I recorded this first episode out on the deck of my loft studio, so there are some really nice ambient neighborhood sounds happening. I also played some piano and mixed it in underneath everything, as well as a special live clip of a song by Damien Jurado from his recent performance here at Proud Larry’s in Oxford, MS.

My hope is that a more consistent form will appear over time, and I expect it will get better as we go. But I think this is a good representation of what to expect from this space in the coming months, along with a lot of other voices and opinions other than my own, as well as songs, sounds and more.

Until next time,
A.B.

Links:
- Listen and buy “Over Rainbows and Rainier” by Damien Jurado on Bandcamp
- Go see a show at Proud Larry’s

<itunes:summary>Today I am happy to be sharing the first episode of my new podcast, Magnolia Radio. I’m treating this first episode as an official welcome message, an introduction to the form, and also as a test run for myself on how everything’s going to sound, as well as what it will be like to share with y’all in this way.</itunes:summary>
