In this episode, I’m joined by Lauren LaRose, clinical herbalist, founder of the Wild Rose Apothecary, and the visionary behind the Wild Rose Festival, an annual gathering that brings together 1,000 women in celebration of connection, healing, and community.

Lauren shares her journey of becoming a mother during the isolation of COVID, and how that experience sparked a deep desire to rebuild the village so many women are missing. What began as a personal need for connection has grown into a powerful movement for women to come together to dance, learn, breathe, and support one another in meaningful ways.

We dive into the realities of being a busy modern woman: balancing motherhood, business, and big visions, and the importance of allowing ourselves to be supported. Lauren speaks candidly about learning to receive help, and how that shift not only nourishes her, but ripples outward into her family, her work, and her wider community.

This conversation is a reminder that we are not meant to do life alone. If you’ve been craving deeper connection, this episode will inspire you to seek out, or create, your own village.

Stay in Touch!
Wild Rose Festival Website
Wild Rose Festival Instagram: @wildrosesfestival
Wild Rose Apothecary Website
Wild Rose Apothecary Instagram: @wildrosesapothecary

Work with Marie
Marie's Instagram: @althaeaherbals
Marie's Substack: @marieembodied

In this episode, I sit down with herbalist Megan Kendrick, who weaves alchemy into her medicine-making practice through the art of spagyrics. We begin by exploring the practical side of alchemy: how these ancient processes can potentize herbal extractions and deepen the experience of engaging with plant medicine.

From there, the conversation opens into more esoteric and expansive terrain. We reflect on alchemy as a mirror for life itself; moving through cycles of distillation, breakdown, and refinement that shape who we become. Megan shares her perspective on nature as a living teacher, revealing how its spiraling rhythms can guide us back into alignment when the human world feels overwhelming or disconnected.

Together, we explore what it means to become more embodied, to trust the wisdom of cyclical transformation, and to return to nature as both anchor and guide. This episode is an invitation to see your own life through an alchemical lens, where every phase of change carries the potential for depth, meaning, gnosis, and transformation.

Healing From Burnout Course

If you’re looking for clear, grounded guidance for healing burnout that honours the wisdom of your body, Healing From Burnout is for you.

In this rich conversation, I sit down with Seraphina Capranos - homeopath, herbalist, and priestess - to explore the deep intersections of plant medicine, spiritual practice, and ancestral healing.

Seraphina unpacks the nuances between homeopathy and herbalism, and how each modality works on different layers of the body, mind, and spirit. She also speaks to other layers of healing including the ways unresolved patterns move through ancestral lineages and the collective, inviting us into a more holistic understanding of healing that goes beyond the individual.

We close the conversation by discussing what it means to stay grounded while being open to unseen realms, how to cultivate discernment in spiritual practice, and the importance of reconnecting with nature as a source of wisdom and medicine.

If you’re curious about ancestral medicine, nature based medicine, or walking a path that honours both the physical and the unseen, this conversation offers a thoughtful and nourishing perspective.

Somatic Sisterhood Circle

The Somatic Sisterhood Circle is a weekly touch point to attune to the wisdom of your body while being held in sisterhood. I explore how the hidden parts of the self can shape the direction of our lives, and how the shadow holds powerful information about our greatest gifts, purpose and magic.

Drawing from my work as a herbalist and somatic therapist, I weave together my personal story, embodiment, and practical insight to show how turning toward these hidden aspects can become a profound gateway to self-ownership and growth.

This episode is an invitation to meet yourself more honestly, and to liberate yourself from the pain, shame, beliefs, patterns, and traumas that have been hidden for too long.

Somatic Sisterhood Circle with Marie

The Somatic Sisterhood Circle is a weekly touch point to attune to the wisdom of your body while being held in sisterhood.
In this episode I sit down with my partner, Travis Cartwright, to explore how we can orient ourselves towards love and connection in a world that can feel dark and bleak. We explore the danger avoiding the shadow aspects of reality, and the gifts that come from a willingness to come into contact with the messy, feral, dark parts of life.

Travis is a cancer survivor who now works in herbal cancer care; he also works as a paramedic and comes into contact with pain, darkness, death, and discomfort on a regular basis. His deep connection to nature through herbalism, bow hunting and other rewilding practices has been his guide and compass since his teens after growing up in a community riddled with violence and disconnection. Travis offers a message of hope through forming relationship with the living world and living a life of meaning from an embodied, experiential place.

May this episode act as a reminder to turn our attention to nature, and let its wisdom lead us through the darkest nights.

Trigger warning: We discuss acts of violence, homophobia, death, cancer, and general hardship throughout the episode.

Somatic Sisterhood Circle

The Somatic Sisterhood Circle is a weekly touch point to attune to the wisdom of your body while being held in sisterhood. Danii discusses her healing journey through somatic therapy, emphasizing the importance of understanding the connection between trauma and physical pain. The episode will invite you to think for yourself, reclaim your truth, and take agency over your life.

Trigger Warning: In this episode we discuss trauma, religious abuse, chronic pain, and suicidal ideation.

Resources

Hillsong: A Megachurch Exposed

Curable: A Different Approach to Chronic Pain

Stay in Touch!

Danii on Instagram: @heal.with.danielle

Danii's website: https://www.thewellnessjourney.ca/

Marie on Instagram: @althaeaherbals

Marie's Substack: @marieembodied

Book a somatic therapy and/or herbalism session.

These traditional practices recognize plants as teachers, guides and kin; it is only relatively recently that Western people lost their connect to the wisdom world of nature.

In this episode I speak about herbalism from an embodied perspective, sharing both my personal journey and the historical significance of herbal medicine. Plants have been one of the primary forms of medicine for thousands of years, and we have so much to learn from our ancestors about the respect and reverence for the natural world.
