In today’s special sidequest episode we’re going to take a look (or is a listen..I mean this is a podcast) no…we’re going to take a bite out of the infinitesimal Nintendo Direct Mini which featured games that were not Nintendo 1st party games. Afterwards we’re going to dive into the main entrée of the Xbox Games Showcase and determine if it’s a big, juicy steak that was cooked to a nice medium rare in garlic butter or more like the whopper you get a burger king that has extra tomatoes when you specifically asked for no tomatoes around 3 am after waiting in line for 45 minutes because there is only one guy actually working while the other 3 employees are on their second smoke break since you finally decided to stop holding your foot down on the brake and just put it in park. We will also determine which next-gen console has the best exclusives. Then we’ll jump into a Bonus Points segment where we asked fellow lamers if they thought Xbox Game Pass is good or bad for the gaming industry. Now it’s time to finally put this proverbial car in gear so let’s get started…

Now we have invoked the powers of Lamestrodamus to inform you that we are on the verge of war…a console war…we’ve seen the signs. Fan boys gathering in social media spaces yelling snarky digital snippets at each other known as tweets. Angry, disaffected PC Master race types clinging to their multi-threaded multi-thousand dollar machines but not too close so they avoid 3rd degree burns from the heat coming out the back. Nintendo just kinda laying around doing whatever the heck Nintendo does kinda like Switzerland in WWII. Microsoft claims they have found some sort of monolithic box that points green ray traced light up to the heavens. And Sony, in a fit of disassociated rage wrapped a binder around a modem screaming to the world about how Unreal everything is. Being concerned about these signs we traveled far and wide looking for signs of the upcoming war and were eventually led to the sage Lamestrodamus living under a bridge that claims he shared these same visions of two giant console titans that won’t fit on your tv stand together. Lamestrodamus confirmed our suspicions with some tea leaves, an Ouija board, some Nitro brew coffee, and a 20 piece box of chicken nuggets. Now that we have confirmed our suspicions of the future in the gaming world we can better inform you of what is to come. Now lets get started.

Next we’ll talk about the pros and cons of pushing back the release date of Cyberpunk 2077. Then we’ll round out the news section with a discussion on the latest game to get review bombed – The Last of Us 2. We’ll move into the rumors section with some patents that could be centered around the PSVR 2 along with what is quite possibly a big stinky pile of fake gaming news that claims the Xbox Series X event will be the “night of mic drops.” We’ll then move into some impressions from the game Grounded and finish with our BONUS POINTS segment where we asked as assortment of friends of the show the question Do you have a problem with the size of the #PS5 and #XboxSeriesX ? Or are you ok with the massive next gen proportions?
