With Harry Stewart suspended due to disobeying Chief Tucker, he is left helpless to continue his investigations into Kauffman and what he now believes is illegal fur trading. And when Ashley Fitzpatrick tells him her brother David is now missing and may have been caught up in it, Harry decides to speak to Micheal Kauffman with the authority of his badge.

When Kauffman gives Harry information about his sister's disappearance that does no fit with Harry's own imagination of events form thirty years ago, he becomes even more fixated in discovering the truth behind Kauffman's operations. 

A phone call from David Fitzpatrick tempts Harry to check out a property know as the warehouse, even if he is doing it without the back up from his superiors.

Harry Stewart is still convinced something is not right with Michale Kauffman's insistence he knows nothing of what went on in Hanson's Mansion, so when Kauffman welcomes Harry back to Huron City at a police benefit dinner, Harry believes this is nothing but a ruse to keep Harry on his side.

Ashley Fitzpatrick believes illegal fur trapping is going on, and this is why Raccoon Man has exacted revenge by killing her father and the other man. She tells Harry of a a secret fur processing shift that takes place at Premiere Pelts, a fur factory owned by Micheal Kauffman.

And when Harry hears the same news from a police informant, he knows he must pay the place a visit, despite Chief Tucker telling him the case is no longer open. But when he and Ashley pay a twilight visit to the factory, it seems someone knew they were coming.

When a man is found ripped to pieces in Trapper Hansen's Mansion, the police thinks it is yet another coyote or wild dog attack. But this is the second such attack in the last few months, and the daughter of the other man to die, Ashley Fitzpatrick, believes Raccoon Man killed them. 

Detective Harry Stewart is back in Huron City, and is interested in the case when he learns that Michael Kauffman owns the property where the killings took place. Thirty years ago, Harry's sister 'Frankie' went missing near the lake, and Harry believes Kauffman knows what happened. 

And when Ashley recognizes Harry's name and the connection to Frankie, she tries to convince him that maybe they both have an interest in finding out more about what Kauffman knows. But Harry's boss, Chief Tucker, is aware Harry is dragon his past into the investigation, and after all, the attacks was just coyotes, wasn't it?
