Joe's story is something that everyone can benefit from hearing. Like many of us, he has had to struggle to find his purpose. His journey has not been easy, but it has hardened him into a relentless warrior. One of his life mottos is to "Be your own hero". In times of great hardship, we need to be able to look within to find the strength to keep going.

Joe got into the crypto space in 2017. Back then, it was less developed, but many people still saw the opportunities it offered. Over the next couple of years, Joe's involvement stagnated a bit as he continued to navigate life. Then, 2020 came. He realized that a lot was about to change and he dove back into crypto, even deeper than before. Right now in 2021, as the US dollar deteriorates, we are all living through the early stages of, quite possibly, the greatest shift in global economics of all time. Cal Tarasi is a Mail Carrier at The United States Postal Service. He is a Pittsburgh native that relocated to Yakima, Washington in June 2020 for a change of scenery. Prior to USPS, Cal studied Music at California University of Pennsylvania. After completing his core courses, he auditioned and was accepted into Berklee College of Music, one of the best music schools in the world. He spent one semester there and left because it wasn't right for him.

Cal is incredibly talented on the guitar and harmonica, but he doesn't believe that. He has struggled with self-deprecation and it has resulted in a lack of interest in his single biggest passion, music. He is fighting a difficult battle against himself, but he has the strength to overcome it and pursue his dream of being a full-time musician. Go get it, Cal.

A bittersweet day, for sure. Today is my last day at my full-time gig as a Marketing Director. It's difficult to move away from a situation that you've become comfortable in. For me though, the thought of regretting not pursuing my goals is much worse.

I am moving towards a lifestyle that will be much more flexible and require a higher level of self-discipline. I am ready to be the captain of my own ship and build my own empire.

Some things I've learned:

Always be grateful for the opportunities that people give you. Never burn any bridges.
Build up your network with people by providing genuine value and actually helping.
Focus on building things into your life that are productive and bring you fulfillment.
Be genuine and authentic with your recommendations. Become an expert.
Stop caring whatsoever about what other people think. It will severely limit your success. If you believe in it, go for it.
Go out and find the answer. Some people will help you, but they're not obligated to. If you want to change yourself or learn more, you have to do it for yourself.
Share your knowledge with the world. Someone needs it.

FBP #40: It's Going To Happen

We're almost at the end of this chapter. I only have a couple of days left at my full-time job. It's scary and exciting at the same time.

One thing that I am focusing on moving forward is dealing with clients and partners. Sales skills are very important and it's something that I'm not very experienced in. I have to be unshakably confident in the service that I deliver and I need to transmit that confidence over to my clients and partners. Becoming more sure of myself is my goal moving forward.

I am going to connect with more ambitious, like-minded people. This is a powerful one. I have underestimated the impact that the people around you have on your overall being.

I am ready to go all-in.

FBP #39: My 23rd Year Recap

Today is my 24th birthday. I don't like to make a big deal about the day, but I do think it's very important to reflect on the previous year and look ahead to the next.

A lot has changed in my 23rd year. I established 5 LLCs and have been focused on building them up for my future. I grew personally and professionally, including working up the courage to resign from my job and go all-in on building my empire.

I've learned that consistency is so vital. I'm constantly trying to improve on that. Just keep going and good things will happen.

As I head into year 24, I want to turn up the heat. I'll have unlimited freedom and be able to pursue fulfillment and happiness every single day.

FBP #38: Will I Run Out Of Money?

Don't make excuses when you have the ability to solve the problems you're faced with. You're only going to hurt yourself in the long run.

I am a huge proponent of minimalism. I frequently look around my room and ask myself what I could live without. Then, I list any items that fit that mold on Facebook Marketplace. For me, it's a great way to downsize and make a littel extra cash.

A couple of tips on Facebook Marketplace selling:

Sould you use it? Yes, it's too simple not to try.
Price your item higher than you think. Buyers will haggle with you.
Reply quickly and DON'T WAIT! This has made me lose a sale many times. Move in on a potential buyer as soon as possible.
Meet in a well-lit, public place, like a grocery store or police department online exchange zone.
Double confirm your meeting plan.
Be nice and give them a good buyer review.

FBP #34: Feel. Assess. Move.

Always be yourself. No matter where you're at: school, work, etc. I love getting to know people for who they really are and I try to always show my true colors to other people. By the same token, always trust yourself. When you feel something, don't ignore it. Take note of what you're feeling and try to diagnose why you feel that way. Then, make an educated decision on what you should do next and DO IT.

FBP #33: Don't Sell Yourself Short

As you go through life, you'll meet and intereact with a lot of people. Sometimes, you will disagree with what your partners, clients or friends have to say about a topic. These times, though they may be frustrating, will help you grow. The more you deal with people, the better you will become at dealing with people.

Specifically, in business, don't sell yourself short based on other people's opinions. Be confident in the work that you do. You know what you are worth, don't let other people decide that for you.

My relationship with Tesla has been a roller coaster. I truly believe in the company and Elon Musk. The mission that they are on is world-changing in magnitude and just cool overall. I've been in and out of the stock a few different times and made a few bucks. I don't think anyone could have predicted this type of growth. I don't know what could have caused the stock price to double in such a short time. The media seems to have a lot to do with it, which is crazy to me.

I've been fortunate in 24 years that I haven't had to deal with many deaths in my family. Like everyone, I will have to experience it someday. Any time someone in my sphere dies, I try to be optimistic about the situation. If they were sick, I trust that they are happier now. I also use it as one of the strongest reminders to always do what you love and what makes you happy, because you never know how much time you have left.

Alcohol, again. I've never had a drop of alcohol in my life. A little extreme, maybe. It's not for me, but I don't judge people that drink (used to, not anymore). Focus on getting better and improving your life permanently, instead of using something like alcohol to deal with it temporarily.

You have to take a focused approach to life. Speed is absolutely important, especially in a business setting. However, if tasks are done too fast or there is too much going on at one time, it can collapse a whole system. There has to be a process in place that will allow your team to complete projects quickly, but carefully. This stems down from the leader of any team. A focused attack on problems without deviating is the ideal way to build.

I saw the movie "A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood" and it got me thinking. Growing up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mr. Rogers was pretty close to home and the show had a good deal of relatability. The documentary of Fred Rogers' life, as well as the Hollywood counterpart featuring Tom Hanks, illustrated to me how caring and compassionate of a man Fred truly was. He impacted not only children but adults alike. When I see someone else put that much good into the world, I genuinely appreciate and admire it. Over the past couple of years, I have started to pay more attention to my surroundings and my normal environment. During that time, I have become much more ambitious in pursuing my goals, personally and professionally. In that same time, I have witnessed the opposite happen to people close to me, specifically my parents. I feel that it's a very normal thing to slow down as you get older, but it hurts me to see it. Are you doing things that make you happy and bring you fulfillment? Or are you just going through the motions? I strongly encourage everyone I meet to adopt this mindset and don't fall into the trap of complacency. There will be obstacles as you try to find what you really want to do, but that's not a good enough reason to ignore it. No matter what today was like, actively move towards an even better tomorrow.

The company is revolutionizing the transportation and energy industries right in front of our eyes. The critics make me laugh. What are they afraid of?

I strive every day to deepen my level of thinking, expand my knowledge base, and extend my comfort zone. There is so much information available online today. Go out and find what you're looking for!

As it relates to business, I always try to steer my clients in the right direction, in web development or even broader. Today, I was asked, "Are you scared about being on your own?"

The answer: It's definitely scary, but not as scary as thinking about how much I will regret not trying it later in life.

I'm always doing something. For the last 10+ years, I haven't had many days off. Weekdays have been spent at school or a full-time job and my weekends have been spent at my Grandma's diner. There are many pros and cons to this lifestyle, but overall I think it has benefitted me. I'm at a point in my life, however, where change is looming and will ultimately be for the better.

If you're a business owner looking to expand your team, be conscientious about how you hire new people and scale your business. While speed is important in the micro, it can hurt you on a macro level if you don't have the right mindset. Get to know and truly care about potential new hires. Make sure they will jive with your company's culture but don't jam them into a position that doesn't work for them. The addition of a new employee should be beneficial to both sides. Ultimately, the goal is to hire slow and fire fast. If you do make a mistake, rectify it as soon as possible. Don't let it affect the rest of your team.
