasting so if you want to look at this by map.

Be the Leader in your content

(23:19- 23:28) Being a leader in your content. What exactly are you speaking about? So you need to be a charismatic leader. You need to find your own mastery. 

(25:42- 25:56) When you have a belief that you can be the instant authority, you can be the leader, you change your status, you have hyper seal value, it can develop into a business. And that is what exactly we did for our podcasters.

3. Find Your Niche

(23:52-24:15) What exactly are you talking to? Who are you targeting? And how can you be memorable to your audience? And this is key, so just a quick few before and after to help you. Dr. John Tan is the Executive care director of Care Singapore and he's also the President of the Youth Work Association. So that was the podcast cover before the image that he was using. But because he speaks to youth when he launches the podcast, he wants to talk to youth. So choosing the right image that speaks to the target audience is important.

4. Building Small Agreements

(26:28-26:33) You must have small agreements. Don't think in just one podcast episode it will close sales.

Why do we need to value our clients?

(09:02-09:21) Every single Wednesday at 09:00 p.m. Sharp, I show up consistently rain or shine. So by doing so, I built up from zero, nobody attended my webinar. I have crickets, cockroaches and butterflies attending my webinar, right? Nobody else was there.

(09:46-09:51) I think it's all about giving value and being consistent to show that you are there. 

(10:04- 10:45) So value is something that people don't really get it. They think by just going on a Facebook life, they just share and sell something on intellectual. I mean, that's great. But what is real value is that someone takes away something. If I can give you one or two AHA moments on the show, that is value. And that is why when I'm now launching my Make It Happen campaign for my book and my podcast show, I'm giving value to anyone today who wants to get onto my show three to five minutes. I'm going to promote you. 

Why is giving value is important?

(11:01- 11:15) So what is value? So if you really want to help somebody, you know what? Don't sell, give value first. If they know, like, and trust you, they'll love you, they'll respect you. 

(11:38- 11:49) So giving value, Rich, is just like what you're doing, really providing them know, like, trust goal so that they build a relationship with you.

(12:24-12:43)So I'm letting people tap onto our big giant shoulders to leap off, at least have an opportunity. You see, success is not about glorious wins, it's never about that. It's about taking a step back and letting other people shine as well.

Don’t Be Afraid to Start from Zero

(15:21-16;05) But if you think about it, yeah. Before, Gary Vaynerchuk him, Gary Vaynerchuk. He started wine TV, wine library or wine TV. And that has nobody watching it. Robert Kiyosaki started somewhere. Nobody even know about him until he started teaching and doing the board game. Right. So we all started from zero. And when we look at the successes of people, like, when people look at you, Rich people are like, oh, Rich is so amazing. You do your own show, you got this, we got that. And then they're. They're like, oh, but I can never be like Rich. But you know what? You just need to take a baby step.

The 3 P’s by Genecia

1. Prioritize

(16:12-16;30) Where is your dream? What is your goal? prioritize. If your dream is to be seen and to be heard as a leader, you want to be a leader in the agency, in your organization, on the online platform, whatever that may be, you have to prioritize. 

2. Push Yourself

(16:34-16:46) Get yourself with a network of like-minded, people, right? because like, attract like-minded people and then you get support and then people push you along, cheerleading you.

3. Prepare to Launch

(16:53-17:24) Too many of you prepare but never launch. How many of you think about launching that podcast that Facebook live, that business that you want to do, the early-stage entrepreneurship that you always wanted to start to make money online. You're thinking you're always preparing, researching and preparing. Hope that one day when the time is right, TADA, you think that the fairy godmother is going to come down and bring a magic one and wave a magic one like Cinderella.  

(17:45-17:47) Don't just prepare, prepare and launch it.

The power is in our hands. 

(19:07-19:37) We have the power in our hands. And if you get out of the comfort zone, stop being a victim. Blaming the COVID, blaming the lockdown, blaming another person. If you take that power again, you know what? You can dream. You can make money online. You can have a side hustle that you always wanted to do. That's right, because it's never about the resources, it's always about the resourcefulness.

(30:01-30:50) If you are thinking, oh, life sucks. Life is lousy. That person's fault, and you stay in that box and you choose to stay in that box. Every single day, we talk about 21 days to build an amazing habit. Can you imagine it's only 21 days and you can't even keep doing it? And you have done the years of your life, 20 years of your life, 30 years of your life, 40 years of your life complaining. How are the 21 days going to transform into it 30 years, 20 years and 40 years of your life? Unless you choose to when you choose, you know what? You don't have to change who you are. But you must be willing to learn and grow your mindset.

Take a Different Perspective

(35:48-38:58) If you are not doing very well in this time of covid or having a lockdown, take a different perspective. What do your clients or potential audience need?

(34:39-34:47) So I've got this image consultant-client she's charging about. She's shown to sell a $3,000 package to engineers. 

(35:26-35:06) Most engineers are behind the scenes behind-the-scenes. And the fact is, she couldn't sell her packages at all through the sum of the crickets literally zero. So when she came to me and I told her, I said, Why don't you consider changing a perspective, taking another perspective of what your audience needs? So after much brainstorming, I said, why not you sell them or promote to them how to look good on dates? Because most engineers are really nerdy. I'm just saying, generally they are nerds, but I believe they're really handsome engineers out there as well. 

(36:11-36:22) But they don't have time for dates. Why don't you teach them how to look good on a first date? How do you do your social etiquette for the first date or the subsequent date?

(36:23-36:36) With the same pricing, she took a different perspective of their package. We looked at the client they're targeting, and guess what? She sold like hotcakes. The package is sold like hotcakes.

Importance of Knowing Your Market

(39:43-40:36)

Sell to everybody. Sell to nobody. Speak to one. Speak to many. So if you think about it, if I could give you a hard moment today about who your target market should be, then I want you to hop on the movement of making it happen because helping you to see a perspective overcoming a challenge of identifying your fishes is important for me, especially now when everyone is going online and the funny part is Rich, they are thinking I want a salmon head, a body of a shark, a tail of a dolphin. It's not possible. The fish is dead. The fish is already dead. By the time you chop them up and then put the jigsaw puzzle together. 

(41:24-42:03) You have to just keep changing and moulding yourself into your customer's needs. Why not just be who you are. Be who you really are. Be authentic and tell yourself, who do you want to serve and then go to the next. Love your customers more than you love your product.

Take all Excuses out and Ask For Help

(54:52-55:15) But first, you need to get all of your excuses out of the sofa, of excuses, out of the couch of excuses. I went out to look for people who could help me ask for help. We agents are so unwilling to ask for help. Do we look weak when we ask for help? Well, to a lot of people, we look weak. But I want to encourage you to...

Hello, gorgeous. Welcome to this episode. Now, this was a presentation that I did and I shared about money and me, money and you and I would like you to transform your business and your life with these few concepts that I'm about to share in the presentation.

Value your time, you value yourself. 

(03:50-04:18) How much is your time worth per hour? How much is your time worth per hour? Now, that's very important, because if you view the value of money, sometimes it's tight to your time, how you value your time and what you're doing every single 24 hours a day. So the way you spend your time is the way you value yourself. And it's the way that you can grow your abundance and manifest more money or abundance into your life.

What is Soul Rich Woman’s vision?

(08:26-09:21) Life was more than just making money. Life was more than just whatever that I'm doing right now because I have no business background and I moved into building a legacy business that I call Soul Rich Woman. So this Soul Rich Woman, let me just share with you why I call it Soul Rich Woman. I believe that women or people and generally for myself, I feel that women should have the soul. They have a soul, once you have the soul, you have a soul, you can develop abundance in any way you want. So with the soul, that's how you develop and you evolve as a person and bear for the fruits of whatever they are doing. And that is the definition of Soul Rich Woman. And it ties in with the F word, fabulous, freedom, financial independence and happy family. And that defines not a person but how you value, at which point in your life.

Beliefs that help Genecia break through hardships in life. 
1. You deserve to be rich when you give value to others.

(10:21- 10:41) You deserve to be rich because you provide value to other people's lives. So that is the first belief that transform my life because I also wanted to do free. I want to help those people who are poor, but I must make myself rich first. I must make myself successful first before I could give more to other people.
2. Be an excellent receiver. 

(11:27-11:54) So as I'm giving, I must learn to receive. So when people ask me, oh, can I help you with your business? Can I get you or can I help you with this project? I say no, I can do it myself because I grew up at 14 years old fighting for my rice bowl. So I'm very independent. So I opened my heart to learn to receive, to be an excellent receiver. That's how the abundance walks through the doors.
3. Be grateful for everything you received.

(12:00-12:27) Become more and more grateful for every single penny and every single cent that comes in and goes out by having a gratitude mindset and saying thank you for every single sentence and writing down to the $0.05. I learned that by saying that appreciating every single cent gave me a lot more, 100 times more by being grateful for every single one that I have. 
4. Practice this powerful mantra.

(13:02-14:24) All you need to do is just raise your right hand and put your right hand onto your heart. And then in three, two, one, let's speak this together. Three, two, “I love myself and I set myself free. This is my time, I'm ready for the next step.” Now pause and breathe in and breathe out. Notice how you feel at this current moment. Be at peace and notice the feeling about taking the next step and relaxing. So that is my journey about money and with money. And notice how we've transitioned and being at peace and aligned with our heart. That's when the soul is truly happy.

Hey, gorgeous and welcome to today's episode. I'm your host, Genecia Alluora. Now today, I want to share the seven signs you need to work on your mindset. Now, when it comes to money, sooner or later, there will be a wake-up call that happens for each of us. Maybe the last year has been a massive wake up call for you.

1. When you know it's your time but something holding you back.

(04:38- 05:34) Finally, each year you set big goals thinking that this will be the year that your dreams come true. You might even have a book that is sitting on your computer 90% done or a program or course that's ready to launch, but something's just stopping you. Every day you wake up and you think now it's the time, it's the right time. But the moment your income doesn't match up with your intelligence or with your degree or potential and the gifts you offer up to the world, you are tired and you are tired of waiting for someone else to choose you or you deem that you are ready to earn more. I'm sure you're frustrated in yourself that you haven't done it yet, but maybe today is today and you know that it's now or never.

2. When you’ve been practising personal development yet your money handling behaviour doesn't change.

(05:43-06:32) You love personal development, but the money hasn't shown up yet. Well, you could be feeling like a fraud or flaky person right now because you're doing everything right, but it's just not working. I bet you have a dream board, a vision board, or you journal your goals regularly. And you are a very positive person. You probably read every book that talks about making money abundance under the sun, but you feel like there's still a missing puzzle

It feels unfair if you're honest with yourself. You know that you've been sabotaging money behaviours that are working against you, but you can't change them.

3. When you don't earn what you are worth but you are aware of that.

(06:36-06:52) You don't earn what you are worth and you suspect that you're worth a lot more. The charge what you are worthing gets a really bad reputation, especially when we talk about it here in soul rich woman, you need to charge your worth, do less.

(07:00-07:34) It's because women don't see that they are worth the amount, and they're always using that excuse or that sentence. Women should just help women. Why should I charge or get someone to pay me for my products or services? I mean, you can't put a price tag on yourself as a human being. You're priceless, but guess what your business isn't. You have to name a price.

4. When you want to live a life worth living but you're compromising it.

(08:39-08:50) You want to live a first-class, amazing life, but you're stuck in the rut, you're stuck in your cupboard. 

(08:53-09:41) You are sick of compromising areas in your life, like where you stay, what you eat, how you are treating your family because we're talking about owning and loving the F-word. So being fabulous, freedom, financial independence, and a happy family. So you're kind of sick of compromising all these four F-Words in your life, where you live, how you dress, or how you travel. It's exhausting, super tiring to have to justify every single dollar, every single cent. Think about it. Wouldn't it be nice and cool to have peace of mind that you can always make more money? You're seeing other women rapidly increasing their income and you are kind of jealous? It's okay to admit it.

5. When you're aware of your money handling capability but do not seek any help.

(09:57-10:01) You already know that you need a money mindset makeover. 

(10:06-10:21) You might even have gone through situations when you think I've got to sort this out.

(10:22-10:50) For example, when you start to perspire when you talk to an accountant or anyone official or officially about money, or you sit and procrastinate like sending out invoices people send me their confessions all the time and say that they are so scared about money, in particular, talking about it and asking for it, you might even think you are really bad with money.

(11:08-11:16) It's about taking a practical inventory of your past experiences and examining it with all your beliefs and habits around money.

6. When you feel like you repel money.

(11:27-11:56) You know how to manifest money quickly when you need to, but it's not predictable or it comes at a great personal cost. Like, for example, you're stressed out or burned out. When you have a good month, you often attract unexpected bills or fines that will wipe it all out. So you're always going like two steps forward and one steps back, ten steps forward and three steps back. And that can be so frustrating.
 
7. When you want to make more money, but you're also scared.

(12:04-12:21) Some people are surprised to learn that even millionaires are scared. Making more money doesn't make the fear go away. Same for me, even at the stage where I'm at, making money is scary sometimes.

(13:05-13:31) You worry about losing your privacy or safety. You worry, you get scammed. You worry about friends and family asking you for more money. You worry that it's going to be a hugely negative experience and you can see where I'm going. This is common and you can see these conflicting things and how much they could be holding you back.

Embracing the money blocks 

(13:38-14:01) Everyone has their flavour of money blocks, and I'm here to help you identify yours and clear it.

(14:37-15:13) Remember, Money blocks don’t have to derail you. You can embrace them and move on to creating the life that you want, the F-Word that you want for yourself, family, financial independence, being fabulous, having freedom, but it all starts with your awareness. Once you know your block, you then can stop sabotaging behaviours that you can stop them, that they will not come and haunt you. And then you can move on to the next level. That's when you can make money, no matter what.

Three money goals to set for yourself.

1. Set a Savings Goal.

(02:36-02:48) Actually opening up a savings account and making a savings goal is a great sign to the universe that you're ready for more money to show up. And it takes a huge mindset shift to allow yourself to have access to money.

(04:26-04:44) So set a savings goal and take action today. Start by saving just $5 a week on an automatic gyro or automatic debit system and if you have already saved money, increase your weekly amount, you won't even miss it.

2. Set a Goal to be Debt-free.

(04:49-05:08) Now, debt is another area that we sabotage ourselves with, or we sabotage easily with ourselves with it keeps you trapped. Maybe in a job that you don't like or obligated to work with clients you don't like either.

(05:49-06:12) When you make the decision to get out of debt, it can mean choosing a corresponding rise in your rates and income, which often brings out some of your fears and blocks and sometimes the worst devil that is within you. It takes commitment and guts to make a plan to get rid of debt and then follow through with it. 

Tip: Get really honest with how much debt you actually have or already have.

3. Set an Income Goal.

(07:34-07:52) Set an Income goal but not just your overall goal, like a million dollars. Okay, I want you to set goals around different income streams in your business. In particular, set a total revenue goal and a passive income goal.

(08:44-08:55) Create momentum in the things that you are doing. It's never just waiting for the next big thing. It's about doing the small little things and taking small steps forward to the bigger goal.

Hey, gorgeous. Welcome to today's episode. I'm your host, Genecia Alloura, founder of Soul Rich Woman and creator of the Soul Rich Woman blueprint. In today's episode, I want to talk about the end of year ritual to finish the year with a bang.

Recognize the good things you’ve accomplished.

(04:09-04:48) So it's best to do this with someone who understands you, who sees you, for you and your accomplishments, and who will draw out of you, who will draw out all these lists of things that you are proud of this year. So take turns asking each other what you're proud of. Start with, I'm proud of and list things out. 

(04:52-05:09) Then you can move through business accomplishments. Then you can move through tricky situations that you've dealt with, boundaries you have enforced, goals that you have achieved, personal accomplishments, awards that you have won, anything that you want to acknowledge yourself for. Don't be shy or modest. It's time to shine your light on everything you have done because you deserve to shine.

Why it is very important to recognize all wins?

(07:44-08:15) Keep asking and don't give up. Recognizing everything you've achieved in this phase of adversity is so good for you. It's awesome to remember everything. It's also great to manifest and to acknowledge all your wins, both big and small so that you can attract even more luck and abundance into the new year. Work on a mix of business and personal. As long as you get at least 30 to 50 good things.

Always have this phrase in mind “what else”.

(06:43-07:19) Don't give up the list of accomplishments and things you're proud of is important. But the question, what else is extremely important too? You probably get stuck at about the fifth or the sixth thing you're proud of because you just don't want to brag. You don't want to talk about accomplishments. You discount who you discount your achievements or simply just forgotten or what I call kind of like denial. You just live life and then just sweep it under the carpet and you don't think that's necessarily an important thing.

Hello gorgeous and welcome to today's episode. I'm your host, Genecia Alloura. Today I want to share with you the five tips to get through the holidays without triggering your money blocks or triggering too much of your money blocks. 

Five things to do to make sure your money blocks aren't triggered.

1. Have a kind response

(02:22-03:27) A go-to response. When your family asks you about potentially triggering topics. This can apply to questions about your business, so it pays to be prepared a hit of the time. Now you might have someone in your family who constantly ask you, how is your business doing right now or what are you doing for business again? Or do you mean you change another business? Are you qualified to even do this and they make you feel like shit? Here's the thing, you don't have to tell them about the ins and out of your business. You don't have to tell them how many clients you have, how much they pay you. You don't have to tell them anything if you don't want to. Here's a really simple go-to response. It can be something like, hey, it's doing great. Thanks so much for asking. Well, there's a lot of things happening. I'm very excited. Thanks so much for your concern. As simple as that.
2. Change the subject

(05:29-05:37) Get really good at changing subjects. Now, this is what we call in NLP called a pattern interrupt. (05:57-06:34)

Instead of answering all the business questions, all your money or your bankruptcy or your debt or anything at all that makes you feel stressed. You know what? Get good at changing subjects and you can say, oh, I love this Steamboat that you have just made. What's in it? Yeah, I love this so bad. What ingredients do you use? Completely bypass what they have just asked you or yeah, it's doing great. What about you? What's new about you? New on your side? What's going on with you?
3. Be clear about what you want.
(07:29-08:03) If presence triggers you, then there are a couple of ways around it. You could just freak out, ask people, what do you want for your present or tell people what exactly you want for your present. Direct them. Don't just assume and don't make it a test of their love or their love language, and then blame them later. Okay, well, if they love me, my parents will finally get me the present I love. No, no, don't test them. Just tell them what you want. Don't worry about if people don't buy you the right stuff, just tell them.
4. Don't keep presents you don't like.
(09:16-09:45) If you get presents you don't like and it does trigger all memories, you don't have to keep them. You can say thank you graciously, but you do not have to keep them. You can go straight from your house and drop it off at the charity store. Someone else is going to love that. If you get presents a bit before the holiday season or festive season and you open them and you don't like it, you rewrap them and donate to charity.
5. EFT, Emotional Freedom Technique or tapping.

(11:30-12:08) This was a technique I learned in 2000 and I think 2008, and I love it so much. It's like my secret weapon when I'm going through emotional trenches and emotional laws. So if you are in your family house and you're getting triggered, go into the bathroom and do a little bit of tapping. Okay, now I would know that you will say even though I have these feelings, even though my family are annoying, even though nobody loves me and buys me presents that I like, I deeply and completely love and I set you myself. So say that to yourself.

Hello, Hello, and welcome to today's episode. I've completed an interview with the Lead to Greatness podcast and with this host, Cedric Francis. I loved this episode so much and I would love to share this interview with you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Turn your mess into your message.

(9:45-10:14) I think it's all about not being a victim of my circumstances, my mental, social, emotional circumstances. My mum encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and go towards the dreams I've always wanted to achieve because the sky is the limit and there's no storm that we cannot conquer. My mom keeps reminding me that adversity is just a past, something that doesn't hold us ransom. I applied this tremendously in my life, and I believe that our past does not equal our future.

What drives Genecia to empower women to go after what they want and their biggest dream?

(11:12-12:03) The three things would be I wanted to create a legacy and help women to have this A, B and C. Of course, A being awareness, having the awareness that they can have the F-Word, that it is possible for them, and B have the belief that they can have the courage to fly to wherever they want to go, C having the consistency to pursue and hammer at the constant goal that they want to go for. So the ABC is going to, even though it looks so simple, it's not

Complicated. It's very easy. You just need to focus on ABC and help them have the awareness, allowing me to connect with them. 

How has failure shaped her entrepreneurship journey?

(14:53-14:57) Failure has given me perspective. I think it's not just failure. These are just lessons.

(15:20-16:10) I had joined a partnership with my friends. And that was one of the reasons I went into the six-figure debt. They left me hanging we started a business together. There was no contract. There was nothing black and white. And it was just, okay, we are friends. So let's do something together and we join forces and we do a dating agency of sorts. But it didn't work out. And because I was a major shareholder, nothing was done. I lost a major amount of money. Right? And that left a scar in me. So typically, if I had not taken failure positively as a lesson learned, like, don't do business with friends? Because first and foremost, let me put it into context for you. It's about the value of money. 

(18:11-18:18) So where do you stand in terms of your failure? How do you view it? How will you turn it around for yourself? Remember my mother said, turn your mess into a message. 

How did she build one of the leading women support groups in Southeast Asia?

(20:43-21:10) Have an open heart. Think of yourself as a big tree. I think that's one you must be willing to give. I think to have a sustainable business model and help others in a way that allows them to take on the opportunity as well. So we run on a subscription-based business model. 

(21:35-22:06) So we always allow the women to ease into growth, whether it's an entrepreneurship journey or to acquire whichever effort their dream allows them to. So from $12, we move up to the next and then we move up to the different mentoring programs and stuff like that. So that progression is something that allows women to dip their fingers and toes into something that they want to do. And that's how we grow the network.

How did she successfully manage a fully digital company, working with remote employees from different parts of the world?

(22:56-23:56) I think first and foremost, you must have a project management tool. I use Asana. I do that, A-S-A-N-A, Asana. And then I use Skype for daily communications. And last but not least, we have a common place like Google and Dropbox, Google Drive and Dropbox to share files and things like that. I think that allows me to work with remote employees. I think there are three things I learned. I was never being able to let go of the task that I was doing work that was doing. I find that I became the bottleneck in my business. But if I were to grow a business scale business, I think the growth strategy is to learn how to delegate.

How to delegate?

(26:18-27:12) The mindset shift was to sit down and be diligently writing out the task of all the things that I want that I'm doing right now that I could potentially outsource and get someone else to do it. So that sitting my ass down was one of the hardest parts because you are doing it day in, day out. It's so simple and so straightforward for you. So it's so easy and has so much flow. But to sit down and list it out logically with clarity. It's something that requires a lot of effort and discipline and to tell yourself that if you write it down, then you can hand it over. When you write it down, then you can delegate. And that's how I come up with this workbook to teach people how to delegate 80% of their Todo list so that they can make money online.

Final Thoughts

(28:42-29:02) Step out of their comfort zone, quit thinking and start doing because what is life truly mean to you? Is it fear or is it the fabulous, the freedom, the financial independence and the happy family? Really? the sky is the limit and there's no storm you cannot conquer.

(29:27-29:35) Don't lose sight of your goals. Sometimes the shit hits the fence, pick yourself up and keep going forward.

In this episode we have a very special guest is none other than Kim Kiyosaki. She is an Internationally renowned speaker, best-selling author of “Rich Woman” and “Good Deal, Bad Deal”, Radio Show Host, Entrepreneur and Real Estate Investor. She is also the founder of the Rich Woman organisation. Kim realised early on in her career that she didn’t want to be an employee. In search of something more, she worked to develop her skills and made her first real estate purchase. She now controls millions of dollars of investment property and is committed to helping women achieve financial freedom through investing and taking control of their financial futures. 

Rich woman book

Kim Kiyosaki wrote the book entitled “Rich Woman”. Here she shared the inspiration behind the birth of the book: 

(3:45)The reason Genecia I wrote Rich Woman was because Robert and I, we travel the world teaching the Rich Dad philosophy taking two big groups and I will get up on stage and I will speak to the women for just a few minutes and at every event whether it's Singapore or we're London, Tokyo, Johannesburg wherever it was at the end of the event I’d always be surrounded by women and they had the same questions and the same issues and the biggest thing I realized is there's a huge huge huge demand for women to be educated about money and actually, we women, not only have we not been expected to know much about money but we’ve actually been taught to depend upon somebody else for our financial well-being.

Financial Literacy 

Financial independence is not based on gender. It happens through education. This is Kim’s encouragement for women to be financially secured:

(4:52)So my whole message is we need to be in control of our finances we need to step-up and be financially literate and ideally it's up to each one of us to be financially secured 

(5:07)Nobody’s gonna do that for us 

(5:09)No financial advisor no financial planner it's up to us. And it's not rocket science anybody can do it but it takes time and it takes education
 She added that to be financially stable requires a process: 

(6:17)Actually starting to take control of your finances starts very simple. You start small and take baby steps we don’t go for the big deals we stick with the small deals. And the most important thing is that understand there’s no secret sauce, there’s no magic pill 

(6:49)It’s a process and it’s a process of education, it’s a process of experience but it’s not difficult. 

(06:58)it’s just a matter of committing 

Risk taking in Business

You don’t have to have it all figured out to start a business. Oftentimes you don’t have anything but risk. Here’s how Kim started from nothing: 

(7:41)I started with nothing and I’m gonna tell you that the best thing of all is that I didn’t have the money, Robert and I did not have the money.  

(8:10)Probably for the first 10-12 real estate deals I did, I did not have the money now what that forces you to do is get very very very creative 

For Kim, she chose real estate as an avenue to invest:

(8:22)Once you see the property or whatever investment it is you’re interested in. Once you see it , and touch it and feel it then put your mind to work on how can I now get the money, how can I create the money in order to get the investment.

(9:54)What you want to do is create positive cash flow. My investment of choice is real estate there’s many other ways to gather cash flow whatever works for you.

(10:05)But we had 10 thousand dollars a month cash flow from our rental properties. But we only had 3 thousand dollars a month in living expenses. So at that point $10,000 coming in and $3,000 going out we were financially free. 
 

Achieving financial freedom

Financial freedom may seem difficult at first but it is not impossible. As Kim ventured into Real Estate this is what they experienced: 

(10:39)Number 1 I did not have to worry about money anymore and number 2 it gave me the luxury to ask myself what I really want to do with my life. So it’s all about financial freedom. 

(10:50)It’s about freedom, not so much about the money but freedom is that having choices to live the life you want to live. That’s what it’s about.

Filling up the gap in your cash flow

There’s no one way to fill the gap, but the key is education and being fearless. Here is Kim’s encouragement:

(11:57)I made a ton of mistakes, a ton.  I mean that’s the key to success, I’m gonna tell you right now, that the key to success is making mistakes everybody is still afraid of making a mistake, the only way we learn is by making a mistake. 

(12:24)The key is you gotta got into action I will always say get some education get some education get some financial education on the asset class you like and then once you have some education start very small take baby steps put a little money down because as soon as you put so many down my interest goes way up. 

(12:57)One thing I recommend for women especially is to go out and buy a 1 ounce silver coin. it’s been across 20 dollars US today. But what that does because you know got this asset this gold or silver coin all of the sudden your interest will go up will look at the prices of silver every single day, what’s it doing. Why is it up, why is it down? And because you’ve just parted with 20 dollars US you become this quasi expert on silver. 

(13:31)I’m a big believer in you’ve gotta  put some money down, get into the game and then that’s where the real learning happens. You gotta go out and do the real thing. 

Raising kids and being married while building your wealth

Your family, most importantly your kids should not be a reason for you not to seek for financial stability. Although Kim and Robert don’t have kids, she shared a very good example here: 

(14:09)Robert and I do not have kids, really by choice.

(14:19)But my girlfriends for example Lisa Lannon, she’s a Rich Dad advisor, she and her husband Josh, they have very successful businesses they have 2 kids they involve their kids in their business, they involve their kids in their investing so when they go out and lock at a property they bring the children along so they educate the kids as well as educate themselves. So for women, especially with the internet there’s so much opportunity offer in the internet for business and things like that I think the parent of course can be the best teacher. So why not include the kids. It amazes me how young kids get interested in money. They know about money. When their very very young. So why not educate them while your educating yourself. 

(15:14)I don’t think it has to be one or the other.  I think you can do it together.

(15:21)and same with the relationship same with couples I’m not advocating for the woman to go out there she’s married and she has a life partner then she goes out there and do this all by herself and separate from her spouse this is ideally investing it’s something you want to do together as a couple because you grow together you learn together. 

Invest in yourself
Being a woman is not an excuse to remain financially dependent on someone else. Be encouraged with Kim’s w...

In this episode, we’ll be empowered through the words of wisdom of our special guest. She is the Queen of her Empire, she has designed, constructed and protected a life outside of the ordinary. She has inspired a legion of followers to create their own empires – lives that are truly fulfilling and beyond the average. She counts her current job as her most important one – Chief Family Officer, where she is a loving mother, fierce wife and loyal friend.

Overcoming roadblocks

Elena’s life is quite challenging because she experienced a lot of struggles at a young age. She witnessed a fire across their house and killed two people despite their efforts to put out the fire.
 

(4:47)“At 14 years old not having anything so traumatic occur in my life I just wasn’t skilled enough at my age to deal with something like that and my father had fought in World War II and he was a military person and we’re just very conservative family. So it wasn’t like there was any time to really to cope it was life must go on.”

Despite all this roadblock she pushed her way to move and step forward which led her to become the independent woman that she is now.

Passion and desire

(5:55) “So at 17 I decided I’ve got to get out of here I’m going to Los Angeles I’m gonna be something I’m gonna become an actress.”

Indeed, because of her passion and desire she got her 2 and half month contract in Tokyo as a model and actress and became somewhat successful. She did  modeling, acting and commercials as well.

 Independent woman  

 (6:21)“When I met Grant the first five years of our marriage I was still doing this woman independent thing like we were married and I thought marriage is monogamy. I thought it was only about that. I didn’t realize that if I’ll partner up with someone it strengthens the numbers.”                                                  

(7:23) “When economic collapse occurred that’s when I decided to trade in my acting career which I was terrified to do because it was what I depended on for my survival since I moved to Los Angeles by myself at 17.”

Getting used to being independent as a teenager it was a challenge for Elena to see how a husband can contribute to her success as a woman.

“We had a power struggle because I am super independent and I don’t want anyone to control me”

Financial Freedom

(8:29) “ We wanted to take that power in our own hands, so I have this idea about this empire, okay if he is the king and I am the queen and this is our empire what do I want it to look like? Who do I want to surround ourselves with? Do we hang out with the people with drugs and alcohol?”

So, Elena and her husband cleaned up their lives because it’s part of being a positive influence. They focused on building their empire, foregoing all luxuries they enjoyed before to pool all their resources towards their business, until they become successful and gained financial freedom.
(9:18) “Now that we have created so much success in our lives financially we do have financial freedom not just financial independence.”
 

 Tips on How to work with a partner
(9:46)“A few little adjustments to get you both operating on the same page so that you can really utilize each other’s horsepower to push yourself instead of without even realizing it working against each other or you might go like this or you must like go straight down. But if you actually know how to work together and know each other’s roles, strengths and weaknesses and how you can build together, like push yourself on. Just eliminate the few incorrect pieces of datum because as they say “knowledge is power”.

(10:22)“If you get rid of bad key elements and then tweak and get on the same page it so much easier than you think. There’s still gonna be  work, there’s still gonna be sacrifice, it’s still gonna take time but you will be able to exponentially up the rocket faster”

Solving Problem

(11:02)“Stop thinking so much unless it’s a broad picture of possibility.”
 Start looking for the possibilities, start looking for the opportunities sometimes your biggest problem can be your biggest solution. If you are having that problem you figure out how to solve it, chances are if you solve that for other people you can scale that business out.

(11:45)“If you need to have help, if you need to, hire somebody while you figure this out don’t feel like you are a superhero and do everything yourself at some point maybe ask your friend to help you until you can afford to pay someone to help you but you just have to go out and do something.  Take action, stop thinking and do and you can do even if your knees are trembling, even if you think it’s not going to work and you feel ridiculous.”
 

Equipping women’s confidence
Women's are powerful. As Elena stated: 

26:27 I wanna equip women with the confidence. 

(26:36) I want women to mind their own goals who are they, not only a brand but as their contribution and not with hold that from the world like if we all lived up to our potential or try to fight for the greatness how could that impact the world. We could make a big difference wouldn’t  just be a fairytale idea in my head like there would be real transformation. If people actually deliver their gifts and I want women to expose that and give it to the world and stop with holding and stop thinking their not good enough. And stop thinking they have nothing to contribute. It’s so selfish women are so powerful, and so dynamic and there so aesthetic just imaging if the world operated that aesthetic wavelength you know how difference just that could be.

From short films to feature films and everything in between, what has Kelvin Sng not done? His debut film, the feature film Taxi Taxi, was one of the third highest-grossing films in Singapore in 2013 and won the Special Jewelry Award at the ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards that year. Marking that as the best film in Singapore, and the biggest defining moment of his filmmaking journey, Kelvin is also an educator and conducts masterclasses at festivals and has also been selected a couple of times in the coveted Torino Film Lab to produce his films and projects. Another award he's won is the VidC Shorty Award for December 2019 for the show BFF.

2. The only person who truly believes in you has to be yourself first. If you don't even believe in yourself, don't expect others to believe in you in the first place.

3. Identify your why. If you really want to do this then you must be mentally prepared to go through all the hardship.

4. Always maintain a spirit of learning and humility no matter how high you go.

5. Identify your purpose, hone your skills in communication, and always stay humble.

6. You have to go through a logical thinking process and it's okay to say no to people.

7. Start with your mind get it out and put it into action and be prepared for an exciting journey.

8. Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is the ability to still carry on despite fear.

How is the power of influence being manifested?

Sue B. shared about the power of influence and how she influences others. According to her:
(2:43)“The power of influence is when other people talk about you so you don’t have to talk about yourself. It’s the amplification and broadcast from other people sharing your knowledge.”

Being authentic

Sharing posts on Instagram is valuable. 
(3:23)“Meaning you educate, empower, or inspire in some way where someone scrolls to your feed and stops their thumb from scrolling, it’s a thumb-stopping content and they look at it and it changes something in their mind”

You must be careful in the posts that you will share on Instagram because there’s a lot of people who can see it and it can affect you a lot. After all not all you see on Instagram is true.

Sphere of influence

Being influential is quite challenging because you can’t please everyone. No matter what you are doing people can always comment on your act whether it’s good or bad. Sue stated that:
 (3:46)“ I think that that’s influential I think that, that is opportunistic, I think, that is a way to attract other people that you’re meant to be serving and to your point growing your business, growing your leads and sphere of influence.”

Don’t believe everything you’re looking at

Sometimes what we see is not always true. Because we are being played by some people. 
(7:30) “You’ve got to be showing yourself consistently over time and the space that you want to influence. Because there are many people who want to make money on Instagram like I want a hundred thousand followers so I can get paid to be an influencer” well number 1 is: Do not ever ever ever ever buy followers 2. Not every follower is equal it’s more important to be attracting the perfect follower who will ultimately buy your products or services or believe you when you endorse another product or service because they like you they like your brand and they like your business and they trust you.

Online success

No matter the platform passion is the starting point of success. Work on what you are passionate about.

(2:35) If you want to succeed online what you need to do is go and find something you are passionate about and go on and do that. So, that’s the first, if you don’t know what you’re gonna do as an entrepreneur you’re not gonna succeed online. You have to do something. You can’t just go with the vision of “I want to make money” that doesn’t work find something you’re passionate and solve a problem and make your solution ideally affordable and easy to use.

Content creation

Choose content that you are most comfortable with. Not because it worked for others it can work for you. Find your expertise and work from there.

(3:17 )The strategy for creating a lot of content is to find content that you create the easiest. Some people are gonna write, some people are gonna audio some people are better at the video. So find what you are naturally good at and do more of that content. 
 
(3:32) The second thing is, create a content calendar, which will help you map out when to write the content, when to release the content, which will help you do content in quality.

Journey towards success

We can’t escape the fact of experiencing the ups and downs in life. But most important how do we find a solution for the problem that we have. 

(4:20) A lot of ups and downs but the key is if you love what you’re doing you’ll continue pushing forward and you’re gonna make mistakes and learn from them and then just avoid making the same ones over and over again. And eventually, you’ll get to where you want to be.

Inspiration for content

You will always make time for what stirs you up.

(4:37) I love what I’m creating and if you are passionate it’s easy to create but if you are not passionate it’s like pulling teeth, it’s hard.

(5:05) You’ll find the time if you are truly passionate

Two heads are better than one

It is said that two heads are better than one and man can’t live alone. So in the business world, we need to look for someone who can help us in our business. 

(5:40) When you are a solo entrepreneur the best thing you can do is try to find a business partner. So, think of a marriage having two people is easier than one to raise kids and a family. 

With a business, you want to find someone else who is a business partner who has different skills than you.

(5:59) Find someone who complements you, who does different stuff that will help you grow faster.

Person of influence

Being a person of influence is quite challenging. But the question is how do we use our influence? We must always remember not to take advantage of the influence we have over others.

(6:10) My influence lies in entrepreneurs and marketers and I grew my influence by just helping people.

Knowing the Power of influence

Knowing influence will serve you as a leader in your family, community, and friends to the people that surround you. Being influential can be learned as Denise stated about the influence.

(2:30) “You could learn how to influence, you could learn how to be more charismatic and you could learn how to be a leader. You could persuade people, you could influence people to behave in a way that you actually want them to behave. But that would feel really good for them as well. And that’s when I got the concept of being a leader and leadership.” 

A woman of influence is a challenging role because you must be careful with the way you act and speak.

Common Myths about the power of influence

Sometimes we can’t escape the fact of being scared of something. (4:04)“So, one thing that I found a lot of women is scared about. They are actually scared of their own innate ability to be a leader and to influence others. Because they’re worried that it’s kinda bit manipulative. And they’re worried that they might use that power to do not-so-good things rather than do good things.”
 
A lot of people want to be influential but they don’t have the courage or sometimes they are too weak to withstand others that they are often taken advantage of. But most women want to become influential to touch and change lives.

(4:31) “A lot of women, want to influence people so they can help them transform their lives, they want influence people so they can encourage to do something good for themselves. But I think that's the misconception that people think or worry. That if they really enhance that power in themselves that will be very manipulative.”

Maximizing Women of Influence 

An empowered woman can do great things with her influence and touch many lives in wonderful ways. 

(10:12) “It has massive opportunities for women to have their own business to make their own money, empower other women, hire other women to inspire other women to do the same, that’s what  the world needs at the moment to make the smoothest shift to shape the world in ways that would benefit a lot of people.”

How do you measure influence?

(10:51) “Influence to some people means power. It means being on top, being the winner making and earning money; beating everyone else. For women, we can use our power for good so everyone thrive not just a few people and it’s not about beating other people. That’s why people shy away from this feeling of wanting to be influential, because we feel like, one person can do it.”

The downside of being influential 

(13:05) I don’t want to be political and controversial. 

I don’t want people to think badly about me. 

(13:43)You have to consider your words a little bit more.

Realizing the dream

Our life’s calling will come to us as we do our best in what we are currently working on. Like Veronica, the foundation for Success Resources came to her and her partner as she was attending seminars while still employed.
 

(1:15) So I stumble on personal development and realize there’s more to life, more to what we do and be better and bigger. 

(1:25) So I started to attend seminars and then, of course, over time because of the program, events that I do, we go, we meet the team of people, like my partner, Richard today, and my other business partner Patrick Liew. 

(1:55)When you love what you do just go into 27 years. 

Be mindful of the company that you keep

As we go along this life we will meet a lot of people, we will encounter different personalities and characters. So we need to make sure that the person or people we hang around are reliable and can build us up. In Veronica’s words, she said:
 
(2:08)  I was fortunate because, Then I was only an employee and I do go and attend a lot of enrichment program and then through the enrichment program I meet a lot of people and  is really like what we say today, it is about "who are you surrounded with?” Because the people you hang around within this area of learning and growing so that's how I chance upon it. 

(2:34)So I think it’s very important that you know who you hang around with. 

(2:39)You are the average of the 6 people you hang around with the most

(2:49)Most of the time I hang around with my husband which is my business partner now Richard Tan, the other partner Patrick Liew was really very instrumental to train me to expose me to the area of public speaking and meeting people. Other than that person that I’m very influenced by is my family members and then the speakers that I hang around with. So, in the early days, it was people really like Robert and Kim Kiyosaki whom we started with until today is actually 20 years of partnership that we become good friends. Through Robert and Kim, we really got to understand the power of personal growth and business development, financial investment. 

(03:44) The last person is Tony Robins these are the people who have influenced us in what we do today in the area of our business ethics, work ethics, and the way we treat people.

We must be wise in choosing who we call friends or partners in life.

Business Ethics and  Principles 

In this life, we do have different business ethics and principles. How we grow our business will affect how we treat people that surround us. Veronica and her husband are strong believers in treating people well.

(4:21) Number 1. Love people- Everybody has greatness in them. So look at everybody you’ll see their greatness, you’ll see their goodness that nobody’s born to be a bad person “Always look at the greatness of somebody” and ask yourself what can I do to bring out the best in this person. So it’s people's development. 

(4:49) We believe in people and we value people we look at people big and small.

(5:05) From the non-successful ones we call them small people and then we coach, build them bring the best out of them and that they become great. So we believe in people.

(5:18) The second one is about honesty and trust. We cannot do things alone if you don’t trust your team, you don’t trust people, you don’t trust your partners, you don’t trust the speaker then nothing will happen. Then you’ll be so careful and so cautious then you will fall into the scarcity mindset. Because you don’t trust so you start with trusting people first. 

(5:42) and then you control risk. I think things can go sour, go bad, So what? So Most important is you know it’s a controlled risk, you have to trust the process, trust the universe that all would be great. 

From nothing to Something

We all start from scratch, most of us started small before we become great and successful.

(6:42) We evolve from starting as a small team and grow along the way definitely we faced challenges in the area of people. Recruiting people, finding the wrong people. In the end whom you trust did not turn out the way you wanted. And of course, some consequences but they happen but again so what? 

Making Mistakes

We will make mistakes, we should not dwell on them but use them as a learning experience.
 
(7:23)We made mistakes in the area of working with the wrong people and then we also made mistakes in the area of finding the wrong speakers sometimes we are not perfect.

(8:09)So in the end, I do have struggles with speakers I picked wrongly but again so what? 

Having Faith

Running a business is never easy, it is not a walk in the park. But according to Veronica with faith, your business will grow. Here are more of her words of wisdom: 

(8:55) I know I have faith and have a God. If you are obedient, you are faithful  I believe God will take care of us.  So if you do the right thing again, the universe will take care of us.

(9:14)You’re doing the right thing the universe will bless you, will open doors for you so there is an element of certainty and trust in yourself first. Now can I make mistakes? Of course. That’s why I said so what because it’s an experience that makes me a better person. 

Work-Life Balance 

Part of being truly successful in managing all areas of your life. 

(10:05) My favorite line is that it’s true, you can’t have two persons at one time in managing. I call it value or rules. Richard, I make him the head of the business, head of the family I just stay as a neck. So, you know the neck actually controls the head. 

But yet you give him you want to be the head. 

(10:35) And you just stay as a neck to manage them. And tell them to turn left, turn right turn up, look down so because of these so-called values and principles I have with my husband, so we don’t clash, we don’t fight as much, as you hear other people can’t work with their spouse. Because there’s always conflicting values and conflicting instructions so we are quite clear with that and that’s what kept us working happily for 27 years.

Managing a team

Handling a group of people can sometimes be a challenge. Here is a nugget of truth that Veronica wants to share.

(11:34) Everything is by agreement, so I have a prearranged agreement with my team, my husband.

(11:47) We are a team, we need each other. You are great at doing this, I’m great at doing this so let’s not cross boundaries, then coupled with respect. 

(11:59) Respect the agreement, that okay you do your thing and I will do mine. We welcome feedback. We make mistakes, if there’s feedback don’t get upset and learn.&n...

Welcome to today’s episode! The part 2 of 21 Lessons from launching Soul Rich Woman and many other launches. 

(1:25-11:44) Number 11. Now, LAUNCH RESISTANCE IS REAL. Now, everyone experiences it so the fact that if you have resistance, people have resistance signing up for your programs, products, or your services doesn’t mean that you’re not meant to launch.

(1:54-2:09) There are a lot of resistance. People ask questions, funny questions, weird questions, interesting questions, you know. Don’t take it as a sign to stop. Just keep going even though people are resisting.

(2:40-3:03) Number 12. REFUNDS WILL HAPPEN. They are a business right of passage and are inevitable. Do not stress about it. Doesn’t mean when people ask for a refund, you are not good or you are lousy because everyone get refund request all the time.

(3:41-3:49) So celebrate the wins and focus on that rather than celebrating and focusing on the negative, right?

(3:50-4:03) 13. PEOPLE WILL STEAL YOUR STUFF. Now don’t stress too much about protecting all your IP. I mean, some people will join, competitors will join, and steal your stuff

(4:07-4:26) I mean get legal on them if you need to put Terms & Conditions in place. Don’t hide for fear that this will happen. Now, this is pretty rare and lots of people will miss out on your goodness if you let the fear of all these copycats stop you from launching.

(4:27-4:30) Number 14. PEOPLE WILL UNSUBSCRIBE. 

(4:33-4:35) Unsubscribes will go up during a launch.

(4:47-4:53) And when I launch Soul Rich Woman there were unsubscribes because maybe it’s not relevant to them. 

(4:55-5:13) That’s okay because we can’t just hold on to the people forever. I mean people’s needs and people’s seasons will change, right? It’s nothing personal. Just turn off those unsubscribe notifications and celebrate for those who stay on your list.

(5:18-5:30) Number 15. PEOPLE WILL GET PISSED OFF BY WHAT YOU’RE SELLING. Now people will get irrationally angry that you’re selling something even if you’re giving away 90% of your stuff for free. 

(5:31-5:56) I am a true-blue experiencer for that. That’s why I have to tell you this. It sucks, okay? And it hurts. I already did 3,000 episodes of Facebook live- FREE, content that I teach and share my knowledge. And then people get angry about the stuff that we are selling, right? But you know what? It’s okay for you to make money from your business. If people don’t like it, they don’t buy it, that’s okay.

(6:03-6:22) Number 16. PLAN BUT NOT TOO MUCH. Don’t get caught up in creating the perfect planning spreadsheet or that perfect launch spreadsheet. You know what? A simple google document to-do list will do just fine. Action beats perfect planning every time. 

(6:38-6:41) Number 17. YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO IMPLEMENT EVERYTHING. 

(6:42-6:46) What is on the paper and what is in your head sometimes, don’t get translated out to reality.

(6:48-6:56) You can just keep a file of ideas for next time. Okay? You won’t be able to implement everything this time but it’s handy to keep it in one place so you remember. 

(7:28-7:38) Even though you won’t be able to implement everything now, you will still be able to implement something especially after more experiences accumulated.

(7:38-7:47) Number 18. INCENTIVIZE AND SUPPORT YOUR AFFILIATES. I’m a true believer of affiliates or what we called associates partners 

(7:50-8:04) Because they will help you to sell more because you are also leveraging on their audience. But it takes work to support them. Like you need to increase your customer service capabilities because your affiliates will have a lot of questions. 

(8:38-8:56) I don’t assume that they know how to become an affiliate of Soul Rich Woman or an associate partner of Soul Rich Woman and EduPac. You have to spell it out, literally. Like how to log in, how to use your affiliate links, how to market well, how to even talk about your program. 

(9:14-9:19) You will also attract different types of affiliates depending on the price of your program. 

(9:32-9:37) And people love competitions so have a sales or a leads competition.

(9:56-9:58) Launching- don’t do it alone.

(10:02-10:18) Number 19. MINDSET, MINDSET, MINDSET. I worked through so many blocks during the launch. Book in with your mentor to smash through the blocks. Talk to your mastermind everything you need to keep your vibration high.

(10:18-10:33) 20. MISTAKES ARE INEVITABLE AND VERY VERY VALUABLE. You are going to make mistakes, I confirm and I guarantee that. And that’s fine because each time you launch you’re going to get better and better. Each time you launch you’re going to build on the next level of success. 

(10:34-10:37) Number 21.  DON’T COMPARE. Everyone starts from zero.

(10:56-11:03) We all start somewhere, alright? Don’t assume that everyone has seen your stuff. Launch it again!

(11:05-11:10) I hope that you are ready for your next step. I really admit that.

Today I want to talk about the 21 Lessons from launching Soul Rich Woman, doing our membership programs, and I would love to share them with you.

The Biggest Lessons

 (1:31-1:49) Here are some of the biggest lessons from our biggest launch ever. Number 1, Life happens so get prepared- Life always happens. During the month we launch Soul Rich Woman we have lots of stuff going.

(2:00-2:03) It’s really helpful to do at least some stuff in advance

(2:05-2:16) Because let’s face it, life doesn’t stop just because you are launching your business or launching a podcast. Don’t leave everything to the last minute.

(2:16-2:21) Number 2, Get support. Now, you don’t really have to do it all by yourself.

(2:25-2:43) I mean whether it’s your podcast or your book or your business, whether it’s a product-based business or a service-based business, I want to tell you this: Outsource as much as possible because it will multiply your output.

(2:51-3:08) You can get people from Fiverr or Elance if you don’t have a big budget because there are so many… so much moving pieces to launch a business or podcasts or everything or otherwise go check out https://www.instanttribeleader.com/ 

(3:35-3:36) Number three,

(3:37-3:40) Sales pages take forever!

(3:42-3:51) When you build a sales page to launch either your business, your podcasts, your products, or your services, sometimes it will take 10x or a hundred times longer than you will think. 

(4:02-4:07) Even with an existing sales page, making tweaks take so much longer than you think. 

(4:15-4:33) Good sales page can take hours and hours of your time. So do it early and take some time to sometimes take a breathe off and away from your sales page so that you can come back with a different perspective and continue working on them. So never ever do it last minute.

(4:33-4:38) Number 4. Email cannot be your only marketing channel 

(4:39-4:57) Don’t assume that everyone reads your emails. And honestly, deliverability over the years since I started going online since 2013 has gone down because of stronger spam filters, promotional folders, and email fatigue.

(4:58-5:11) You have to promote on all your marketing channels. From your podcast to your Facebook, to your LinkedIn, to your Instagram, to your Tiktok, to your emails, to Facebook ads, wherever.

(5:31-5:41) It is important that email can’t be your only marketing channel. And also people are often decluttering their inbox and even their FB feeds with apps.

(6:39-6:46) Number 5. Spell stuff out for your customers. You see people don’t always read too closely. 

(7:03-7:18) We have so much problems with people who just don’t read at all even though they’re provided step-by-step instructions like arrows pointing here, arrows pointing there, to tell them the really obvious stuff. 

(7:38-7:43) Sometimes, no matter how many times you say it, you’ll still get emails or WhatsApp.

(7:54-8:09) When actually, everything is done automated. All you need to do is just fill up the form for the Make It Happen micro podcast show and record on the phone itself. Just submit a voice note or voice recording of 3 to 5 minutes recording using your phone.

(8:11-8:12) You don’t need a fancy microphone.

(8:15-8:18) People are just busy. They don’t read at all.

(8:19-8:23) Number six. Pretty doesn’t necessarily sell.

(8:40-8:58) To be frank, don’t try and get too cute with design in your materials logo, no problem. But honestly, sales page can be really simple. Don’t let your Buy Now button or Sign up now button get lost in the crowd of beautiful images.

(8:59-9:00) Number seven. Track your conversions.

(9:05-9:15) Now if you don’t understand that 1 to 2% of people will buy over time the statistics will play out. Unless you are doing more high-touch selling, then YES you can convert higher.

(9:16-9:20) Number 8. Book in self-care. Take care of yourself. Have self-love.

(10:04-10:14) So really, it’s important to put them together and put yourself together so that you can care for yourself while building and launching your business. 

(10:31-10:36) Number 9. Track and celebrate every success.

(10:56-11:04) Number 10. Deadlines, bonuses, and incentives work. You really need to build up your deadlines, your bonuses, and incentives.

(11:10-11:16) Humans need scarcity and deadlines to motivate them. So get it done.

Welcome to today’s episode. I’m your host, Genecia Alluora. Today I want to talk about a huge lesson in self-love. The power of self-love is key to a lot of women’s success.

 A  lot of women are extremely nurturing and loving to everyone except themselves. Some psychologists say is because from an early age girls are taught to be helpful, selfless, and no to trouble anyone. I think it causes some women to feel guilty as if they are not worth spending time or money on or even asking for help. This attitude has a direct impact on our weight, health, relationships, sex, and success and holds back so much potential that could make a huge difference in the world to own and love the F-word.

Take care of yourself

(2:21-2:25) Now, I have to admit being one of the worst in self-love. 

(2:29-2:42) I was on the ground with several jobs on the go. As a waitress, I was teaching yoga, aerobics, line dancing and not giving myself physical care or even rest.

(2:44-2:59) Now, I remember a really bad time in my life when my self-care was at an all-time low. Now, it serves as a powerful reminder that I am in control of how I feel about myself.

(4:12-4:30) Of course today, I am much better now. But I have to remind myself that I’m allowed to take care of myself lovingly and I deserve a great relationship. That even though It’s something that I still need to work on, at least I’ve come a long way since that day.

Self-love is important

(4:31-4:54) So why is self-love so important? Now, there are some women who seem effortlessly, confidently, beautiful and things just magically happen for them. They might not be the smartest, the nicest, or the most attractive, but there’s something indefinable that makes them stand out like a star.

(4:55-5:38) And usually, these women get what they want because they ask for it and they feel like they deserve it. It’s just as simple as that. They think nothing of treating themselves as they would a special friend or someone they love. This is not selfish. This is a form of self-love and acceptance. Now self-love and self-care is not just about buying yourself flowers, going to the hairdresser, going for massage, but treating yourself how you would treat others. This includes forgiving yourself for mistakes in any area of your life. It’s about being kind to yourself.

What makes you feel special and loved?

(7:02-7:20) For me, I love spending time alone in solitude. Sitting in my beautiful space, either at home or in a park, or just listening to podcasts and enjoying the beauty around me along East coast park.

(7:21-7:32) When I’m busy, fun things go out of the window. And when we are busy, fun things go out of the window because we think we don’t have time. 

(7:33-7:51) When money is tight, we feel guilty about spending money on non-essential experiences. The reason why it’s so important is that when we laugh and have fun - we feel lighter and happier. And this affects how we treat our bodies as well. 

(8:04-8:13) Don’t let budget issues hold you back from self-care. It’s usually a reflection of how you treat yourself on the inside

(8:36-8:47) Now there are plenty of things you can do that don’t cause too very much money to have very good self-care and therefore power of self-love is unleashed.

Today I’m doing to share with you that You are totally worth it and confidently beautiful like Miss Universe and Mister Manhunt, or a clean shirt, or a new notebook, or fabulous hair, whatever that you are totally worthy of or confidently beautiful of. Fabulous, Freedom, Financial Independence- whatever that may be to you. It’s entirely up to you.

You Matter

(1:49-2:13) Recently, I read something that Oprah said that struck me. Apparently, rich people will still smell their workout shirts to see if they can wear them again. She realized that she was doing it one day and said to herself, “I deserve to wear a fresh, clean shirt, and I’m worth it.”

(2:48-3:12) Now I told this story at my recent workshop, Soul Rich Woman Blueprint because I utterly believe that great success comes down to self-worth. You show other people how to treat you by the way you treat yourself. But also you will need to send a very strong message to the Universe that you deserve more and are ready for more.

(3:31-3:39) I just wanna say this, you are worth it, and you deserve whatever you want to create in this world. You matter. 

(3:43-3:51) I totally believe in not being wasteful, but many women take the whole self-sacrificing way too far.

(4:41-4:46) I told myself that I really deserve to have an easy life.

(5:01-5:10) So I just wanna tell you that there are some clues that you might be treating yourself like a poor thing or poor person. It’s like a poor mindset.

(5:41-5:55) Like for example, you are only shopping in thrift stores or what we call like the second-hand stores when other people in your family get newer and nicer clothes or because you feel bad about spending money.

(6:03-6:15) Or sometimes you have this thing like you try to do everything yourself, to do something yourself. For example, dyeing your own hair, or tinting your own eyelashes or eyebrows with disastrous results.

(6:54-6:59) But you know it just makes you feel different.

(7:01-7:11) Perhaps you are already widely successful in one area of your life so you would feel guilty if you were great at any… everything.

(7:34-7:59) Well, a lot of women think that when they become the little Miss perfect, they are being arrogant. They think they’re bossy. They think that they become unrelatable so they don’t go all out. They just choose to function in one F-word for example- Fabulous- and they are poor in Financial Independence. Their marriage is not very amazing as well. 

(8:00-8:14) But I wanna tell you here, you can have it all. No guilt, no sacrifice required. Just decide that you are worth living an amazing life to be confidently beautiful because you are worth it.

(8:15-8:30) However, this starts with you. The Universe isn’t going to treat you like a VIP until you do. So celebrate and anchor positive experiences.

(8:37-8:49) So really, you see measurable results in the real world when you show self-nourishing action. This is a sign to the Universe that you are ready. 

(8:58-9:12) Remember it’s how it makes you feel. FEEL- the feeling is very important. Remember, good feelings attract good feelings and that’s how the law of attraction works. 

(9:14-9:39) And like I said if you do this you might just attract the new opportunity that will push you to the new path. Well, it’s not going to happen outside yourself. In fact, the first step is deciding whether you’re worth it, whether you decide to own your F-word, whether you are confidently beautiful and then you’ll be proved right every time.

Today in this episode, I wanna talk about what you want to be when you grow up, and it’s never too late to find your dream job. 

Everyone loves to ask our children that question. Mainly because they will say very interesting things, like a doctor, astronaut, maybe a ballerina, a veterinarian. Of course, children aren’t so bothered by the fact that they’ll one day need a job that pays the bills or need to have skills that will pay the bills or care about making sensible decisions and choices. They just want to do what makes them happy. 

What was your burning desire as a child? 

(3:16-3:31) Most people have a secret dream of what they want to be and to do with their lives. Some are already living it - either as a career or as a hobby. Other’s are too scared to even articulate what they want. 

How do you discover your dream job or your purpose in life?

(3:39-3:47) Look for clues. Now, finding your ideal job or purpose is really obvious when you connect the dots when you look back.

(3:54-4:14) It’s really been a dream for a really long time, or it just fits perfectly with your innate skills and talents. People who find their passion in life say that “Everything just came together.” or “All of my experiences in life has led me to this.” 

(4:23-4:27) Clues can be found in childhood as well.

(4:53-5:08) If you have no idea but you know for sure that you’re not doing it because anything about what I’m doing now isn’t specific enough for the universe to manifest the right opportunities, people, and resources to help you along the way.

(5:15-5:50) First, “What do you love to do?”. Two, “What have you always dreamt about doing with your life?”. Three, “What do other people tell you that you are fantastic and fabulous at?”. Number 4, “What dream courses do you think about taking all the time?”. Number 5, “If you didn’t have to worry about taking a pay cut, what about other people thought about you doing with your life? What would you do?”.

(5:56-6:04) These are the questions sometimes I ask and talk about on my lectures as well as in my coaching with my clients.  

(6:05-6:42) So I would say take the first steps and do it afraid anyway because once you have an inkling and idea of your passion like a light bulb of AHA moments, then you can take some steps towards changing your career or living in your purpose. For example, volunteering, shadowing someone in your chosen field, being an apprentice of Soul Rich Woman, taking it on a side hobby, or completing a course like a Soul Rich Woman Blueprint to get new qualifications. It doesn’t matter how old or young are you- time is gonna pass by anyway.

(7:13-7:14) Life is really short.

(7:17-7:18) You only live once. 

(8:28-8:51) So I would say, make the change. I know that making drastic changes can be scary, I get it. But it’s also liberating. Quitting a horrible job is awesome. Applying for your new dream job is a great step in the right direction, but you have to do something. Otherwise,  you’ll stay exactly where you are now.

(8:53-9:45) And if you can’t afford to make the change, then start to plan how you could ease into a new career without completely derailing your life or cause yourself so much stress. Put aside a bit of money for your program, start changing your spending habits now to anticipate a drop in income, or spare some time outside your current job to move towards your dreams- #Sidehustle. Now, you might be working late nights and weekends for a while, but I guaranty, it will pay off eventually and you will enjoy because it will be entirely for you. Remember this is about you. It’s never about me. You investing in yourself is not gonna change my life one bit.

(9:55-10:02) Even just indulging in your passion as a hobby that will make big changes in your life, do it.

What are you doing or going to do to make a change in your life?

(10:52-11:04) My answer to you? OWN IT. As you make the transition into your new life you have to start seeing yourself in a new way before other people will. 

(11:38-11:41) What you say becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. 

(12:45-12:54) Now, if you feel uncomfortable telling people your dream, then get out there and get some experience. Everyone has to start somewhere.

(12:59-3:10) Don’t be embarrassed, okay, if you have to start at the bottom. And sometimes with purpose and passion fueling you? You won’t be there for long.

(13:32-14:07) When you grow outside of your limitations, fears, and self-doubts. When you grow out of the need of needing other people’s approval. When you grow out of living up to the expectations of others. When you grow out of those neigh slayers and dream slayers giving you co-blanket. When you finally give yourself permission to dream and be happy. I love to hear about how you’re making your dream a reality one step at a time.

Welcome to today’s episode with Genecia Alluora. Author of two best-selling books, Make It happen and Personal Branding  Secrets. “In today’s episode, I wanna talk about what to do when the law of attraction isn’t working for you.”

Law of Attraction

(1:25-1:33) When I first came across the law of attraction very much earlier in my career, it’s really very very exciting.

(1:40-1:52) So you think,” Oh my god! How could this be possibly true? Can I just really ask for something and get it, Genecia? This is amazing.”

(1:53-1:56) You see you can set goals, make a dream board, and wait.

(1:58-2:20) And you feel like you’ve done everything right because you pasted all the photos, the images, the car you want, the house you want, the husband you want, the money you want. And so you get really pissed off because nothing happens, right? So you said to the universe, ” Hello, why Universe, you’re not giving me, where’s all the things I asked for on my dream board?”

(2:23- 2:31) I had someone ask me for advice recently, and she was confused about how this works. She love following our podcast show.

(2:38-2:54) And she was incredibly frustrated. She’s like, “Genecia, I’m really panicking. I have no money in my bank account right now and I’ve got three big bills to pay this month. What am I supposed to do?”

(2:55-3:15) So I say, “To start with, stop feeling bad and scared about it. It will only make it worse. So even though you’re worried, start by,  first, affirming that everything will be okay. Two, visualizing you paying the bills easily. Three, feel the feeling of being so taken care of by the Universe.”

(3:16-3:34) And she said, “ You don’t understand what I’m saying. How am I supposed to do that when no money in my bank account? It’s true! Everything that you’re saying is lovely, Genecia. But in reality, there is nothing there in my bank account.”

(3:36-3:46) So you see, negative affirmations are just as powerful as the positive ones. When you say, “I have no money, I’m broke.”

(3:55-4:07) You will only perpetuate the feelings of fear and anxiety. Which will probably attract even more bills and unexpected expenditure.

(4:08-4:15) And the funny part about the situation was that she couldn’t see the pattern. Of course, I mean because I am the mentor, right?

(4:19-4:29) But then again, after communicating with her, she still couldn’t see it. So she was constantly experiencing this feeling of having no money. 

(4:35-4:45) And she was unwilling to look inside and change. I told her to stay positive and to affirm that something would come up. 

(4:47-4:55) And it did. Someone eventually did give her money out of the blue, and she was saved that very month. 

(4:57-5:16) Then the horror story came. The next month she wrote to me again and said, “Genecia, I did another Law of attraction experiment like you said and asked for $2000 to show up today, and it didn’t. Why?”

(5:44-5:53) But you know what, there is a process here. It’s not always going to show up instantly if you’re not willing to do the inner work involved.

(5:55-6:16) It’s really so much fun when things manifest instantly. But most of the time, there is a time lag, and there’s no way of knowing how long. Why? Because imagine between us and our dream and the things we want to manifest, there’s so many blocks in between.

(6:20-6:38) The faster you want to manifest something, it only makes sense if you clear or de-trash your garbage, the clutter, in your life. Especially in your mind. Because we are not truly aligned to what we want and we have to do some emotional or physical decluttering. It can be symbolic.

(6:43-7:01) To let the Universe do its job. We may have to look at self-beliefs that we have around money or take stock of some of our bad habits. Most people can’t be bothered and they just wanted instant solution and find a magical fairy.

(7:05-7:17) And not do any work towards it or change their behavior in any way. And to make matters worse, they will keep complaining and whining and they love to blame people. 

(7:19-7:27) Because you know what? My law of attraction method didn’t work for her. The Soul Rich Woman blueprint didn’t work for her because she’s complaining, she’s not willing to do the inner work.

(7:29-7:33) “It’s somebody else’s fault!” And they are always blaming someone else.

(7:34-8:06) If you have done some emotional decluttering. They are very clear, and you’re very clear on your goals and you are taking some actions every day, then your desire, your dream, your goals will show up eventually. However, it is incredibly important during the time length to remain totally aligned to the feeling of the outcome. It will be hard to be open to new opportunities and possibilities if you are worried and stressed. 

(8:11-8:25) You have to feel it before you have it. And that can be very tough for some people. When you allow doubt and resistance to come in, you will actually block your natural flow and ease to receive abundance.

(8:40-8:53) Trust me. You can learn to be lucky, to be able to attract the F-word into your life- Fabulous, Freedom, Financial Independence, and happily; easily and effortlessly. 

(8:54-9:04) The trick is to master the Soul Rich Woman Blueprint, to stay positive even when your reality is temporarily something totally different.

(10:19-10:27) I just wanna say this, “Believe it before you see it, I guarantee it. Your stuff is on its way”.

In today’s episode, I wanna talk about your 1st step in becoming a millionaire starting today. I work with women who have big dreams. I’m not just talking about 7 figures, I’m talking about game-changing status. To those women who have a tremendous vision for their lives. I know that they are going to make it happen. (1:45-1:59) Now one of the first steps when working with a new client is typically, “Tell me about your dream day exercise.” You know the exercise where you share your million-dollar lifestyle.

(2:15-2:37) So after my client is done dreaming, I ask “How can you start living that millionaire lifestyle now? Like right now?”. 99% of the time, my client would usually tell me “Huh? What do you mean? I do have money now, you know. That’s why I’m hiring you as my mentor and coach to guide me, right?”.

(2:40-3:16) Then I ask again “How can you start living your millionaire lifestyle right now?” I insist that you, and also my clients, to make room right now for what’s to come. Because if your mind is completely clotted you must declutter in order for you to be able to receive. If you don’t seed right before you can achieve it, then how are you going to visualize it and eventually achieve it.

(3:19-3:50) So I just wanna tell you something that will blow your mind. The psychological reason why making space for a million-dollar lifestyle right now is so important because if you act as if and if you see it before you achieve it, it allows you to manifest your dreams because you are taking a leap of faith. You act on faith. It requires you to expect things to come to you as if you already had what do you want.

(3:51-3:56) But I just wanna tell you this, “Money does not make people happier”.

(4:05-4:19) Now psychologists can measure the levels of people’s happiness through instruments such as inventories and assessments. Here are some more complex statistics that from the research I think that drives the point home.

(4:20-4:31) The key thing here is there is no difference in the levels of happiness between a person that makes 50 thousand dollars and 50 million dollars.

(4:56-5:12) Your happiness levels don’t change, no matter how high your income climbs. So that extra money you make isn’t going to bring extra happiness. I mean the key to happiness is really finding happiness right now.

(5:26-5:41) Happiness is about how you can bring the joy into the present moment. So it’s time to step into the joy of what your future lifestyle will afford you because you can have a piece of it right now. 

(5:45-6:02) You don’t have to wait. So here’s your assignment, how can you start living your million-dollar lifestyle right now? Pick one in your life that becomes a non-negotiable expense or a non-negotiable gift.

(6:03-6:21) For example, want to travel monthly? Well, start by saving so you can have a trip at least once a year. Imagine driving a really fancy car? Well, rent one from a luxury dealership or car dealer for the weekend. 

(6:25-6:55) Start to strategize how you can delegate tasks to an assistant to give you more time freedom. And go to the resource https://www.instanttribeleader.com/ . In today’s episode, I wanna share with you 10 ways you’re showing the universe you’re not worthy of living an abundant life. Now, do you feel like you’re not worthy of having an abundance or happy life? Are there ways you’re showing the universe that you’re not confident, and unworthy?

Make-do Solution

(1:25-1:31) Just over the weekend, something happened to my studio. There were a lot of flies in the studio.

(1:50-2:01) And they were all flying around in the room. It’s those very small flies and these are the flies that we find in the toilet. So we tried to clean it ourselves.

(2:12-2:21) There were so many things that we did ourselves. And after the cleaning, it did not get better.

(2:38-2:56) So it can get really quite scary. And finally, after many days of staring at those flies, I finally called a cleaning company or a pest company who specialize in getting rid of pests to help us.

(3:06-3:34) And they came around with their giant machine and it took less than 15 minutes and they cleared everything and that cost us $200. Now, $200 to solve the problem. In fact, remove the problem immediately and completely thus saving me the torture of having flies flying around me during my recordings.

(3:40-3:49) But I have to admit, I was first reluctant to pay it because I thought that I could do it myself and get my partner to do it myself.

(3:50-4:01) As I was coaching with clients this week, I told this story repeatedly because as women entrepreneurs we often look for the Make-Do Solution. 

(4:04-4:09) We feel like we should know how to do it alone.

(4:13-4:49) We not only try to do the thing ourselves and we try to do it for good measure. Now, these might be trivial things, everyday things- trivial, small, tiny. But trust me, If every time you choose the cheaper option or what we call the economy class option rather than the VIP version, you’re telling the universe that you’re not ready for more. That you’re not confident to receive more. You’re just trying to find ways, so-called for value or trying to save your money. 

(5:12-5:31) So we try to make things difficult for ourselves because we are reluctant to pay the money for the right solution that can solve in minutes. And we think that we should do it ourselves or deep down we don’t believe that we deserve the very best yet.

10 Examples

(5:50-6:03) In your business and career, try to do everything yourself from websites to PR, paying bits and pieces of money for piecemealing solutions together that don’t quite work.

(6:05-6:14) Being reluctant to higher help or outsource or delegate, because we’re just too busy and besides nobody can do it like me.

(6:16-6:26) Sticking with the web designer or graphic designer that doesn’t work for you anymore because you feel bad about leaving or asking for what do you really want.

(6:29-6:56) Waiting to get a new laptop, iPad, iPhone because you can’t justify the expenses yet or you don’t feel ready for the best equipment. Or maybe someone is telling you you shouldn’t spend your money on an iMac 2020 latest version because the earlier version just before the new version is released is going to be way much cheaper.

(6:58-7:13) Having sub-standard hate shots, business cards, websites, and being too embarrassed to send them to potential clients. Not having a dedicated space for your business for the fear of inconveniencing other people.

(7:15-7:34) Using a very lousy chair that doesn’t help you with your posture. Doesn’t allow you to sit longer hours in comfort and then pay and spend a fortune in going to chiropractic or going for Tui Na or Tie ta.

(7:36-7:49) Life in general. Skipping lunch or feeding yourself with leftovers. Feeling terrible as a mother for putting your kids in Daycare just to get some “me time” to work on your business. 

(7:50-8:06) Feeling guilty about getting a babysitter or a part-time cleaner in, but getting frustrated with the messy house and spending your Saturday’s and Sunday’s cleaning or fighting with your partner about whose turn is it to clean the toilet.

(8:08-8:14) Being loyal to a hair or beauty person even if you aren’t happy with the service anymore.

(8:16-8:24) Resenting your partner because they always seem to buy new clothes, new shoes, when they need them without feeling guilty about it.

(8:25-8:42) Putting off Health maintenance like dental, optical because you’re scared of the cost. Wearing outdated clothes or glasses or feel like laser is something that other people do, but not you.

(8:45-9:34) So all these things I’ve just mentioned, where in your life and business are you trying or are you at today honestly? I mean the good news is every time you choose the VIP option, every time you choose to honor yourself, to love yourself, to take care of yourself first, and you take care of your time first, and let’s face it, your mental health. The universe rewards you. Sometimes that costs money, sometimes it’s inconvenient, and yes sometimes you will feel guilty. But you know what my dear? Take action. Pick one thing in your day-to-day life that is causing you unnecessary waste of energy and immediately upgrade it.

(10:07-10:25) I know that I love myself, and I set myself free. And this is my time and I’m ready for the next step. And for you, if you’re feeling tired, you’re feeling frustrated with your not enough time, not enough freedom, book in the Virtual Assistant. Delegate. Outsource.

Then it will have a huge impact in your manifesting ability, your ability to receive because you are subconsciously telling yourself that, “Yes! This is my time and I’m ready for the next step.” And you are showing the universe that you are worth more than that and you will be rewarded for it.

(11:45-11:57) We all have a part to play in this. This is your time and you are ready for the next step. The more you take action in a consistent way the faster you build momentum and really grow your business.

We all go through stages of feeling bad about ourselves. Do you have those days when you are convinced that everything you do is crap? And you are never going to make it anyway so why bother anyway?

(2:25-2:38) Start with “I’m proud of” and all the important question is “What else?”. Now you have to keep asking yourself that question until you have 50 success.

(2:43-2:56) Or something that you can talk about positively and celebrate it. I would say something like wins, having big wins. So you can do this exercise at any time.

(3:21-3:30) The list of, I would say, wins is important. But the question “What else?” is extremely important.  

(4:26-4:27) Keep celebrating.

(4:40-4:44) Keep asking and keep asking and don’t give up.

(4:46-5:07) I would say bragging, celebrating your success, celebrating small wins, is good for you. It’s emotional health, my dear. It’s awesome to remember everything. It’s great for manifesting to acknowledge your wins. Big and small so that you can attract. 

(5:12-5:47) Work on a mix of business and personal. As long as you get 30 to 50 good things. Now if you do this by yourself, eventually you’ll run out of steam or you just get distracted by your handphone notifications and move on to something else. Welcome to today’s show with Genecia Alluora- author of Make It Happen, Speaker, and the founder of Soul Rich Woman. In today’s episode, she will talk about mindset issues and different stages of your business. Stay tuned as she will share with you the 5 stages of your business and the mindset issues that you might face.

Stage 1

(1:45-1:47) Courage to own what did you do  

(1:52-2:11) So action will be to put your job title or your desired title on your email signature. You will start to see it every day and to start to believe it in yourself. Now, this is coming from a space where you feel like a fraud, you feel like an impostor. So I want to help you.

(2:14-2:33) Maybe you are still in a job so it’s tough to juggle everything. Stressing about getting your first client or charging people. Making the transition from free to paid can be tricky but just pick a number and try it out. 

(2:34-2:50) Procrasti branding- that means you add procrastination and branding. That means you keep getting stuck thinking you need a website to get started or get business cards. Just focus on getting your first client.

(2:51-3:08) Procrasti funnels- that means you have procrastination about building your funnels and you’re thinking what is the funnels that you need to build to get started or to launch your first landing page. You know what? Just focus on getting your first client.

(3:09-3:30) You might be still thinking of being your practice business. That’s okay, that means you’re practicing. It’s all good practice and it all counts. Be confident that your previous work experience or your practice, even though it failed in your businesses as all experiences count.

(3:32-3:38) The roller coaster of terror of having no income from the start.

(3:54-4:06) Say yes to everything. It’s all expensive. Throw everything at the wall and see if it sticks. So just try, go out there, never just filter everything.

Stage 2 

(4:21-4:27) Here are some of the mindset issues that you might face in stage 2.

(4:29-4:30) Fear of being visible.

(4:36-4:55) You post on social media, you write on the Instagram you’ll get haters. Or if you do videos, people will criticize you. Now the fear stops when you’re doing more things in your business, well anyway, the reality is it probably won’t happen for a while anyway.

(4:56-5:02) You might struggle being consistent in your marketing because you are still figuring out your target market.

(5:16-5;36)Just tweak as you go along. Quit thinking and start doing. Just keep going and pay attention to what resonates with you and get a mentor to kick your ass as well. Now if you do nothing, to be honest, you will not be able to figure out what your audience really wants.

(5:38-5:44) Boundaries might start to be a problem with clients because you’re so excited to even have them.

(6:02-6:11) Anyway, this is priceless learning for you. When you are going through this journey and learning to set boundaries and when to say no.

(6:14-6:27) Procrastination and fear of creating passive income products even though you know that you should. Because you’re starting to see the limitations of doing one on one work.

(6:47-6:49) Less time, less freedom.

(6:53-6:59) You’re still learning everything yourself. So you’re thinking you could start to delegate some stuff out.

(7:07-7:21) You start to invest in yourself more maybe with a coach or masterminds. Start to say maybe to everything. Think about if it fits into your business before you say yes to opportunities.

Stage 3

(7:37-7:45) CEO is not Chief Executive Officer. In this stage 3, it’s called Chief Everything Officer.

(7:46-7:56) You want to not become Chief Everything Officer. You want to be the Chief Executive Officer, and that is key.

(7:57-8:13) You’re also gaining momentum. Time to raise your prices to make sure you have the right clients. Boundaries with clients make you realize you need to tighten up some of your legal processes. Now is the time to make sure you have your contracts sorted out.

(8:16-8:23) You’ll learn this by trial and error. Maybe through nightmare clients. Then again these are priceless lessons.

(8:25-8:27) Start outsourcing things that stress you out.

(8:38-8:49) You start to tighten up the costing, the cost center of your business. Maybe you get a little bit too excited about earning money that you get crazy spending on personal development.

(8:51-8:53) Now it’s time to start paying yourself salary in Stage 3. 

(8:12-9:19) Start to say NO to things that aren’t in your zone of genius or things that don’t work for your business anymore.

Stage 4

(9:24-9:37) Loneliness. At this stage, it might be hard to find the right groups or masterminds for you. You need to be upgrading and make sure that you’re surrounding yourself with people with similar energy and vision of mindset with you. 

(9:39-9:51) Copycats might be a problem at this stage 4. Well, people are noticing what you’re doing and then you’ll get people flat or accidentally copying you including all or current clients. 

(9:53-9:57) Either don’t take it personally or get legal.

(10:16-10:22) Fame and popularity. You might get fangirls who love and adore you.

(10:31-10:52) Burnout. Now, some people get super burned out at this stage and wonder how they’ll keep going at this pace forever. And that is why I wanna tell you that you must build your freedom lifestyle. F-word, being fabulous, having freedom, financial independence,  and a happy family. Work towards that.

Stage 5

(10:56-11:09) Embracing your role as a leader and being willing to take on the role in your communities. Be willing to hold the space for people. Set rules in your business in how you want to interact with people.

(10:31-11:37) You start to get more brutal with your time and evaluate opportunities with more business.

(11:50-12:10) You’ll learn how to manage your money better with financial advisers or accountant, learning to be a rich person. Some people look to retirement. What’s next? Maybe you don’t hustle as much. The momentum is hard to switch off here if you have been consistent for many years.

Epilogue

(12:17-12:25) Earlier on I’ve just mentioned to you the 5 different stages that really reflect the mindset issues that can pop up for you.

(12:49-13:01) We all have a part to play in this. This is your time and you are ready for the next step. The more you take action in a consistent way the faster you built your momentum and really grow your business.

Women plays a big role when it comes to being influential, not just around the corner but around the world also.
(4:56) “To be a woman of influence is a woman who influences anyone and anything basically.
(5:23) I guess it would be to teach my children and other children and other women especially to feel that they can do it. Just as anyone can do it.  But especially women I think women are actually better investors than men I think our intentions are better.”
 

 Favorite moment of influence

(6:46) The best thing I’ve done is while my children were in school was to influence their classmates by being a role model by being a single mom with my son and really being involved. And helping young man to become good man.

What does success mean in building an empire?

(7:27) Success means that I got an opportunity to share with other people and that’s the most important thing to me. We need to share what we’ve learned, what we have and what we can do.

 Pursue your dream and make it happen

Through education we’ll learn a lot of things and through that we can achieve our dreams. Mary Buffet stated.

(9;10)Education is the most important driver of prosperity and influence. 

 (9:45)A man is not a plan, in other words you can do it yourself you can build something out of nothing as long as you
have the dream. So follow that dream don’t give up and it can happen.

 We are very happy to have Dr. John Tan here today to share his journey with us about why he did podcasting. I have known Dr. John for the last 20 years and he is great.

Podcasting

(2:02-2:22) It opens itself up to different people. So firstly it would be the people who want to listen to your story, and there are these curious people out there that you do not know yet. Right? So I think the possibility is more of ourselves to believe that we have.

(2:24-3:17) Genecia first approached me I was like “Woah! Podcasting”. What was the medium all about? And I say “wow! There’s a lot of things to work”. Prepare technically and they keep telling me, “No it’s not. You have a story and the story needs to be heard. It’s just a method of like in this morning going through, how you structure the story and how you present it, and then later the technical aspects that come with all the other details. But the important thing is that you have something that you wanted to share.” so for me, it’s more like, at this stage of my life, it’s about living a legacy of knowledge and information and lessons I’ve learned. Primarily from mistakes, from errors, and all that.

(4:32-4:43) The best thing to do is just to take the leap first and try and then put it out there. Put the message out there, like a test bait, then you could just adjust accordingly. 

(5:02-5:12) It has been a fantastic journey. Yes, you have to put in the work and the effort. You have to put in that kind of focus.

How many episodes have you recorded? And where can I access these?

(6:23-6:55) Over the cost of few days concentrated, I had set aside some time. And so I think it took me about 3 to 4 days of recording and the whole journey was I think 55 episodes if I’m not mistaken, or 56. And then after that, it’s launched. So the whole idea then is you get into a group rather than spacing it out.

How Dr. John breakthrough his mindset

(8:05-8:11) A lot of it has to do with a certain sense of how perfect you want it - Perfection.

(8:22-8:24) The thing is to just let it go.

(8:27-8:33) Do not be worried about errors and then I realized maybe I should have a script.

(8:42-8:57) To in order to do that you need like x number, like 10,000 words. So can you make it if you write the script for everyone it’s gonna be a long time. So I did that for like about three episodes. It took a lot of effort.

(9:13-9:16) So for the next, 4th episode, well I just told my story.

(9:31-9:36) So here’s the thing. When you have that flow, very relaxed, wow!

(9:41-9:43) And before you know it you have your episodes.

(9:51-10:08) Go for excellence, yes, but not to the point of error-free perfection, it’s not gonna happen. Secondly, you have your story, let your story come up, and then from there it just flows, right? And do in batches because it does help it. 

Focusing on one specific content

(11:00-11:04) I think it’s more of bearing in mind who the audience is.

(11:31-11:33) So it comes out very naturally.

(11:38-11:43) You have that person in mind at first, and then from that, you develop. 

(12:28-12:38) The question would be firstly, “Why?”. And my answer was very simple, rather in a form of another question, another question is, “Why not?” 

(12:41-12:46) There’s not so much agenda as getting the job done.

(12:49-12:52) And I believe Genecia and the team has done it very very well.

How do you feel when you launched 55 episodes?

(13:53-13:57) Number 1, I felt very fulfilled and accomplished that this portion is done.

(14:06-14:18) The responses that came back, it was slowly. And when the full episodes came on and five came out and it was posted in more and more platforms. 

(14:24-14:26) And then the world starts spreading and sharing.

(15:15-15:18) When you want to do it, then you have to put your heart and mind to it.

What are the struggles or objections you have before doing the podcast?

(16:11-16:31) Number one, I don’t have enough things to say. Number 2, my voice don’t go enough. Number three, will people listen? And all these were just anxieties.

How are you going to find time to really work on your Season 2?

(18:31-18:42 ) I think I’m looking forward to getting those equipment in, and then find a way possible of doing it from my own computer with support.

(18:45-19:04) Number 2, of course, I’m listening to what the needs are. And they have shifted a little bit particularly because of this covid pandemic. There are certain sets of anxieties and certain fears that people may have that can be addressed in messaging as well.

(19:07-19:18) The issue then will be of prioritizing and putting the scheduling done correctly and then having the equipment support.

When there’s so much thing to share, how do you do it in 10 minutes? 

(20:35-20:51) Actually what I’ve found is that the topics, you just need to split up. And the only thing there is about having a few parts to the same topics but with different aspects. And having a story and a lesson to it is already 10 minutes.

(20:53-21:01) I also know that you need to bunch it so that it is just nice for consumption. It’s not too long, maybe boring.

(21:04-21:18) This is where I said if you have the life experiences, and I think you guys have, then it’s a method of looking into content and maybe draw the appropriate diagram.

(21:24-21:33) That’s where when the coaches come in. and to ask you questions about what can be flashed out deeper more according to your audience.

(21:35-21:58) For me, in ten minutes, just one point. The point is enriched with a story, with a lesson, and then a call to action or possibly what can be in the next episode. And so before you know you have about 4 or 5 episodes because you’ll do a wrap-up at the end as well.

How was the responses from your family? And did they have any objections when you shared with them that you’re gonna do the podcast?

(23:14-23:24) No objections at all. Basically, they see it as an extension of my work and my sharing. I’ve been devoting all these years to helping.

(23:27-23:39) I think one of the things that’s still not done yet which is getting a book out. So the next best thing to getting a book out is that you’re getting you’re podcast out.

(23:59-24:03)  To me, it has been an encouraging journey.

Season 2

(24:40) Think of going deeper and I’ll show thinking more about what’s happening and this Covid experience for many people and how are they dealing with uncertainty and the inner changes.

Today’s woman grew up with little money and was supporting herself by the age of 14. During her teenage years, she was bullied and her self-esteem struggled. However along the way she was introduced to modeling and the world of beauty. She entered pageants and began winning. Her self-confidence grew as she won Ms. Singapore and was one of the Top 3 finalists in the Ms. Universe pageant. She dug deep into entrepreneur endeavors with Image consulting and a Cafe retail chain. There were partnerships along the way that worked and some that didn’t. But through it all, she never gave up on women and her ability to elevate them. Today through her Soul Rich Women brand, she mentors thousands of women to bring their business and leadership brands online. It is my pleasure to introduce you to Genecia Alluora.

Turn your mess into your message

(3:14-3:30) My first intuition and instinct was to resist because what my mother said sounds like “neggy” and a net to me. But when that got into my heart, that was when I started to see light at the end of the tunnel. 

(3:36-3:40) Being the youngest instructor in Singapore, many people laughed at me.

(3:45-4:29) I had to work doubly hard as a young person. And keeping in mind that even though we have passed, gone through the journey of not having enough and how can I turn this courage around to become something that I can share along, to my class students and also the people that surround me. So turning your mess into your message did not start at the right footing, it was only through self-reflection and knowing what upholds my mother’s values that helped me to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Because I truly believe that when we have a diamond that is within us, we all deserve to shine.

Who you choose as your friends

(4:49-4:58) I think there are 3 things you wanna be looking at. Number 1, is not to look into the quantity of friends but look into the quality of friends.

(5:01-5:16) Friendships are bound to a test of time. You definitely need to know what and who to talk to and what to talk to. The easiest way for you to move into a group where friends can support you is to look for a ready community.

(5:33-5:40) Number 3, really look for people who are in a small group. That means you are doing beta testing.

(5:45-5:55) Never put all the eggs in the basket and get out there because you don’t know who to trust and that is always a question. Of course, we want to give the benefit of the doubt to people around us.

(5:57-6:05) But like I said, everything is built through the test of time. So what you can do is always start with a beta group. 

(6:14-6:28) In business, when you’re moving online as a newbie and you’re bringing to … ready to build your personal brand, look for a small group of 3 to 5 people whom you can mastermind with. A Beta group, a mastermind group, where you can feel it.

(6:37-6:39) Be a giver and not just a taker.

(6:45-6:58) So you really need to look into how you can contribute as well to the group so that everyone grows together to the next level, right? Because alone you are strong, together we are unstoppable.

 What did you learn that you’d want to tell other women about going into a partnership with someone?

(7:33-7:37) When you do a business with friends, you must first have rules.

(7:39-7:50) What is a “roles and responsibilities”? I think that would be one thing. That would be very clear. Secondly, you want to have the ability to have, you know, when you make money, what happens to the money.

(7:50-8:09) discuss about monetary issues. Discuss about money stuff, money ideas, money values, how can you cope with money. What if there are no customers, who's responsible for what, and how are you going to manage the cash flow of the entire business, which is the lifeline of the business. It’s not just about the profits that you are making but the cash flow.

(8:17-8:41) Last but not least, put in the effort and contribute. Be a giver and not just a taker. Do your part, play a hundred percent all out. If it doesn’t work, you will know by the end of the day. But at least you know that you’ve given your hundred and ten percent to the business, through that game, through that friendship, to that vision that you have in front of you.

(9:25-9:43) We will tend to trust women and we tend to trust more easily and we want to do more in the way that we want to contribute. In the end, sometimes, we are taken advantage of because we don’t know how to set personal boundaries and that is something that you really need to learn.

(9:54-9:58) Learn to agree to disagree

(10:01-10:02) and be okay with that.

Do you feel happy today? And what have you done differently to achieve this?

(10:15-10:25) I definitely feel so much happier today. I think being myself is one of the greatest gift that I have given myself since I have moved out from the entertainment industry.

(11:07-11:22) So really learning to accept myself and loving myself even more and be aligned with my mind, body, and soul to truly embrace that “Hey! This is who I am. Take it or leave it.”

Value Exchange

(12:46-12:58) So value exchange,  to my realization and through my self-reflection, simply means what value do you put on the table when someone sponsors you. What is the benefit? What’s in it for them? 

(13:12-13:48) Look into play “win-win”. Now “win-win” simply means that if they give you something, for example, they sponsor you series of trainings, they gonna get you grooming and department, and help you to present yourself beautifully and perfectly to win that title on stage or win that business. Then perhaps after you win, contribute back by being their ambassador. Let’s say for example 3 months, half a year, or even a year for X number of hours based on the value of the  duties that you are, kind of, matching in with the goods that has been sponsored to you. 

(13:50-13:52) As a way of Value-exchange.

(13:53-13:58) So for me, it’s definitely helped me to choose my sponsors wisely.

(14:05-4:10) First and foremost, I choose based on a few criteria. First, your values must be aligned with mine.

(14:18-14:19) Number two, who is your target audience?

(14:25-14:30) Are there people whom I hope to reach that I wasn’t able to and you are able to do that?

(14:31) Number three,

(14:33-14:50) How am I going to help you to spread your message of the awareness of brand message to my audience as well, and to my followers as well. So when you have these questions in your mind, it becomes a win-win situation. And that is my understanding of value exchange.

What’s the first thing businesswomen need to do if they want their business to go from offline to online?

(15:42-15:43) Find a coach.

Today’s special guest is Dr. John Tan. He is someone that I’ve known for 20 years as a volunteer with CARE Singapore- which is Children At Risk Empowerment. Today, Dr. John recorded two seasons of podcast shows. With his voice, his experience, his message is gonna touch and change the world and help more people to understand youth and help these youths at risk. Prevention is better than cure. 

Season 2: Every Youth Matters

(3:28-3:43) This is Dr. John Tan. I am the founding president of the Youth Work Association Singapore, as well as the Executive Director of Children At Risk Empowerment otherwise known as CARE Singapore.

(3:55-4:11) In Season 2 of “Every Youth Matters”, I have shared tips and strategies and ways to reach out to the young people because I have learned from my experiences and transform them into lessons.

(4:31-4:45) Season 2 was quite a journey for me. At the backend of it all, I would say I have succeeded in completing it. And despite the disruptions.

(4:47-5:18) The reason for me saying that is that we have laid up four recording days at the studio. And some of the days that we were about to record, we were interrupted to buy some renovation works that were done in the neighbors and that was a tough one because we have to time our recording around their renovation and it end up in a day where we could not record at all.

(5:21-5:32) The four days that were set aside we completed in actually 3 days minusing of that one day that was disrupted.

(5:33-5:36) So what then has taught me is that it’s possible.

(5:42-6:02) And this is particularly meaningful to me because it just reminds me that despite challenges we can overcome. As one of my favorite mentors, coaches like this, “Our problems may be tough, but remember we are always tougher.”

(6:04-6:06) I’ve managed to complete Season 2

(6:10-6:25) despite having a very busy schedule of presenting workshops and writing materials and training people. And all of that I’m so glad that I was able to accomplish

(6:27-6:41) Something that i wanted to do for quite a long bit and it has further embedded my legacy. And it has further given me the materials that are ready recorded down.

(6:44-7:05) A great sense of accomplishment that I have finished Season 2. And I’m also very very glad to be working with my new podcast coach Janet Aisyah and she has been a great help being beside me and giving me pointers.

(7:15-7:31) I believe that as the Season progress we have little episodes actually getting into a better rhythm and I think it’s all kudos to my podcast coach Janet Quek.

(7:41-7:58) There were some objections, there were some obstacles in the preparation. Well I’ve finished Season 1 and had already mixed some sort of loose plans to record Season 2.

PANDEMIC

(8:00-8:10) Along came the pandemic, The CoronaVirus Pandemic, and that meant we had to make all kinds of adjustments.  

(8:18-8:27) We can plan for the timing but we could not control it and so it came at a time where I had to contemplate

(8:29-8:31) doing this whole Season online.

(8:41-8:53) This was a challenge particularly during city breakout lockdown where we couldn’t go anywhere, we couldn’t get things delivered and all of that. So it was a big challenge.

(9:02-9:13) When face to face came in, and it meant that we could move about, there was the potential possibility of going to the studio to record it.

(9:16-9:22) Then there’s a big but because the “but” came from the wife who was concerned for me going out.

(9:24-9:28) Maybe when exposing myself into the community.

(9:31-9:39) That was slowly overcome by explaining to her the steps involved, what we were doing and all that.

(9:54-10:06) Moving into the studio and booking that 4 days that we could do the recording. So it was a learning process bit by bit.

Looking forward to “What’s next?”

(10:18-10:21)  I have to choose the number of episodes.

(10:24-10:28) I had more material than I needed for this Season. 

(10:31-10:37) The next point coming soon, will there be a Season 3? That’s a possibility. But before that.

(10:39-10:46) I had to then choose and decide the materials that I wanted to, to keep it concise to keep the rhythm going on, not to drag.

(10:53-11:13) When you got into a rhythm then I got into a pattern. I got to be able to know how to kind of demarket. How much material goes into each episode. Right, so that’s a learning point for me as well. And which then leads to, “Will there be a Season 3?” well it is highly possible.

(11:34-11:47) In the process of working, the mind gets stood up. The mind gets launched into new areas. So now in my mind I can almost see Season 3 forming.

(12:03-12:06) Going to it by conclusion for these whole Season 2

(12:09-12:13) My feelings has been something of a great accomplishment.

(12:15-12:24) because as part of my plan to leave a legacy of my lessons learned, I have embedded it further.

(12:34-12:43)  Meaning that I have forever archived my materials into resources that can benefit more people.

FWEP00095- Turn Your Fears Into Fuel In Podcasting With Deon Teh

Today's special guest is Deon Teh. She is the winner of Elite Instant Podcast Leader Award as well as Platinum Instant Podcast Leader Award. She has done two Seasons of podcast bilingual. One season in english and one season in Mandarin. So today she’s gonna share with you from being a manager director of a company to beginning her journey of podcasting. Some of the fears and thoughts that she had and eventually overcame. And even though English is something that she had problems with, she thought that she would never be able to do it and yet she did it anyway. So let her story inspire you to turn your mess into your message and turn your fears into fuel.

Conquer your fears

(2:48-03:01) I truly agree that a podcast is not only about purely online presence  but most importantly it helps me sort out my thinking on my past.

(3:13-3:23) I successfully use my second language in Greece to present in my show. Something which I never thought was possible.

(3:44-4:09) One of my colleagues was curious about what I was doing and asked me what it was for. I’m proud to have my own podcast. And in Season 1, it has 55 episodes and can listen on more than 20 platforms all over the world.

(4:24-4:35) As a leader in a company, I'm concerned about how to really do business online for this modern world.

(4:37-4:56) I used to rely on books as my mentor. I was able to learn a lot from books that I read and they directed me to what I am. However, I need someone that understands the market and trends that where I am.

(5:02-5:22) At first, I joined the Soul Rich Women Blueprint. And I learned how to use modern technology to promote our product. However, I was craving for what is the next and I decided to join 4in1 group coaching. And after that I want to be more focused.

(5:28- 5:48) I want to help my company to go online. Well, undergoing mentorship, Genecia told me that in order for me to help my company, I need to build my own brand first. Then I realized that I forgot to love myself first before loving others.

(5:50-6:08) I told Genecia that I wanted to publish my own book in the near future during our mentorship and she advised me to take up the podcast, which is the fastest way to boost my authority especially as I’m a leader to my company.

(6:12-6:24) I was not clear on my life purpose and journey. Through doing the podcast, I was able to find my direction and it was also a soul-healing journey for me.

(6:35-7:01) I was camera shy and I’m unable to express myself nicely if i were to be on a live podcast or a video recording. Of course, I have many fails before doing my work. People look at me, what if I cannot take it, the comments. With the help of my podcast coach Joanne Lee, I was able to overcome my fears. 

(7:02-7:22) And since Soul Rich Woman helps with 95% of the work behind the scenes, the production system by them. And I don’t have to worry about any administration task, i just concentrate to write the script and dig deeper myself.

(7:31-7:50) Genecia, being my guide, told me that I can use my past experiences. Transform it to tell people my story, and people who listen can benefit from my experiences and have a guide also, and maybe can shortcut their necessary path

(7:58-8:20) How would people react? Am I sure I want to continue? And I’m not that professional as others that are well-trained. However, after discussing with Genecia, I have confidence that the team was helpful and helped me to overcome this and I went ahead to do my podcast show.

(8:22-8:56) I was also feeling anxious and uncomfortable about sharing my story and being truthful about what I feel deep inside. But realizing that this is me and people hearing my story, they suffer real deal. I still went ahead with everything that came from my heart. Understanding that my intention is to share and inspire, and not to criticize or destroy other people's lives.

(8:58-9:02) Gave me the courage to go out and do the podcast. 

(9:04-9:21) Initially, I have to convert my writing for podcast episodes into english. I got tired. And so I have to use up a lot of energy, thinking of what to say and sitting on the table to think about my past.

(9:49-10:08) Having launched the podcast, I am also anxious about what would happen next. Then by going back to understand my intention and my goal that this would be about doing something positive for me and for others especially for the working mothers.

(10:09-10:20) And by knowing that I have a strong team of Soul Rich Womans to support me, my worries are temp and controlled.

(10:33-10:41) I feel that I am also blessed to have crossed paths with Soul Rich Woman team who could help me make it possible.

(10:42-10:56) Launching the podcast gave me great happiness. There I was able to share my message so instantly to the public. And I’m the first listener to my own podcast episode every week.

(11:12-11:33) And  I continued to hide under my fears, I would have not touched people's hearts and most importantly my family’s hearts. I have also proven that this is never too late to learn something new. There’s no right or wrong but this is about taking action.
