Kristin: [00:00:59] Yeah. So I am in the U S. I'm in Scottsdale, Arizona. So it is despite the fact that I'm wearing short sleeves, most of the year, this is appropriate this time of year, not so much, but I'm trying to pretend like it's sunny right now.

Yeah, so I run a business called yes, boss, and we help entrepreneurs with their visibility and credibility strategies. And our methodology is profitable podcast guesting. So we live and breathe podcasts. I, you know, I'm constantly on podcasts as a guest and we help our clients get on podcasts as guests.

It's really fun. It's really fun. So I say that talking is my zone of genius. This is what I do. Do I show up and I talk.

Anke: [00:01:41] So you're in the right place then

Kristin: [00:01:43] Yes, exactly. Exactly.

Anke: [00:01:47] Now of course you would know that I'm going to ask you is that something that you had in mind when somebody asked you, you know, When you were at high school, like, what do you want to do later on?

Is that something that was somehow on the horizon or, or not at all?

Kristin: [00:02:03] Oh, gosh. Well, if you had told me that I could talk for a living, I would have said yes, but I didn't know that this existed. I did definitely did not know that I wanted to be a business owner. You know, I always growing up, it was. A lot of, I don't know what I want to do.

I don't know what I want to do, but in hindsight, I could actually see that I was very entrepreneurial from the start. I did a lot of little projects as a kid. I was very like money motivated. I would do anything random to make money. Got my first job when I was 15. Like I really wanted to work. I like the idea of working.

So in hindsight, I could say that, yes, I could see the entrepreneurial-ism in me. But I didn't know that this exi...

hello and welcome Dov. How are you today? 

Dov: thanks for having me.

Anke: Well, thanks for coming. And let's just dive straight in, share with people where you're based and what's your business. What do you do?

Dov: So, I'm originally from New York, a little city on the East coast, United States. It's called Brooklyn, New York.

And, currently I live in Israel. So, which is, probably about the, all about the same size as New York city, maybe even fewer people. And, let's see. I mean, I came here to study in 1898 for six months. Ended up staying a couple of years. Got married here and I've been here since then, of course, with some trips to visit.

And, but most of, most of my businesses outside of the country, I spent a number of years running around here, building up something of a client base. I had a CEO, a peer advisory group for awhile with CEOs of companies doing between 10 and 150, $200 million in sales. But at some point I realized that, having not really grown up here and not being really, you know, you can go through the army.

I'd always be to some degree, an outsider at least. I mean, I didn't know that that was the, and that plus the fact that I came to realize that there are a lot of people who, like, I was good at what they do. Good consultants, experts struggled to turn that into a consistent flow of clients. And I realized that I felt like that was my calling.

So after I'd spent number of years struggling and I started to figure things out, I did figure things out. and there's always more to figure out. So, I mean to say I figured it all out, but, but I figured out a lot more than most people, who are not the charismatic guru celebrity type, but have a lot to offer and are looking to get ideal clients.

And I shifted my focus overseas to, to human, to reach other consultants, coaches, small business owners, small firm owners, and help them ...

Meet Kim Willis

Kim Willis is a full-time internet marketer. His journey started in 2006 when he joined a high ticket affiliate program. After 55 days he had made enough money to quit the rat race (and the daily commute).

His primary focus is ‘warm audience building.' He does this by using tribe building methods that convert cool prospects into hot leads that are hungry to buy.

Although he has made plenty of money using paid traffic methods, in recent years he has given more emphasis to ‘free' organic strategies, including social media, video marketing, and blogging.

Kim has sold millions of dollars of products and services online and crossed the ‘million dollars in commissions' threshold many years ago.

Today he is a digital nomad and travels the world having fun.

Meet Diane Xuereb - Permission to Be YOU

“I’m from Malta but I live in the Netherlands, I came here to be with my former girlfriend. However, after three and a half years the relationship ended and I found myself on the streets.

Seven years later I can honestly say that it’s the best thing that ever happened to me. Through the experience, I realised that I had to wake up and do something different with my life.

So I decided to use it to help others move through their own traumas, I thought that the thing to do was start a coaching business. However, it didn't go the way I would have liked it to, it took me some time to give up and let go but eventually, somehow I let go and with it came a huge sense of freedom. I freed myself from the idea that I should do something as opposed to following my heart.

Something that is really close to my heart is finding freedom in expressing who I am and showing up exactly how I am without feeling the need to apologise for it.

I think that there are many people who struggle with giving themselves the permission to be who they are so I was inspired to start a podcast called Permission to Be You with the hope that people would somehow find their voice and discover the power and beauty of being themselves.”

Meet Louise Creswick - Life Beyond Loss

Louise is an Accredited Life Coach and NLP Practitioner, who specialises in working with people in grief and loss.

Her own personal story, alongside her qualifications and expertise all come together to form her unique coaching services.

Louise lives and works in the beautiful Shropshire countryside in the UK, with her husband and four legged companion, Ben. As a city-born turned country girl, she loves being in nature, gardening and getting creative.

She is a business owner and personal growth addict. Adopting a spiritual approach to life really helps her to feel grounded and maintain her inner peace. She is a lover and advocate of mindfulness and meditation practises, which are also of benefit to people on a grief journey. She regularly shares mindfulness tips and exercise with her clients and online community.

She’s a keen traveller of the UK and is highly enthusiastic about mini breaks and staycations.

Louise is high vibe and passionate about life but this hasn’t always been the case.

When she was 25, her mum passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Not more than 2 months later, she lost her dad to Dementia. Seemingly overnight, he had lost his capacity to make any decisions or care for himself. His illness lasted 7 years before she finally lost him completely.

In all of the grief and loss, Louise describes the one thing she didn’t expect to lose as “losing herself”. These events had left gaping holes in her life and after losing her long term career on top of all this, she finally hit rock bottom and felt desperate to find a way out.

Fast forward 5 years, and after almost a decade of loss, Louise’s mission and purpose is clear. She is passionate about giving others the support they need to create their “new
normal” after loss through reconnecting to themselves, rediscovering and restoring their life.

A Word About Time

… or How Long It “Should” Take To Build Your Business

When you started your business and did your research you no doubt came across lots of programs, courses and coaches offering to guide you and your business to “6 figures in 6 weeks” (or some variation of that) if you just followed their “proven success formula” (that's a topic for another day). It's a huge pet peeve of mine.

The problem with being bombarded by this message is that it plants an expectation in your mind about where you should be going and how long it should take you to get there. Chances are, when you compare your progress to that benchmark you're not measuring up.

It's easy to forget that both the milestone and the deadline are arbitrary. And that opens the door to self-doubt, worry, a sense of pressure and urgency …

.. The thing is, pressure, stress, urgency, worry, overthinking take you as far as it gets away from FLOW.

If you've ever experienced a state of creative flow you know that's when ideas just pour out of you, when you're extremely focused, when you get loads done, effortlessly, without feeling drained.

Now, if that's the case wouldn't it make sense to ditch anything that gets in the way of flow?

What would happen to your business if you remembered that “6 figures in 6 weeks” – or whatever you feel you should achieve in whatever time frame – is entirely made up?

What if you simply took the next step and kept walking in the direction that makes sense to you right now?

Prior to starting her coaching business in 2014, she worked in education for seven years, first as a teacher, then as a director of communications and grant-writer. Annette earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Communication from the University of Denver and her coaching certification from The Institute for the Psychology of Eating. She is a deep thinker and truth seeker, and is committed to doing her part to create a more conscious and just world.

When I moved to Granada I quickly realized that the best way to get around town was a scooter.
I knew nothing about scooters and I wasn't interested in scooters.

After 45 episodes of daily videos I've decided to change the name.

They'll be called “Daily Sparks of Possibility” because after 45 video it's become clear that this is what they are. Do you know the feeling when something is just “RIGHT”? That sense of clarity and confidence?

It took me 45 videos to really “get” where this project was going.

It took 3 things:

• Time: 45 days of daily videos
• Doing first: I need to start creating videos and allow things to evolve. Impossible to figure it all out in my head
• Support: trying to do it all by yourself is doing it the hard way, at best (I know, I've been guilty of it for the longest time). Without the help of my coach Meg this wouldn't have been possible.

“I'm not a morning person. I do my best work in the afternoon/evening, I can't concentrate before that.”

“I love mornings. I love how much I get done during those interruption free early morning hours.”

How do these two get on? Quite alright. They're both me.

All through school, uni and most of my professional life I would have sworn that I can't get anything decent done in the morning. Typical creative night owl. That's just how I am.

Until a few years ago.

I had to finish a bunch of dresses for an upcoming performance and the only way to have a chance to get it done was to get up at 4am.
The first couple of days were horrible. I was used to going to sleep past midnight and getting up after 3 hours sleep wasn't fun.
The dresses had to get done though and I got up. On the third day I fell asleep at 9pm. Waking up at 4am the day after was easy.

It was the day I discovered my morning productivity.

No, I don't get up at 4am every day now but I've stopped thinking of myself as a night owl, or a morning person for that matter.

How often do we see ourselves as “I am ..” – a night owl, shy, organized, stupid, a perfectionist ..

What if none of it was permanent? What if none of it was true at all?

When you start learning about something entirely new to you it often feels hard. There seems to be so much to take in and explanations often don't make sense. It's easy to think “I'm just not good at this”

The thing is, learning is connecting something unknown to something known and when you don't have a lot of “knowns” to plug in new concepts or information it feels like hard work.

But with every bit of the map you explore (see Daily Spark 032 if you're not sure what I'm talking about) things get easier.

If you've ever learned a foreign language or played an instrument or took a dance class you know what I mean.

It works the same for online marketing, even if it doesn't look like it if you're new to it. Will you have the patience to keep learning until it becomes easy?
