We're only a few short weeks away from celebrating the birth of our Lord, the promise son, that would be God with us. Over the next few weeks, many of us are going to attend parties, wrap gifts, prepare meals, give presents, make trips, visit family, spend time with our friends, and go see light displays and much, much more. You know, it can be easy to get lost in all the holiday hubbub, like tartar got excited just mentioning that it's easy for the season even just pass us by like a whirlwind. And one day we're getting ready for Christ's birth. And the next thing we know the year is over. But it doesn't have to be that way. Amongst all of our busyness and our plans, we can stop and pause. We can reflect and rejoice. So join me in slowing down for just a moment. Stop and think about God's promise that a son would one day come. As we get into all the functions and the festivities of the season. Let us remember to proclaim the good news that God did keep his promise to us. That the Lord did come to his people, that he became a man. He was born as a baby, lived as an obedient son, and rescued us from the sin. There his death and resurrection on the cross. And now he dwells in the hearts of all those who believe in Him. Recall the words of Isaiah 12, one through six says you will say in that day, I will give thanks to the Lord, I will give thanks to you, oh Lord, for though you were angry with me, your anger turned away, that you might comfort me. Behold, God is my salvation. I will trust and I will not be afraid. For the Lord is my strength And my song, and he has become my salvation. With joy. You will draw water from the wells of salvation. And you will say in that day, give thanks to the Lord. call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people. proclaim that his name is exalted. Sing praises to the Lord, for He has done gloriously. Let this be made known in all the earth shout and sing for joy Oh inhabitant of Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel. One of the many benefits I have to taking my son to school every day with me is we get to talk about things pretty much every day. And one of the things I do is I always like to ask him questions to see where he's at what he's thinking, what's going through his mind. If I said, Hey, are you ready to have a bad day? How do you think that make you feel? Exactly. Nothing's happened in the day. Nothing's even occurred. But just the question itself, the question the things, the thoughts that we're thinking that we're asking ourselves, set us up for the rest of the day, and nothing's even happened yet. If I asked, Are you ready to go have a bad day? I'm going to be looking and expecting bad things to happen all day. But when I asked the question, are you ready to have a good day? You're looking and expecting for good things to happen. So here's my question for you. Are you ready to have a good day?

Thanksgiving is just a couple of days away, and I wanted to take a moment to bring you a word of encouragement and blessing. We can get caught up and all the fun and exciting things we have going on all of our events and dinners and parties, we've got this thing to be at that thing to prepare for, we have to prepare X, Y, and Z meet with so and so we have all these things going on. And it might surprise you to realize you can go the entire Thanksgiving holiday and not sit down and be thankful. So this morning, what I want you to do is take a moment, take a moment and think of one or two things that you're thankful for just the first things that come to mind. It could be something as simple as the sunshine that's out today, or the job that you're heading to the family that you're going to go see. Take those things and bring them before your father. Tell your Heavenly Father, thank you for allowing me to enjoy these blessings. Thank you for allowing me to know these people. Thank you for allowing me to have these things in my life. I hope that you all enjoy a happy and a safe Thanksgiving. Be safe on your travels. And just remember it The holidays are not about everything being picture perfect. It's not about everything going exactly as planned. It's about being together. It's about fellowshipping about loving one another, sharing with one another, enjoying each other and being thankful for all of the wonderful blessings that our Heavenly Father has given us. One of the greatest ways that you can encourage yourself and stir up your faith is to remember all the things that God has done. And not just the things that are in the Bible. Those are great things to remember and think about. But also remember all the many wonderful things that God has done for you, in your own life. Recently, a situation came up that troubled me pretty deeply. But because of the things that God had already done, in my life, and in the life of my family, I also had great comfort that God was going to take care of us and see through these things. While we were at a conference this past week, I heard one of the speakers say that faith isn't just believing in the things that God will do in the future, but also believing in the things that God has done in the past. And I thought, wow, that is such a great thing. So often we're thinking about faith in terms of what God promises to do and what he will do. And that's that's a wonderful thought to think. But it's also important for us to remember and believe all the things that God has already done. God's been a miracle working God since the beginning of time. He's worked so many miracles and done so many good things in the lives of his people. And in your life. He's done so many wonderful things. How could you not trust him? How could you not believe that he's going to continue to do good things for you. So whenever you're going through a hard time or a challenging time, or a discouraging time, I encourage you to remember all of the wonderful things that God has done for you and in your life already. Remember those things, dwell on those things, and worship Him. Let that encourage you and stir up your faith.

They say Comparison is the thief of joy. And one of the surefire ways for you to have a bad day is to walk around comparing yourself to everyone and everything. Or even worse, complaining after comparing yourself. I don't know about you, but anytime I look at someone or something and compare myself to them or see something that they have, that I don't have, that I wish I had, or that I won, or that I think it's unfair, it never helps me to have a better day, it never puts me in a better mood. In fact, it makes things worse. But here's the answer to that, instead of comparing and complaining, being thankful and grateful for all of the many, many, many blessings that you have always makes you feel a lot better. This is something I was talking to Carter about on the way here, you're talking about comparing ourselves, if we look at others, and all the things that they have, that we want. If we think about those things all the time, or we think it's unfair, or it's not right, it's gonna bring us down. But on the flip side, when we sit around and think about all the wonderful things that we have, all the blessings that we have in our life that God has given to us, that puts us in a much better mood. That helps us out to have a much better day. So instead of comparing and complaining, Let's be thankful and grateful. And see if that doesn't help you have a much, much better day.

You were made to be creative. Our imagination and creativity are important parts of our lives that we all embraced at one point. When I was his age, I imagined and created all the time. And think about a daylight today, especially when we're going to have kids going through our neighborhoods, trick or treat and dressed up as their favorite heroes are their favorite characters from TV shows. Luna is going to be Spider Girl, for instance, and Carter, who you're going to be been Ironman card is going to be dressed up as Iron Man, we all love to do that. At one point, we, as children, we'd love to create and imagine and we weren't concerned whether it was good or bad, we just like to create and make new things and try things. Somewhere along the way, a lot of us lose them. A lot of us think it's no longer okay to do those things as if, as we grow up, we need to set those creative things aside. But I think that that's a shame because I believe that we were all made to be incredibly creative. God gave each one of us specific gifts and tastes, he made you to create things that are a lot different than the things I create. So I think it's important for us to pick up the our creativity, to use our imagination, to use those things that God has laid into our hearts and our minds and our spirits. So I encourage each of you today and every day to use your imagination, creativity to do things in your own life.

You were made to shine. In Matthew chapter five, Jesus tells the Jewish people at the time to let their light shine before men so that people would see their good works and praise God. And if that's true about the Jews and shining God's light, how much more true? Is it about Christians, those who have been born again, those who have the life of Christ living inside of them, those who have the Holy Spirit, that life and that light? How much more should we let that shine for people? And this isn't about us being selfish or self promoting or anything like that? No, in fact, it's the quite the opposite. It's to let God's light shine. If you think about it like this, in the beginning of the book of John, John says, In the beginning was the Word the Word was with God, the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God, all things were made through Him. And without Him was not anything made that was made. I might have messed that up a little bit. But interesting, in a couple of verses, it says in him talking about Jesus was life, and the life was the light of men. So those of us who have Christ living within us have the light living inside of us. How much more should we let our light shine? You were made to shine as one who's an image bearer of God, first of all, but number two, as one who has been born again in Christ, you have that light, let it shine so the whole world sees your father and glorifies Him. So how do we keep little disruptions or distractions from derailing our entire day, if you're anything like me, if something goes wrong in the morning, or when you're getting ready, especially if you're behind on time, it can just mess with your entire day, then you're just kind of mad at the world because something went wrong or something unexpected happened. You're mad driving around while you're going to work or getting your kids to school. I don't know if that happens to y'all, but happens to me all the time. It's something today actually happen as I was getting ready, I go, I grabbed my favorite shirt out of the closet. And I think Man, it's gonna be a good day. I absolutely love this shirt, that shirt that makes you feel good. Put it on, I get halfway down, buttoning it up, and there's a button missing. Okay, number one, I'm already behind on the day number two, I'm mad that I can't wear the shirt today. And I'm mad that it's messed up. And I could have let that kind of mess with my entire day. But you know what I decided instead, instead of focusing on all the negative things, I was like, I'm gonna put a spin on it. Let's focus on all the good things. Do I know anybody who can fix this shirt? Yep, problem solved. Then number two, I went in, grabbed my closet, opened it up, looked at it. I have a closet full of clothes. I'm blessed to have a closet full of clothes. So I was like today is gonna be a good day. I don't care about that distraction that happened. I'm not going to let something so trivial. Set the the the mood for my entire day. Instead of focusing on the negative instead of focusing on the bad I decided let's focus on the positive. Let's focus on the good. So why don't you try that out? The next time it happens, something goes wrong, something distracts you tries to derail you, instead of focusing on the bad. Take a moment and focus on the good and see how that affects the rest of your day.

Have a Good morning on this cold and windy Tuesday, we get to bust out the jackets and the scarves get to keep ourselves warm because it actually feels like fall is in the air. I wanted to share a brief word of motivation and inspiration with you today, I want to share something that happened this morning to me as I woke up, I was getting ready, I hopped on the scale to check my bodyweight and saw that I was down 25 pounds, which is a huge milestone of towards a goal that I had set several months ago. And several months ago, I found myself in a place that I was pretty unhappy with physically. I saw where I was, and I knew where I wanted to be. And the two just weren't connecting, I lacked all the drive the motivation, the discipline, I just thought, man that's so far outside of my reach. Maybe that's just not for me anymore. Maybe the time has passed me by. And I could have stayed in that mindset. But instead what I decided to do was set the goal and make little decisions, small steps every day toward that goal, no matter how big or how small it was, whether it was just getting to the gym, making a good choice that day, or whatever. And as those good choices built up, I gained some momentum. And small victories came which made me excited which made me keep going and going. And I want to share that with you today. If you've got a goal, a vision, a dream, something you want to see accomplished, but he feels outside your reach. Don't worry about getting everything done right now as fast as you can. Instead take small steps towards that goal every single day, no matter how big or how small, and you'll be amazed where you find yourself in a couple of months. So go walk in faith and go see those dreams come to reality.

Hey, Good Monday morning on this overcast but beautiful day, I just wanted to come at you and share a quick little word with you thinking about this. I have the privilege of driving my son to school and to work every day with me. And so this morning, you know, as we're starting off on a new week, I'm sitting there thinking about how, how I want him to have a good week, all the things I want him to do and enjoy and learn and friendships and all those things. And it reminds me, you know, if I, as an earthly father, love my son this much, and I want him to just to have a good day and I'm for him and I want him to experience all the wonderful joys and successes in life. And just I want good things for my son because he's my son. And if I as an earthly father want those things for my son, how much more does our heavenly father want good things for us. And that's actually something that Jesus kind of says along the lines have in Matthew seven, when he's talking about earthly fathers what they give their sons versus Heavenly Father's, you know, when we asked him for things, and it's just a reminder of you know, view as an earthly parent, love your son and your daughter so much for them. You want good things for them? How much more? Does God love you even want good things for you? So I hope you walk in that blessing this week. Start off your Monday and new week walking in that thought that God wants nothing but but good things for you. He loves you. He's for you. He's not against you. Something happened yesterday. And I thought it was so cool. And I just had to share it with you all, as I was coming into work, like I do every morning, filled up my water bottle, and we have a water dispenser like a water fountain where you can take the top off and you can set it down, and it'll just fill up the water bottle automatically for you. So I set it down just like I do every day. And I was just getting kind of lost in my thoughts. So I looked away for just like it felt like a moment. And then when I look back, the water juices just overflowing out of the water bottle just just go on everywhere. And it's so funny, because in that small little thing. I felt like God was just telling me and reminding me, Erin, that's the life that you have living inside of you that was just overflowing just abundantly and I was just amazed at something so simple. And so little reminded me that the life that we have that's been placed inside us is that abundant, overflowing unending life. It's a fountain a spring of life welling up inside of us to eternal life. And we get to live with that every single day. And that's just incredible. Hey, good morning, everyone on this nice, cold, fall winter morning, it actually feels like fall or winter has arrived here in East Texas. And it's really nice I walked outside. And I was kind of shocked at how cold it actually was. It's a beautiful, wonderful day and I wanted to make a quick video and share something with you that's been on my heart that's just been kind of mowing through my spirit for a little bit. And I wanted to jump on and share that with you. And a Bible verse came to me this morning while I was thinking about it, and the Bible verse from the book of Psalms that many of us have heard several times, and it says that this is the day that the Lord is made, I will rejoice and be glad in it as thinking about this is the day that the Lord has made God made this day. And he made you and he gave this day to you, He blessed you with this day. And he didn't do that so that you can have a bad day or a terrible time. He did that as a blessing. God is sharing his goodness with you. And one of the things that I wanted to also share is that I believe that God made us to live abundantly, every single day, live abundantly and it doesn't matter what we're going through, we could be going through the best time in our life, or the hardest and most trying or worst season in our life. We were made to live abundantly in Christ. And the way that happens is it's it sounds, you know, yeah, we know Jesus came to give life abundant. But we don't always think about that when we're going through our day to day. And here's what I mean, regardless of your circumstances, what you're going through, that you live abundantly, as a believer in Christ, you live with His Spirit living inside of you, you have a new heart that he's given you, you have his peace, you have his joy, you live in his victory. So no matter what is going on in your life, you have this abundant life available to you. It's been given to you. All you got to do is live in it each and every day. So I want to encourage you today to live abundantly in the life that Christ has given you. So on this wonderful, cold morning, go and live abundantly, that life that he's given you live abundantly regardless of your circumstances, regardless of what's going on. If you're going to the best of the best or the worst of the worst. I encourage you to live abundantly in the life that he's given you. Hope you have a wonderful day and talk to you later.

We will also see how God originally intended for us to live, that He still offers His rest to us today, and how we may enter that rest.  

You are invited to enter that rest today- to believe the Words of God through Christ, to trust in His finished work on the cross, and enjoy the goodness of His promises.

Among all of the accomplishments, possessions, and feats, the greatest legacy that we can leave is FAITH. 

Today we learn about the FAITHFUL LEGACY that has been left by our ancestors, and how we can walk by such faith and leave the that very same legacy behind us.

Though we fail and falter, Christ never fails and He never falters. He restores all who come to Him in faith. Look to Christ and be restored!
