Positive Impact’s vision is to be instrumental in helping homeless youth and pregnant teen moms, who are in unsafe situations or crisis, by providing them with immediate shelter through our Safe Place program whilst aiming to reunite them with their family and provide them with stronger family dynamics by offering mentoring and family therapy within our Positive Impact programs and offering life skills through our Transitional Living Program.

Positive Impact aims to educate over 140,000 children through the national program, Safe Place, this year through our partnership with Gwinnett County Public Schools and other partner nonprofits and government agencies to help, protect, and serve the underserved children and families in our community. HISTORY Positive Impact International, Inc. started as a 501©3 organization in 2013 by providing life impacting social services including performing arts and sport programs to children and families throughout economically challenged communities across Metro Atlanta. Aisha I. DeBerry was born in Memphis, Tennessee and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. She has always had a love for the arts, learning to play the cello at the age of eight and being formally taught in the areas of dance and theater. Aisha considers herself a right and left brainer loving the arts but having a passion for business, logic and justice. She majored in Economics at Northeastern University, that propelled her into entrepreneurship when she opened a dollar store business. Prior to this role, she was the Executive Director of Diversity and Community Partnerships for the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (Georgia Campus) pushing initiatives for equal access for diverse populations to pursue medical professions such as developing a strategic plan to enhance diversity from student admission, faculty recruitment, student/faculty/staff retention and all things in between.

She is the founder of ADJ Consultants - a consulting firm that provides Diversity and Inclusion strategies to include research, planning, training, and assessment and is the author of The Diversity Digest - A Beginner's Guide to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

The Georgia First Generation Foundation is a non-profit organization devoted to providing resources for high school students who cannot obtain a college education without these resources. These students must be first-generation students who are passionate about achieving academic success after high school. Unlike other leadership programs, the Georgia First Generation Foundation provides specific strategic plans for any college degree. Our founders, Charbel and Francisco, initially started Georgia FirstGen as a student organization. They wanted to build a club where they could bring together students just like them. Being the first in their family to graduate high school and attend college, Charbel and Francisco understood the real, yet not impossible, barriers students faced to achieve a college education. That spark of motivation and lack of resources to overcome these barriers made these curious students form a nonprofit pitch centered around their identities -- a nonprofit supporting the growth and success of first-generation students. This business pitch became the birthplace of Georgia FirstGen. Since 2016, growing from a student club to a nonprofit organization, Georgia FirstGen has built trailblazers ready to inspire those to be a part of the movement and create a sense of community for students to feel that they belong.

She learned that many people are afraid of the stock market due to a lack of knowledge so the ABCs of the Stock Market is a gateway to eliminate that barrier and introduce more people to the Stock Market in hopes of creating more ownership within her community. The other books are part of her Blended FAmilies series which was inspired by personal experiences. A lot of times Blended Families are looked at as a taboo subject but it doesn’t have to be. There are a lot of healthy and positive examples of blended families but there isn’t a lot of content or visuals telling that story. As a product of a blended family and having a blended family of her own, she is hoping to change the narrative one book and one family at a time. Her goal is to reach as many children of all backgrounds as she can and instill in them a spirit of love, ownership, and lifelong learning.

I spoke to Dennis, on what are the top 10's he would tell his younger self. Some of the top 5 are: 1) You don't have to make ever single decision in your business or be in every meeting
2) Make sure oyu have a destination. You don't get into your car without knowing where you are going.
SAME FOR YOUR BUSINESS. Know where you are driving
3) Stay in your lane. Don't swerve into other lanes, but how do you know when to pivot and changee?
4) You can't do it alone

A few years ago, Tim had no idea about the local hunger issue. As most of us may think, Gwinnett, or our own county, is a prosperous county. When he began to look into it, it was like a curtain was raised. Hunger wasn't just an abstract problem on another continent, but a real crisis that affects our friends and neighbors in Gwinnett.
Once he knew about the ubiquity of food insecurity, He had to do something. It's who he is, and it's what he wants to do. With the help of like-minded individuals, and with onsite training from veterans in the field, he started my own program of food rescue and distribution.
Satisfied was born out of his wish to serve the community that is my home. Fueled by the joy of receiving a meal, and by the human connections we build along the way, he works to nourish Gwinnett.
