This series will bring together experts, lived experience and practical advice to tackle the questions people are really asking. From future planning and employment to community participation, independence and wellbeing, we'll be exploring the issues that shape people's lives and sharing insights that help families feel informed, empowered and connected.

For our first episode, we're joined by Emma Cadey, Wills & Trusts Manager at Mencap, to discuss one of the topics parents tell us they worry about most: planning for the future.

Emma answers common questions about wills, trusts and future decision-making, including:

How do I make financial provision for my son or daughter?
What is a discretionary trust and do I need one?
How do I choose trustees?
What happens when I'm no longer able to provide support?
