World War 3 is still in progress, but it there were some interesting developments, and perhaps even encouraging ones.  But the underlying economic disaster remains on track.  And the criminals remain in the swamp.

Thankfully, World War 3 did NOT go nuclear this week, but it turns out that the 'cease fire' that allegedly thwarted it - at least for now - wasn't what it was cracked up to be, either.  But the underlying economic disaster is just as deadly as ever.

World War 3 turns out to be what most of us expected, rather than what we were told.  The courts are still corrupt, but that fact is at least becoming undeniable to most of what was once the Republic.  And it's also increasingly obvious that a 'political solution' is not going to happen.

President Trump's popularity rating has plummeted to a new low.  A war that was promised not to happen continues to escalate.  Tina Peters remains in a Colorado gulag, while real criminals laugh all the way to the bank.  

And it's increasingly obvious that a rigged election system is NOT going to save a nation that has turned to paganism and even outright hatred for the Word of YHVH.

But "easter" is here!  

If people don't understand how they've been duped by allowing the Most Important Event in Human History to be re-named after a fake pagan goddess, can we be surprised they turn to other fables to get their "itching ears" scratched?

And in the case of some, like what comes to a conclusion in this reading, a virtual bright flashing red emphasis, in ALL CAPS, too.

Are AmeriKans really as clueless as the Far Left and their Fake News want you to believe?  People seem to be finally catching on.  But that still doesn't mean "justice" will be done.  Pay attention!

Yet there have been no convictions, or even trials, for treason. 

A bill was passed in Congress to attempt to prevent perverts and groomers from engaging in chemical and surgical mutilation of minors.

Yet mass murders are still perpetrated in Gun-Free Killing Zones against disarmed victims who have yet to figure out how they have been set up.

These ARE 'the Crazy Years."  

And we have been warned, repeatedly.  

If you're not angry about it by now, you may be the next victim.

"What is REALLY Going On"

The Erev Shabbat parsha reading begins with two of the most important precedent stories of original principles that form the very backbone of English Common Law. First, Abraham buys the first plot of land recorded for all time in human history, and outlines the elements of 'Contract.' And immediately after that, Scripture show not only what "agency" is, or what it really means to "come in the Name of" a Master, but even what a "good and faithful servant" looks like:

Mark takes a different approach to the Sabbath Day midrash this time. Since the principles are literally ancient, and so clearly formed the basis for the Common Law in England, and then were understood, likewise, by the Founders in the united States as the basis for the most fundamental elements of the Constitution -- why are they no longer even taught? Why do the lawyers liars in the DC Swamp evidently disregard their contracts, their duties as supposed servants of THEIR masters, the American people, and even their oaths?

And that lack of trust - based on failure - now pervades virtually every institution.

We see where it has led.

But there is more to this story, in particular. Abraham, while he was literally blessed in "all things," and live a long life, 'full of days,' and is literally regarded as the Father of our Faith, did not see the fulfillment of the primary promises YHVH gave him. He was told they would spend time in 'bondage,' but did not see them multiply as the stars in the heavens. And the only land he actually owned during his own life was that burial ground. And yet he KNEW, and saw - just as clearly as he saw the Son of Promise - that those promises would come to pass.

So do we. But from a different perspective, that of knowing all of this has been reserved, put in place, and, yes, done, for us.

Which gives us an obligation. Because ALL of these fundamental principles that underlie ALL of society, are based on Trust. In ourselves, to obey, in others, to do as they agree, and in Yahuah, to carry out His will, "on earth, as it is in heaven."

As a world which has failed to honor that promise falls apart, the Remnant MUST keep it.

During the Sabbath Day midrash, Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa begins with a theme that has been on many of our minds this last week or two, and the phrase <em>"doctrines of demons,"</em> from Paul's first letter to Timothy, 4:1.

It is certainly encouraging that Charlie's execution/martyrdom has encouraged many people to look at his lifetime body of work, and his testimony for faith in the Living Elohim.  No doubt many - particularly young and college-aged people - are considering a 'turn' toward the teachings of Scripture.  

And yet, Mark suggests, the popular reaction of just "go back to church," is but a pitiful small step in what might be the right direction.  After all, many LEFT 'the church' because of it's demonstrated, Scripturally-condemned, failure to "teach my people the difference," between the holy and profane, clean and unclean.  Simply returning to what already failed, and got us here, is not a real solution.

And yet, Deuteronomy 30 gives us both a clear razor for Truth, and a bold promise of why we MUST turn!

Warning:  Some will be offended.  YHVH certainly made the reason for His anger, and our continued exile, abundantly clear.  But so is the Promise.

The plagues are certainly - undeniably - "well deserved," not just by the US, but the world.  And many, at least, already seem to be in progress.

Yet we are told, repeatedly, in Scripture, to "have no fellowship," with the unfruitful works of darkness.  To "flee from idolatry."  And not to 'keep company' with, or even eat with, the kind of people who commit the kind of perversions we routinely see promoted on CNN.  Or taught in the public 'schools.'

Mark argues that we have been told to "come out of her," to not participate with those sins, so as to - hopefully - avoid the promised plagues.  The prophet Amos tells us that, unless they are agreed, it's difficult for two people to "walk together."  And we saw this week there are, unquestionably, a large demonic army of people with whom reasoned dialogue, discourse, debate, and now arguably even peaceful coexistence have been demonstrated to be impossible.

So, do those plagues in Deuteronomy 28 still apply?  Or not?

Isn't it relevant that the FIRST three plagues in Egypt hit everyone?  But, during the fourth, of flies, YHVH "put a difference," made a distinction, between the pagan Egyptians and His people?

The promised plagues are here, and we're already in exile.   So what now?

There are a myriad of important themes in here.  But, ultimately, they all relate to just one:  'They' HATE YHVH.

They were big and scary, but just how intelligent were they?  Arguably, perhaps more so than we might think.

The theme again has idolatry at heart, and His hatred of it.  "Do not even bring an abomination into your house," lest you be accursed like it.

Could it be that He is also talking about the newly created AI gods, made of a different form of stone -- silicon?  But the lesson is the same, although the threat is greater.

The Sabbath Day midrash tackles that Greatest Mystery head on.  But, even more interesting, what might be the SECOND most mysterious 'chuq' in the Torah is in this same parsha!  The "bronze serpent" (but the Hebrew term is much more alliterative:  'nachash nachoshet') - aka the 'snake on a stick.'

There is a common thread that runs through this entire portion, too.  Actually, several, but all evidently related:  Death.  And some important numbers.  And water, in multiple ways, and 'salvation.'  But still one more that Mark suggests, which may even help explain some of  the confusion, is "I blame Moses."

By now, perhaps it should be no surprise that Scripture sets the stage for events in the world.  And, "rightly divided," also reveals when passages have been "twisted," or even inverted to suit the 'prince of this world, and his big-brother servants. 

The story of Korach is about a rebellion.  To Moses, specifically, but certainly to YHVH as well.  And the story proves that point conclusively.  But, still,

Aren't there more subtle issues when the question of 'rebellion' isn't so clear-cut, and when it's not so blatantly obvious that the rebellion is against His anointed?  Israel, after all, has had bad kings, who "did evil in the sight of YHVH."  Yet, most still claim to be doing "God's work," but it just may not be obvious which 'god.'

Is there a way to be sure?

The 'twelve spies' who went into the land in Numbers chapter 13 brought back an 'evil report,' and literally all of the congregation of the children of Israel suffered for it.  What they really did, says the witness of Scripture, was to "despise" Yahuah Himself.

And that is the part that remains so clearly evident today as well.  The question remains the same , too:  Who will we believe?

Have you ever noticed that there is a difference in the words used in rendering "do not covet..." your neighbors' wife, house, and so on between the two repetitions of the "Ten Commandments?"  The words used for 'covet," or "lust for," are different (the Hebrew root is <em>;chamad'</em>the first time, but '<em>avah</em>' in Deuteronomy 5:21.)  And THAT word is used for those who died <em>b'midbar</em> - in the wilderness - as a result of their lusting for 'meat.'

The connection, as Mark lays out, may well be that so many today are literally "lusting for death."  And it is a 'temptation' that YHVH has given us all the information we need to avoid, along with a means to escape.

For many obvious reasons, we can't DO them, but we can study the instruction to try to understand what we are being taught.

We no longer have a temple, or mishkan.  Nor cohenim to make the offerings.  Except for admonitions like "don't eat blood," none of these things can really be done.

Meanwhile, we live in a world where even the commandments and judgments which still obviously DO apply are scoffed at.  Or worse.

Which is why some "compare and contrast" with where we find ourselves today, relative to history, and prophecy, should be informative.

While most of us who have attended the vast majority of 'denominational churches' have probably heard the term "Old" Testament, and even that "the Law" was somehow away with later, as if it no longer applies, and what matters instead is the 'spirit' that is in our hearts, Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa suggests we had better understand the MANY other admonitions in Scripture, including warnings from Shaul, or Paul, that have been twisted.  He starts with a look at the First Letter Paul wrote to the Corinthians, and chapter 3.  But it is undeniable, to those with "eyes to see," that the ReNewed Covenant, in places like Jeremiah 31:31 is not quite what most of us have been taught, either.

As we see the battle lines being drawn in a world which has largely rejected the True Messiah in favor of "another jesus whom we have NOT preached," Mark suggests it has never been more important not only that we know WHICH Spirit is "holy" and how to know, but that we understand why what "Yahuah commanded Moshe" is still the Foundation -- just as Yahushua HaMashiach, the Messiah, said, and taught.  He never changed so much as a "yod or tiddle."

And He summarized it all simply, too:   "If you love Me, keep My commandments."

Which?  All of 'em.  The ones He Wrote, and Taught, and has never changed.

If we are now to be His "temple," and His Holy Spirit is to dwell within our hearts, we need to understand what that really means.

In the reading of the entire parsha, Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship takes special note of just how often Scripture tells us about their hearts.  It was the wise-hearted, and the willing-hearted, over and over, who brought their offerings and their "skillful worksmanship".  

Which is a stunning contrast with a world today, where we've "heard it said, on Sunday that "He dwells in our heart," but He somehow "did away with" His own "Law."

Did the actually-elected President promise to send Tren de Aragua terrorists back to Venezuelan prisons?  "NO!" says an appointed DC "judge."  "I want them back!"  

Did the Commander-in-Chief, as promised, reverse the militarily-suicidal policy of subsidizing mentally-incapacitated "transgenders" to disrupt unit cohesion?  "NO!" says a Communist Karen, who believes SHE is more fit to command the nation's armed services than the man who was actually elected.

What is less well-understood is that the entire context of that story reflects on what another "assembly"  (or, even 'ecclesia' for those that have heard the Greek term) has done almost universally, over and over again, throughout history.  And still continues.
