The Story of Jonah

Hey parents! Use these questions as a guide to talk over this week’s lesson, Jonah, with your child after they’ve watched the video service!

1. What was your favorite part of the video we just watched? Do you have any questions about what you saw?
2. What did God tell Jonah to do?
   Go to Nineveh and tell the people there about God’s rules and plan.
3. What did Jonah do after God told him to go to Nineveh?
   He didn’t want to go there, so he ran away. He got on a boat and sailed the other direction.
4. What happened to Jonah after he was swallowed by the fish?
   He changed his attitude. He prayed to God and asked him for help. When the fish spit him out, he obeyed God and went to Nineveh.
5. What can I do when I realize I have a bad attitude?
   Ask God for another chance. Tell him you want to try again to obey him or choose a good attitude.
6. Have you ever felt like hiding from God or ignoring God or a parent or teacher when they ask you to do something? What happened?
   Consider sharing your experiences with your child, emphasizing that the right choice is always to obey and talk to God.

Pizza is our all time favorite food. And to be honest, we love pizza so much. No matter where it's from, we love them all. Any of you feel the same? 

In today's episode, Jerry thinks of his friend Zoe and Kara first and gives them an opportunity to rank some pizzas. That's showing some true humility. By thinking of others before himself, Jerry reminded us that even if we feel jealous or want the best thing or want to go first, we can take a moment to do a vibe check and choose to think about others. And we can do it with a good attitude and a smile. If not bitter or angry, we should be happy to think about their feelings and give them the chance to go first or have something they want. 

Friends, we have so much fun hanging out each week, singing and learning about what it means to do a vibe check of our lives. Remember, when you start to feel like you want to go first or you want the best thing, you can do a vibe check and think about others. That's one of the best attitudes to have.
