The Alter Rebbe calls this a deep mistake. Belief in creation isn’t enough. Emunah means knowing that Hashem is here, now, sustaining everything, every moment.

Hashem expresses Himself in ways we can relate to, but we can never truly comprehend His essence. Our minds simply aren’t built to hold infinity.

To know that we can’t grasp Him, that’s the beginning of true Emunah.

These are not just poetic titles. They reflect how Hashem’s infinite light is revealed through measured, limited expressions that we can relate to.

Through the lens of Tzimtzum, even Hashem’s greatness is something He contracts, so we can experience it without being overwhelmed.

Every name we use is not to define Hashem—but to connect to how He chooses to appear in this world.

The Alter Rebbe teaches that Hashem’s light is infinite, but for the world to exist as something that appears separate, that light must be hidden and limited. This concealment allows for a reality that can feel independent, even though it remains completely dependent on Hashem.

Tzimtzum isn’t absence. It’s the greatest act of presence.

Just as speech brings something from inside to out, these letters are the channels through which Hashem’s light flows into creation. Every detail of the universe—every form, every moment—is shaped and sustained by specific combinations of these letters.

The world is still here because the letters are still being spoken.

According to the Tanya, the ongoing existence of creation—every stone, tree, and breath—is not just sustained, but miraculously sustained by Hashem’s constant will. What we call “nature” is simply a miracle that happens so often, we’ve stopped noticing.

There is no natural. Only Divine.

A person can build something, walk away, and it remains. But the Alter Rebbe teaches: Hashem’s creation is not like that.

The world isn’t something Hashem once made. It’s something He is still making, right now. Every rock, every breath, every moment exists only because Hashem is actively speaking it into being.

To believe in Hashem isn’t just to say “He created the world." It’s to say, "He never stopped."

If even one Divine utterance were to stop for a second, the sky, the sea, the stones, everything would disappear—not break, not fall apart, but vanish as if it had never been.

If we really believed this, how would it change the way we daven… breathe… live?

We learn about the regesh, the emotional imprint—the reshimu—left on the soul from earlier moments of true connection. That love we awakened once? It stays with us. It holds us when we fall, lifts us when we doubt, and reminds us: we’ve been there before, and we can return.

This is the work of emunah, of yichud, of being real in a world of illusions. This is the love Moshe Rabbeinu begged us to hold onto. And it’s available to every Jew, in every generation.

Because no matter how far we feel—we’re never erased.
