What if being pro-life is bigger than a political label, without making abortion just one issue among many?

Around 73 million induced abortions take place worldwide each year. Behind every number is a human being made in the image of God, and a mother, father, family, church, and community touched by abortion.

reIMAGED invites the Church to return to Scripture and recover a richer understanding of human life, human value, and Christian obedience. The right to life is the first right, the one on which every other human right depends. Christians should care about every way people are denied, discarded, or devalued, but not every issue is morally equivalent. A fuller biblical foundation does not make abortion less central. It helps us understand why abortion matters so profoundly.

Hosted by Chris and Alissa, reIMAGED brings together pastors, theologians, medical professionals, Christian leaders, ministry practitioners, global voices, and people with lived experience. The foundation is firm, but the conversation is open: How can the Church understand and live these truths more faithfully?

A podcast from LIFE International, reIMAGED is a space for honest, courageous, and compassionate conversations that bring pro-life into gospel focus.

Do you truly know the Father's heart for life? Kurt Dillinger was a pastor who already stood against abortion when the Lord convicted him that he didn't.

In this episode, Chris and Alissa welcome their first guest: Kurt, LIFE International's president and founder. He traces the story from his grandfather's lap, watching Billy Graham crusades, to a devotional time in Genesis 1:26–27 when he thought he heard, "Kurt, you don't know My heart." It broke him, and it began a 40-year journey of growing in the heart of the Father for life.

A woman's rights are important, and the little person in the womb is very important, but what Kurt came to understand was, "This is an attack on Me." It is God's image that is under attack, through the most innocent of His creation. That is why Kurt says the issue is not primarily political but primarily spiritual, and its rightful place is in the Church.

Kurt also asks what a pro-life person should be like. The answer he heard from a room of young Christians: like Jesus. They talk about living this out in a way that is life-giving, holding your conviction while loving the image bearer in front of you, and moving from an issue-focused approach to a kingdom approach.

At the center is the gospel. As Kurt puts it, the most profound pro-life initiative in the history of mankind is when the Father sent His Son to die on the cross for you and me. The treasure is the Lord Jesus Christ and a redeemed relationship with the Father for eternity.

Have a question, or want to join the conversation?

When someone says "I'm pro-life," what do they actually mean? For many of us, it's more of an affiliation, a camp we're in, than a deep, understood conviction.

In this episode, Chris and Alissa start by defining their terms. At the very least, being pro-life means being anti-abortion, and abortion is the intentional ending of a human life. That word intentional matters. It's why a miscarriage is not an abortion. It's also why treating a mother's cancer is different from ending her baby's life: the goal is to treat both the woman and her baby as patients and keep both lives.

They also take on the hardest questions people raise, including pregnancy that results from rape, and why the answer always goes back to one question: what is in the womb? They talk about the difference between discussing an issue and sitting face to face with an image bearer who has been harmed. And they ask whether you have to address every issue to be "truly" pro-life, when life is the first human right, the one everything else is built on.

So who gets to define pro-life? Not politics, and not consensus, but Scripture. At the center is the gospel. As LIFE International president Kurt Dillinger likes to say, the most life-giving act in all of human history was Jesus' death on the cross and His resurrection. His forgiveness and healing are for everyone, including those whose story includes abortion.

Do you have questions or hear pushback when you talk about what it means to be pro-life?
