The past month has been murky, messy, and emotionally overwhelming thanks to Mercury retrograde in Pisces and amplified by our recent eclipse season (Feb 17 at 28° Aquarius and Mar 3 at 12° Virgo).

This week we get to say, "goodby to all that," with a Pisces new moon at 28° on Wednesday the 18th. With a sextile to Uranus you're encouraged to find new ways to move forward and embrace the inevitable change on the horizon. While the New Moon perfects, Venus squares Jupiter bringing opportunities, but also overwhelm. It's okay to say no, especially since these are the last moments of hibernation.

The spring equinox (sun into Aries) on Friday the 20th invites us to step into the next chapter. Dry your tears, put your winter coat in the back of the closet, lace up your sneakers, and get ready to go.

The Full Moon in Leo arrived on Sunday igniting our passions and asking you to use your light in the ways that are uniquely yours. Neptune's recent move into Aries, the awakening energy of Uranus stationing direct, and the concentration of planets in Aquarius are showing up as humans joining together in protest all over the world. It's a scary, but also inspiring time to be alive. This is just the beginning as Saturn will enter Aries in a few weeks to join Neptune on Feb 20th and this Full Moon has opened the door for eclipse season to begin. I know that the intensity is not letting up, but find moments for yourself to ground your body and remember to breathe. We're in a marathon, not a sprint.

New Moon in Capricorn + Aquarius Season begins

The New Moon in Capricorn is helping you set some intentions for how to you want to show up in the world right now. With all the chaos it's important to lock in on how you want to take care of yourself so you can continue to show up for yourself, your family, your community. Right now the planets are clustered together moving like cars on a train from late Capricorn to early Aquarius. They're making the same transits to the same outer planets. This energetic bottleneck is forcing us to focus on just 1-2 things. It's a powerful way to "dictate your fate," as the choices and changes you make today will likely have long standing impact.

Fortunately, the shift from Capricorn to Aquarius helps us take in the big picture view. Capricorn likes to build and maintain the structures and norms. Aquarius likes to ask if those structures are necessary and how can they be improved? In a way this moment in a microcosm of the 20 year cycle that began in 2020 when Jupiter met Saturn at 0° Aquarius.

The most notable of the transits this week are the conjunctions with Pluto. As Venus, Mercury, the Sun, and Mars join with the planet of power and transformation our survival instincts will be kicked up. How do you respond when it really matters? How do you engage when things are uncertain or even frightening? It might seem easier to just be passive and hope this moment will be over soon, but we're not living through ordinary times. It's easier to lock into the support systems you know you will need now, then to try to create them once Saturn and Neptune enter Aries. We're not getting off this ride until 2028, so what do you need to put in place now to be safe, secure, and capable of showing up in the way that you are meant to show up in the world.

New Moon in Sagittarius + a new era awaits

Mars has been out of bounds in Sagittarius and connecting with the outer planets, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. It’s been impacting our drive and motivation, leading to feelings of overwhelm and extremes in behavior. Luckily, this week Mars entered the sign of Capricorn where he is exalted, aka feeling himself. You might feel like you can finally get some traction with your to-do list.

The Sun will also enter Capricorn on Sunday, marking the winter solstice, aka one of the two days of the year when the sun “stands still” and encourages us to pause. The winter solstice is the “longest night of the year” in the Northern Hemisphere encouraging you to turn your focus inward, pull away from the hustle and bustle, at least for a few moments and connect with spirit.

The New Moon in Sagittarius arrives right before that, on Friday December 19. At 28 degrees the New Moon in Sagittarius is squaring Saturn and Neptune and inconjunct Uranus. It’s a waving green flag to finally make those changes you’ve been mulling over before the year is out.

This New Moon is activating the Saturn-Neptune conjunction that will define 2026 and have impacts that will last 35 years!

Eclipse Hangover + Pluto out of bounds

We’re in the midst of eclipse season with the September 7th Lunar Eclipse behind us and the upcoming solar eclipse on September 21st ahead of us. This week the Sun and Mercury dive into the South Node encourage us to continue to release, clean out, and surrender. Sometimes this can manifest as intense exhaustion or an energetic hangover - all to be expected as the moon wanes after a lunar eclipse. What is unusual is the out-of-bounds state of Pluto in Aquarius! We haven’t experienced this since the 1950s and its historical significance can certainly be felt in the collective at the moment.

Fortunately, we have some helpful, clarifying, and healing transits coming to our aid. Mercury will meet the Sun this weekend offering us a dose of clear thinking. Soon thereafter Mercury will oppose Saturn inviting everyone to slow down, pause, take a breath, and think it through.

On Monday, September 15th, Venus and Mars will be harmoniously connecting while they both make aspects to Chiron, the wounded healer. You might find that this eclipse season unveils the perfect moment to have some healing conversations with your partner, a friend, or even yourself.

We've made it! After 11 long weeks of Mars being retrograde, he finally stations to resume direct motion in the sign of Cancer. If you've felt stuck, stagnant, and unable to locate your motivation, you can thank Mars. While it will take a few weeks, really months, for Mars to get his mojo back, you will start to feel renewed momentum and desire to finally move forward. With Mars in Cancer, the sign of the divine mother, expect some fierce Mama Bear energy in the coming weeks. Especially when Venus retrogrades in Aries next week!

The chaos is real. With Mars retrograde and out of bounds, things feel unruly. The glimmer comes from the New Moon in Aquarius, our first conjunct Pluto (albeit a wide conjunction). This is the beginning of a new Lunar Year, the year of the wood snake. An opportunity for shedding our old skins and making ourselves open and available for the slow, steady, and sustainable transformation associated with snake years.

This New Moon is an opportunity to take stock of how you are supporting and being supported by your community. Get to work on cultivating and fortifying your local connections. In this week's episode, I mention this Ted Talk, "It Takes a Village: How Community is the Antidote to Despair."

Most importantly, when things feel unsettled (and they do since Uranus is stationing direct) you must prioritize your basic self-care. I'm talking about the basics, eat, sleep, hydrate, and move your body.

Full Moon in Cancer + Aquarius Season begins

This week starts with a Full Moon in Cancer and ends with the Sun entering Aquarius. While the Full Moon connects with Mars retrograde and Uranus, it offers an opportunity to take a new perspective on some old emotional patterns. Nurturing yourself is priority number one under these Full Moon beams.

When Venus joins Saturn and squares Jupiter, you might be in the mood to make some serious commitments. Ensure you honor your worth and your values as you negotiate your responsibilities and expectations. Speaking of expectations, if you've been feeling pressure to get on the "new year, new you" bandwagon - slow down. Mars is retrograde, asking you to rest, repair, and reflect.

Finally, the Sun enters Aquarius on Sunday joining Pluto, kicking up the Mars opposite Pluto irritation that we've all been feeling underlying the surface. When in doubt, remember that nourishing and nurturing yourself is the priority this week, and frankly, always.

Mars Retrograde + other life-altering transits

Mercury is retrograde, but so is Mars! When the red-hot planet goes backward, he packs a punch. This week I share all the details on Mars retrograde, as well as his seemingly never-ending opposition to Pluto.

Beyond Mars and Mercury retrograde, we're living under the influence of two life-altering transits right now:

Jupiter square Saturn: this calls for a compromise between what might be growing too fast and what might be suffocating under our desire to control or restrict.
Mars opposite Pluto: this is a face-off between the God of War and the God of the Underworld. If you have long pushed down trauma or resentment, beware, when it comes to the surface, Mars will make you want to explode. Please refer to the "slow down" portion of my email above and take a breath!

In addition, on this week's episode of the podcast, I share why I love this upcoming Full Moon in Gemini and a tidbit on how we are living in an Aquarian era (here's to T. Swift), but we are not in the Aquarian age.

After some super intense astrology earlier in August, we finally get to enjoy some calm. Thankfully, Mercury stations direct on August 28th and hopefully brings some clarity and decisiveness. It's Virgo season, and the Sun in this discerning and thoughtful part of the sky encourages us to get back to the rituals and routines that sustain us.

It's a calm week in the heavens, but Venus is in conversations with Neptune, Uranus, and Pluto - all the outer planets. It's a good time to get clear with your boundaries and expectations in your relationships, and maybe with your money and your values too.

As this is the final week of the moon cycle, it's important to give yourself space to rest and repair. Next week will kick off with a New Moon in Virgo and a new opportunity to manifest some new rituals and routines that will take you through the end of the year.

This is one of the most intense weeks of astrology in 2024! The best thing you can do is take care of yourself. I'm talking: drink water, eat enough food, take deep breaths, sleep... If you are taking care of the basics it will be easier to ride the waves of cosmic change.

We've got almost all the planets connecting in two different T-squares that shake up the energy and pave the way for some big shifts. Of course, the crescendo of this energy will be Monday, August 19th when the Full Moon in Aquarius occurs.

The last Full Moon (4 weeks ago) was when President Biden stepped down. That Full Moon was joined by Mercury square Uranus. Thanks to Mercury retrograding, that same square is occurring again, just as the Democratic National Convention begins.

This Mercury square Uranus signature has its fingerprints all over this presidential election. Stay tuned.

August hosts some of the most intense astrology of 2024. It all starts this weekend with a New Moon in Leo and Mercury Retrograde.

The New Moon in Leo is charged up by a sextile to Mars and Jupiter. It's like having the hand of the Universe at your back, pushing you to gather the belief in yourself so that you can go out and take action to make your desires a reality. With Venus at 29 degrees of the same sign, Leo, she is helping you finally believe that you are worthy of receiving what you really want! This New Moon packs a punch, even if you don't have strong Leo energy in your chart.

I might sound cheesy, but in this episode, I share my personal connection to the New Moon in Leo and how this moon cycle seems to be the impetus for the majorly good life-changing events I've experienced.

Then Mercury stations retrograde. From August 5-28, the planet ruling communication, technology, and logistics encourages you to slow down and reflect, revise, and rest. This retrograde will be challenging due to a square with Uranus, but it also offers an opportunity for growth and healing if you slow down enough to hear its message.

EP 149: New Moon in Virgo + Mercury goes direct

Mercury stations to resume forward motion. We may have had Venus and Mercury retrograde for much of the summer, but things have still been moving super fast! Usually retrogrades encourage a slowdown, but with Mercury in his favorite sign of Virgo, the past 3 weeks have felt jam-packed.

Hopefully, it has helped you tie up lots of loose ends and bring new systems to your work or household. Making order out of chaos is Virgo’s gift to the world.

Right before Mercury stations the New Moon in Virgo arrives on Sept 14th bringing you one last manifestation opportunity for the summer of 2023. The next few lunations will be eclipses, so plant your intentions for the remainder of the year in the fertile ground of this New Moon.

Cast your vision for the rest of the year

Mars is in Aries right now and that is going to help you set a plan for your future. This next month is going to feel like a huge step in the right direction, with a lot of forward momentum. The emotional rollercoaster we've been expecting

This eclipse season is showing us the cracks in our society and across the world, the shadow side. But they also give us the opportunity to make a change, do the work of connecting with our intuition, and put one foot in front of the other in a different way.

A moment to rest before the next eclipse

Last week was the first in a series of eclipses that will last through to the end of 2021. So while we started a new story last week, we’re also moving into a new moon solar eclipse next week that will wrap up some of our previous stories from the past couple of years. Eclipse season is about tuning in to where the energetic vibration is taking you physically, mentally, and emotionally. Pay attention to opportunities and signs that are put in your path.

This is also a Neptune week and that brings us some high vibration. Use this week to rest up and take care of yourself. Give yourself space to experience the high vibrations of Neptune this week because next week will be a big week.

Eclipse Season Has Arrived

Before I get into the astrology of the week. I want to remind you that YOU dictate your fate.

The protests, as well as the oppression and murder that has inspired them, are not the doing of the planets. Astrology reveals to us cycles and patterns; the interpretation of those cycles is up to us.

We’re constantly co-creating our experience of this life with the planets and with one another. There is a difference between spiritual surrender and not taking responsibility.

You are given free will to dictate your fate and the fate of humanity.

An eclipse season lasts for eight weeks. We’re in the second week of the season. With 3 eclipses this summer, this isn’t a phase, this is the next step in our societal transformation. Eclipses, in general, push us toward change. They give us a sense that we are in a pressure cooker and we can’t take it any longer. Expect a lot of quick change to happen in the next six weeks.

Venus will help us restrain ourselves when we want to yell at the dinner table or put the big screen TV on the credit card on Black Friday. Neptune, of course, will bring our dreams and subconscious thoughts to the surface, so you might be able to completely dissociate with your family and feel like you're floating about the drama.

These two planets in the sign of Capricorn are encouraging us to lean into the deep shifts happening in our lives. You might feel like nothing is happening; that you're stuck treading water, not moving forward. This happens whenever we have challenging Saturn aspects, but it couldn't be further from the truth. Lean into the hard work and trust that the transformation is in progress.
