With the likes of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Bill Murray the Toon Squad was victorious. But more than 20 years later Warner Bros still hasn’t delivered a Space Jame sequel.

Flash (Ah-Ahhh!) Gordon hit theaters in 1980 to little fanfare, but is most remembered for the awesome soundtrack by rock group, Queen. Outlandish costumes and a wacky performances from cast members like Sam J. Jones, Brian Blessed and Max Von Sydow have made the movie a cult classic among fans of so bad it’s good cinema over the years . And despite a comedic return appearance in Seth McFarlane’s Ted movies, we still haven’t gotten a follow-up film.

Hot on the heels of Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park, in 1995 another Michael Crichton book was positioned for big screen success with Spielberg’s longtime producer, Frank Marshall in the director’s chair. Despite a very entertaining cast including Laura Linney, Ernie Hudson, Tim Curry and even a talking gorilla named Amy, swapping killer dinosaurs for killer apes did not make Congo a hit with audiences or critics.

This summer another sequel to Jurassic Park is coming to theaters, but what about the continuing adventures to be found in the African jungles of the Congo? Join Jeff, Jeramy and Adam as they revisit the wild characters and dangerous terrain with Congo sequel pitches that go way off the rails in the best way possible.

No one was prepared for tales of men marrying gorillas to form a super race or the introduction of African firefly vampires wreaking havoc and all with Nicolas Cage added to the mix. SQR-EP86 | A Spaced Invaders Sequel | SequelQuest Rewind

Prepare to laugh, Earth Scum! In 1990 Touchstone Pictures invaded movie theaters with Spaced Invaders, a family comedy starring Ariana Richards with out of this world ambitions. An eclectic crew of Martians arrive in small town Illinois thinking they are part of conquering force, but soon realize the transmission they heard was just a Halloween night broadcast of Orson Welles’ infamous War of the Worlds radio broadcast. Hijinks ensue.

The film was a mainstay of video store shelves in the 90s, but failed to blow up the box office upon it’s release. Now, nearly 30 years later, the SequelQuest crew thinks they are up to the challenge of creating a viable Spaced Invaders 2 with the help of a very special guest.

Comic Con International is the media event of the year now that super heroes save Hollywood on a regular basis. Fans come from all over to see the stars of upcoming films, while walking the aisles of the tightly packed convention center in colorful costumes. The SequelQuest crew isn’t much for crowds, so we decided to celebrate Comic Con 2017 from behind our microphones and get our geek on, podcast style!

The movie inspired a long running television show of the same name, but the film universe has remained untouched. No sequel, no reboot, no chips, dips, chains or whips. And so the SequelQuest crew along with returning guest host, Colin are ready to revisit the idea of nerdy teens creating a magical friend to help them achieve their dreams in this podcast adventure that's not afraid to get WEIRD!

As you know we recently hit our 100th episode after nearly 4 years of podcasting. Many of you have been listening for a large portion of our run and have actually become guests on the show, which has made it so much more fun to do. So thanks for being part of our SequelQuest experience so far.

We say so far because while the show isn’t going anywhere, there is a major change on the horizon pertaining to where you’ll be able to find the podcast and listen to new episodes. We have been an independent podcast up to this point and paying out of our own pockets to bring our brand of fake movie fun to your ears. We’re not pitching sequels for quarters on street corners or anything, but the cost does add up over time. So when we were offered a chance to join an online pop culture network that would take on our hosting fees if we became a part their community of content creators, we were very interested. Let me explain.

The Retro Network or TRN is an exciting new online hub for pop culture past and present, masterminded my Jason Gross from RediscoverThe80s.com and Mickey Yarber from RetroRamblings.net who have pulled together creative types from all over the internet to produce YouTube videos, podcasts and unique articles covering a variety of topics. "Goonies Never Say Die", but Hollywood has sure been dragging their feet about giving fans a sequel to the 1985 film The Goonies. Directed by Richard Donner this exciting treasure hunting adventure featured a cast of colorful child actors such as Sean Astin (Rudy, Lord of the Rings), Josh Brolin (MIB 3, Guardians of the Galaxy) and Corey Feldman (The Lost Boys, License To Drive) in a madcap movie for all ages.

There was an 8-bit sequel to The Goonies in video game form on the Nintendo Entertainment System, but audiences have been left to imagine what a big screen return to the world of Astoria, OR would be like. We here at the SequelQuest podcast are all about giving the fans what they want, so we decided dedicate an episode to discussing what The Goonies 2 would be in our eyes.

Though appearing as episode 3 of the podcast, this was actually a prequel to the official start of our show, an episode Zero if you will. The conversation was so fun and the final story idea so outrageous, we just had to share it with you. Keep an eye out for the post announcing the drop date of this very special episode.

SequelQuest has finally hit 100 episodes and to celebrate we’re taking a look back at the history of the show with special greetings from many of our past guests.

As a special part of the celebration we’re also returning to the 1st movie we ever “sequelized”, 80’s classic The Goonies. This time around we’re imagining a prequel to the Richard Donner film from 1985 and pitching the earlier adventures of Mikey, Mouth, Data and Chunk.

So how did The Goonies first meet? What does the dark history of Astoria, Oregon have to do with the abandoned Walsh mansion? And how the heck do the mythical Bandage Man and Bat-Squatch end up in the mix? Listen now and find out.

But for every Guardians of the Galaxy there are dozens of lesser known comic book characters waiting for their chance to show their stuff.

That’s why this week the SequelQuest crew is joined by returning guest and comic book fan, Michael Canetti to pitch our concepts for introducing new characters into the MCU, but who will make the cut? Could it be the mysterious Egyptian vigilante, Moon Knight? Perhaps a decent Fantastic Four film? What about letting Bruce Banner’s cousin the She-Hulk smash the box office or the mighty Ms. Marvel?

In 2016 one movie rocked the internet to its core, causing upheavals of biblical proportions (real wrath of God type stuff) all throughout cyberspace that pit brother against sister, movie fan against movie fan, suddenly it was dogs and cats living together, MASS HYSTERIA that set YouTube comment sections aflame. This movie was Ghostbusters: Answer The Call starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, Chris Hemsworth and Directed by Paul Feig.

The announcement just weeks ago of a new Ghostbusters film to be released in 2020 helmed by Jason Reitman, son of the original film’s director, Ivan Reitman was the final nail in the coffin for this failed franchise. But what if the female Ghostbusters crew had been brought back for one more supernatural adventure?

When The Karate Kid was released in 1984, it not only kickstarted a film franchise that gave us the adventures of Daniel Larusso and the wisdom of Pat Morita as Mr. Miyagi, it created a martial arts phenomenon that swept the nation (and a leg or two along the way). Three official sequels to The Karate Kid were produced between 1986 and 1994 with The Next Karate Kid trading Ralph Macchio for Hillary Swank to diminishing returns. The critically acclaimed web series, Cobra Kai recently gave us a glimpse of the world of The Karate Kid in the 21st century, but what if we had gotten a 4th theatrical film in the 90s?

The director Jared Hess pulled upon his experiences growing up in rural Idaho in the 80s and extrapolated a hilarious cinematic experience. And though the writer-director has gone on to make other films, this little indie starring John Heder, Aaron Ruell, Efren Ramirez, John Gries, Diedrich Bader and Tina Majorino is surely his calling card.

Brad Bird’s first directorial outing, The Iron Giant has had a rocky road to getting its due from movie goers since its release in 1999. The story of a boy befriending a massive metal robot from outer space during the Cold War has gained a loyal following over the years, even resulting in a special edition release in 2015.

While star Vin Diesel has stated his desire to return for a sequel, Brad Bird has been less interested, stating that the film works well on its own. But fortune favors the bold and so the SequelQuest crew is picking up the dangling plot threads and spinning a whole new story for The Iron Giant 2.

How RAD are you? In 1986 Hal Needham, the director of Smokey and The Bandit was tasked by Talia Shire from the Rocky films to direct a “sportsploitation” film in the style of The Karate Kid, but with BMX racing. Who knew that by including scenes of Bike Dancing, Ass Sliding and the wicked BMX danger of Helltrack he would create an 80’s cult classic like RAD?

More than 30 years later, this wild 80’s movie starring Bill Allen and Lori Laughlin is still not commercially available, but that won’t stop Adam and a duo of guest hosts from the Cult Film Club podcast from pitching their epic sequel ideas for RAD 2 in this podcast adventure.

In 1986 the comedic talents of Steve Martin, Chevy Chase and Martin Short were combined by John Landis to bring the goofball humor of the Three Amigos to the big screen! While movie going audiences of the 80s weren't mounting their horses to see it in theaters, endless broadcasts of the film on TV led to its place a comedy comfort food. Still, we never got a Three Amigos sequel.

More than 30 years later the SequelQuest crew wondered whatever happened to Lucky Day, Dusty Bottoms and Ned "Little Neddy" Nederlander after defeating the INFAMOUS, El Guapo in the sleepy, Mexican village of Santa Poco.
