Have you been telling yourself: Once I get through this grief. Once I figure out my finances. Once I know who I am again — then I'll be ready to help someone else?

In this episode we go to one of the most powerful and unexpected passages in all of scripture for women in transition: John 13:1–5. The night before the crucifixion. The night Judas was about to betray Him and Peter was about to deny Him. The worst night of Jesus' life. And what did He do? He got up, took off His outer garment, wrapped a towel around His waist, and washed His disciples' feet. All of them. Including Judas.

This episode is a direct confrontation of the lie that says you have nothing to give right now. It is also one of the most freeing truths in scripture: You don't have to be whole to serve. You have to know whose you are.

We walk through three movements in the passage — the moment Jesus knew who He was, the moment He laid aside His outer garment, and the moment He washed every pair of feet in that room. And we apply each one directly to the woman who is grieving, waiting, confused, or lonely — and wondering if God can still use her.

This episode is for you if:

• You want to help other women but feel like you're too broken to give right now

• You've been using your pain as a reason to stay on the sidelines

• You've lost your identity and wonder if your best days of purpose are behind you

• You carry grief, resentment, loneliness, or fear that feels bigger than your calling

• You need permission to pick up the towel — today, exactly as you are

My Products: stan.store/thewordwomanpodcast
Contact information: thewordwomanpodcast@gmail.com

Do you ever feel like you're constantly striving — pushing, forcing, worrying, and trying to make life happen in your own strength?

In this episode of The Word Woman, we talk about the struggle many Christian women face: wanting to trust God but still trying to control everything ourselves. When life doesn’t move the way we expect, it’s easy to fall into striving instead of surrender.

Through Psalm 46:10, we explore what it really means to cease striving and rest in God's power instead of our own effort.

If you’ve ever struggled with control, anxiety about the future, or feeling like you have to make everything happen on your own, this episode will encourage you to release the pressure and trust the God who is already working on your behalf.

God never asked you to carry life alone.

In This Episode You'll Learn

What the Bible really means when it says “be still”

The difference between healthy effort and unhealthy striving

Why striving often comes from fear and lack of trust

How Psalm 46:10 invites us to surrender control to God

Why we cannot live spiritually apart from God’s strength

How the Holy Spirit helps guide and lead us daily

Simple spiritual practices that help you grow in trust with God

Key Bible Verses Mentioned

Psalm 46:10 – “Be still, and know that I am God.”

Romans 8:14 – “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.”

John 15:5 – “I am the vine; you are the branches… apart from me you can do nothing.”

Key Takeaways

Many of us spend years striving — trying to fix problems, force outcomes, and carry burdens that were never ours to carry.

But God invites us into something different.

The phrase “cease striving” in Psalm 46:10 actually comes from a Hebrew word that means to relax, let go, or sink down.

God is inviting us to release control and trust that He is already working.

When we stay connected to Him, like branches connected to the vine, He gives us the strength, direction, and peace we cannot produce on our own.

Learning to trust God is not a one-time moment — it’s a daily surrender.

Spiritual Practices Mentioned

If you're learning to trust God more deeply, try these simple practices:

Pray often
Invite God into your daily decisions and struggles.

Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance
He is our helper and counselor.

Practice fasting
If you are able, consider fasting one day a week. If a full day feels difficult, start by fasting one meal. Fasting helps quiet the flesh and draw closer to God.

Reflection Question

Are there areas of your life where you are striving instead of trusting God?

Take a moment today to surrender those things to Him.

My Products: stan.store/thewordwomanpodcast

This episode reminds us that the pain we survived was not meant to end with us. What felt like it could have broken us was actually God shaping, refining, and preserving us for a greater purpose. Through scripture, we see that God comforts us so we can comfort others, and He redeems our hardest seasons to become lifelines for those still struggling.

Our survival is not accidental—it is intentional. The lessons we learned, the faith we built, and the wisdom we gained through hardship are answers to someone else’s prayers. God does not waste pain; He transforms it into testimony, compassion, and purpose. From healed places—not open wounds—we are called to reach back, offer hope, and gently help others find their way through.

In the end, this message affirms that you didn’t just make it out—you were positioned by God to help someone else rise. Your story is proof that God is faithful, and your endurance may be the breakthrough someone else has been praying for.

My Products:

Every new season brings change — some we welcome, others we didn’t see coming. But joy isn’t tied to what stayed the same… joy grows when we learn to trust God in the shifts, transitions, and new beginnings.

In this episode, we explore what it looks like to reclaim joy, even when life feels unfamiliar. Whether you’re entering a new decade of life, adjusting to an empty nest, rediscovering yourself after loss, or simply feeling God pull you into a different direction — joy is still available to you.

✝️ Key Scripture:
“You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence there is fullness of joy.”
— Psalm 16:11
💜 In This Episode, You’ll Discover:

Why joy is a decision, not just an emotion

How God uses new seasons to stretch, strengthen, and bless you

The difference between joy and happiness — and why that matters in midlife

Practical ways to cultivate joy when life feels unfamiliar

How to stay anchored in God’s promises when everything around you is shifting

🕊️ Reflection Question:

Ask yourself this during your quiet time:
“Lord, what joy are You trying to reveal to me in this new season?”
Write down whatever comes to your heart — big or small.

🌸 Takeaway Message:

Even if you feel uncertain, overlooked, or unsure of what’s next, God has joy set aside just for you. New seasons don’t mean the end… they often mean a fresh beginning filled with purpose, wisdom, and renewed confidence.

🌿 Connect with The Word Woman:

🎧 Follow and subscribe for weekly encouragement.
💬 Share this episode with a woman who needs a reminder that joy still belongs to her.
📢 Leave a review on Spotify and Apple Podcast — it truly helps the message reach more women over 50 and beyond.
