This episode was the first recording session of 2026 in the bitter cold of January. Got to appreciate a Massachusetts native to not give af about the weather to get things done. Speaking of getting things done, Josh Vicente does just that. Josh is a maker of all things cool and most people aren’t aware of the folks that make the cool shit behind the scenes. The rad rocket that holds a bottle service waitress, the Patriots tv sets, or the cool clubs around the world, Josh and his company We Create Cool Things is doing that right here in Massachusetts. In addition to WeCreateCoolThings.com Josh has also started a company called Modern Meeple, a board game accessory company. Modern Meeple solves problems for gamers with solutions like the Gamey Susan which stores all your board game pieces in an easily sortable, accessible, and functional spinning tray. I picked one up and love it, makes for a smoother game play experience. Since we spoke Josh launched the Every Day Gaming bag on backerkit asking for 15k in funding and raised nearly 200k and backed by nearly one thousand gaming enthusiasts. The bag built for Everyday Gaming. It holds small box games, TCG decks, dice, and daily essentials. It is compact but spacious, organized and vibrant (on the inside), durable, and ready to bring your games on the go. You may ask yourself how does one go from DJing to making EDG bags? That’s where Local Threads comes in, we get into the journey that is of the guy who creates cool things. Thanks again Josh for being on the pod. Reach out below if you would like to work with Josh or buy some gaming accessories.

Where to find ----

https://www.instagram.com/modernmeeple/

https://www.instagram.com/wecreatecoolthings/

https://wecreatecoolthings.com/

https://www.modernmeeple.com/

https://www.backerkit.com/c/projects/modern-meeple/edg7-every-day-gaming-bag

---------------------------------------------------Support the Pod----------------------------------------------------

Rate, Review, Subscribe!

Local Threads Podcast on all audio platforms https://local-threads.transistor.fm/

Local Threads is produced, edited, and hosted by Molly Rae

Info@localthreadspodcast.com for inquiries

Music by: Moby Gratis

Starting this season, I wanted to lean into gratitude for someone who was a catalyst in helping me get started as well as behind the scenes several on site events around MA. Madison Niles, aka the Side Quest Queen, is a model, actress, all around creative and soon to be nurse in the Boston area.

Madison is someone who has major aura and you can’t help but shine in her presence. In this episode, I sit down with my friend and creative soulmate Erin Odell Bradley AKA Platinum Rebellion. Erin is an artist, designer, photographer, vintage icon, and the person who helped inspire this podcast in the first place.

We talk about growing up weird, going to FIT in the ‘80s, early fashion gigs, moving cross-country, and raising a family where everyone dresses like walking artistic expression. We also get into the magic of the Queer AF fashion show, the joy of 3D-printed clothes, sewing machine rage, and why aging out loud is the move. This one’s about failing forward, making cool sh*t, and dressing for the body you have now — not the one you're waiting for.

Platinum Rebellion
Designer | Photographer | Stylist | 3D Print Fashion Artist
📲 @platinumrebellion
on Instagram, TikTok, & YouTube

📣 Support the Show

→ Follow Platinum Rebellion for handmade fashion & creative process
→ Subscribe to Local Threads @local-threads-podcast on YouTube & where ever you get your podcasts
→ Leave a review if this episode made you feel something (it helps more than you know)
