Where Knowing, Being, and Doing meet in times of unconventional change and poly-crisis.

Knowledge Mindfulness Porch is a space for thoughtful conversation, hosted by Dr. Laila Marouf, the Founder and Chief Knowledge Orchestrator of Knowledge Mindfulness LLC. — a place to discuss and share insights on how learning, leading and living successfully can unfold as interconnected and show up in living practices.

Rooted in New Learning (Knowing), New Leadership (Being), and New Living (Doing),the podcast invites an exploration of how we come to know shapes how we show up, and how we live — engaging mind, heart, and soul — in the unconventional times we are living in and moving toward.

Through reflective dialogue with guests from diverse backgrounds and disciplines, each episode becomes a point of passage: an exploration of the inner and outer shifts shaping our world. Rather than offering certainty or prescriptions, the conversations create room for awareness, discernment, and meaning to unfold. Knowledge Mindfulness Porch is an invitation for wider awareness and deeper understanding of the many ways of Knowing that manifests in our Being and responsible Doing in the world.

In part 2, neurologist Dr. Richard Cytowic delves deeper into his pioneering research on synesthesia and its profound implications on how we understand perception. He explains how synesthesia challenges the outdated notion of brain modularity, revealing the brain's inherent cross-connectivity and multisensory interactions. Dr. Cytowic shares insights into how creativity and intuition thrive when we quiet the mind, through activities like walking and meditation, which allow ideas to emerge naturally. The conversation touches on the importance of silence and disconnection as essential nutrients for mental well-being. He also emphasizes the dangers of screen addiction and encourages listeners to embrace breaks and mindful moments away from technology. In parting, Dr. Cytowic urges us to reclaim our focus and creativity by integrating more silence and reflection into our daily routines.

Cytowic urges us to reclaim our focus and creativity by integrating more silence and reflection into our daily routines.</itunes:summary>
