In this episode, we discuss the Run the Red Desert trail races in South Pass City, Wyoming. Run the Red offers three distances: a half marathon, 50k, and 100k. In each distance, runners traverse the unique landscape of the northern Red Desert, which is the largest unfenced area in the United States. The races occur on Wyoming Public Lands day in an effort to celebrate the beauty of the desert as well as raise awareness about conversation efforts. Tune in to hear interviews with half marathon runners and hear what the Red Desert means to them. We also hear from our very own Cori Persinger, who shares her experience competing in the 100k. We finish the episode with an interview with the race director and representative from the National Outdoor Leadership School. For more information on the race, check out their website: https://runthereddesert.com/
