Come with me as I gather women from different walks and seasons: who love God together to talk about the shame they have experienced, even if we have caused it ourselves or something outside of God's design brought us shame. Shame can be complicated, but together, let us tell you the secrets God has shown to our hearts to overcome the shame from the past to the present and even the future. We will no longer walk in shame, but we will walk with God, knowing his heart for us and that the Father loves us no matter what we're dealing with.

Have you ever felt shame? I know I have. In today's podcast, my guests are Velvette Williams, Megan Sinisi, Amber Dozier, and myself (Sherina Donovan). We are so excited to share with you all that God is showing us in the season that we were not designed for shame; we were designed to live in perfection, and because of that, we struggle to deal with the shame of our lives, the shame of our past or present, and the thought of the future join us today as we encourage you as God has encouraged our heart not to live in the shame, but I understand that in his presence, there is no shame.
In part 2 of Healing from Past Shame, we will discover that we all have experienced past hurts. As we share some of our experiences with you, we pray that you will not feel alone through this difficult healing process. But we know that there is healing in a good community. We will begin this podcast by reading chapters 2 and 3 of Genesis and looking back at how it all started.

Only for Apple Podcast subscribers, there is a bonus episode of "Healing From Shame Part 2." You will get to hear the untold secrets of the counselor community about healing, as well as the second story of my healing journey into the past. Many of these extra 10-minute Podcasts encourage you even more through your healing journey.

Check out what Pursuing God's Heart Together is all about at https://pursuinggodsheart.com/

Part one is available on Spotify, Apple, YouTube, or any where you listen to podcast.
https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/healing-from-shame/id1753608585?i=1000659981216
https://open.spotify.com/episode/4xvIP9gr2XMMWlwlkxBT6p?si=0440b2b8969248a9
https://youtu.be/oJHmDR1OzME?si=CA0qC_q14BVAYJjA

Megan's YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@MegansSearchForMeaning

As we go through Genesis, we are now in Genesis chapter 6, the story of Noah. It may even be a surprise that we will be talking about Noah and Shame. However, because of Noah's tremendous amount of faith and walking with God, it seems that I can experience shame in different ways as I walk closer to God. Either I feel shame that man will think I am crazy, or I feel shame that I even think that. Because of our humanity, it is normal to doubt God, but it doesn't mean that the same doubt affects our walk. So, come hear how Dawn and I deal with some tough moments of walking by faith.

Our bonus episode for Apple Podcast subscribers is only about how you know you hear from God.
This episode of Walking Through Shame is called "Shame in Confusion" because, as we have been reading through Genesis, we have approached chapter 11, "The Tower of Babel," which is an interesting part of Scripture. So, on this episode, we discuss our testimony on how God used confession, and because we were walking close to him, what the enemy intended for evil, you will get to hear how God used it for good. Melanie will share her testimony, and then I will discuss misused quotes that are not scriptural, but we will discuss what the Bible says about these things. I pray that you are encouraged and that God will use this episode to release you of any shame that you may have gotten through confusion, as he did for Melanie and me. We are almost at the end of season one, with one more episode to go, and will return in February 2025. There will still be two more bonus episodes for subscribers only, and the next one will be where Melina and I will discuss the tactics of the enemy. I pray you will enjoy this podcast!
Check out what Pursuing God's Heart Together is all about at https://pursuinggodsheart.com/

I had the honor of being invited to teach at a retreat by the women at Living Waters for Square Church this past October 2025 in Utah. It's an absolutely amazing retreat, and I am happy to share the message that the Lord put on my heart, which comes from John 4:24 to worship in truth and spirit. Here are the other scriptures that I used throughout the teaching. I hope you enjoy.
John 4:23-24 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Hosea 2:14-23“Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the wilderness and speak tenderly to her. There I will give her back her vineyards, and will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope. There she will respond as in the days of her youth, as in the day she came up out of Egypt. In that day,” declares the Lord, “you will call me ‘my husband’; you will no longer call me ‘my master.’ I will remove the names of the Baals from her lips; no longer will their names be invoked. In that day I will make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, the birds in the sky and the creatures that move along the ground. Bow and sword and battle I will abolish from the land, so that all may lie down in safety. I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion. I will betroth you in faithfulness, and you will acknowledge the Lord. “In that day I will respond,” declares the Lord—“I will respond to the skies, and they will respond to the earth; and the earth will respond to the grain, the new wine and the olive oil, and they will respond to Jezreel. I will plant her for myself in the land; I will show my love to the one I called ‘Not my loved one.’ I will say to those called ‘Not my people,’ ‘You are my people’; and they will say, ‘You are my God.’”

Exodus 20: 4 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.

2 Samuel 24:24 “No, I insist on paying you for it. I will not sacrifice to the Lord my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing.”

Malachi 1:7-8 “By offering defiled food on my altar. “But you ask, ‘How have we defiled you?’ “By saying that the Lord’s table is contemptible. When you offer blind animals for sacrifice, is that not wrong? When you sacrifice lame or diseased animals, is that not wrong? Try offering them to your governor! Would he be pleased with you? Would he accept you?” says the Lord Almighty.

Contempt is defined as- the feeling that a person or a thing is beneath considered, worthless, or deserving scorn.

Worship-worthilness worthy- ship

Sacrifice -It comes from the latin word sacrificial meaning the act of making something sacred (Holy, simply worth of awe and respect.)

James 3:11 “Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?”

John 4:14 “but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst.
