No longer will the federal government treat CO2 as a gas that harms human health and welfare. It has been the lynchpin of regulatory overreach for nearly two decades, morphing into a way for the Biden administration to all but outlaw the internal combustion engine. President Trump said the Endangerment Finding has cost the U.S. economy more than $1 trillion, and EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin said the repeal will make the annoying “auto off” switch in new automobiles no longer mandatory.

Does the end of the Endangerment Finding mean the death of the climate hoax? How significant is this move, really, if it doesn’t directly address CO2 emissions from coal and natural gas power plants? Will it survive a court challenge? What more must be done to restore science and common sense to public policy?

The Trump administration also withdrew the U.S. from more than 60 other international organizations, including dozens of U.N.–linked bodies.

An unelected United Nations wants to rule over the entire globe with the power to levy direct taxes as it sees fit. During this period, over 229 million people across North America will experience extreme heat made at least three times more likely because of human-caused climate change.”

Creation of "chief heat officers" in Arizona

Phoenix is hiring a "Chief Heat Officer," in response to rising heat related deaths, which the city blames on climate change. The truth is most of those dying are homeless or drug addicts with underlying health conditions, people already in poor health. As far as Phoenix's heat, that is due, not to climate change but the city's massive growth and related increased Urban Heat Island effect. Responding to homelessness and drug use will do far more to prevent premature deaths in Phoenix than efforts to fight climate change or control the weather.

The Heartland Institute has issued a report exposing the US government’s official land-based temperature stations as hopelessly corrupt and compromised. The study, conducted by Heartland Senior Fellow Anthony Watts – an update on a previous examination of temperature stations in 2009 – was the subject of a hit-piece by Scott Waldman of E&E News and POLITICO titled “Climate denial group wants to subvert NOAA data with its own: The Heartland Institute seeks to build da nationwide network of temperature-monitoring stations.”

Well, yes we do. And we’re doing it because too many of NOAA’s historic stations are either captured by sprawl and the urban heat-island effect, in such terrible shape that they should not be relied upon for accurate data, or not even operable at all or broken – and in those cases, NOAA just makes a guess as to the temperature. That is problematic, to say the least, since temperature readings from these crappy stations is used to panic the American people, continually, by telling them that last week or this year was “the hottest ever” and that warming is happening dangerously fast.

The mystery is why the corrupt media is attacking the setting up of up state-of-the-art temperature stations with data that can be checked in real time. We followed the trial every day for nearly four weeks, and we can tell you that it was a disgrace to the professions in our legal system, the “profession” of juries to administer justice, and the professions in alarmist climate science. In short, the whole thing was a disgrace.

After 12 years of delays, the defamation lawsuit brought by climate scientist Michael Mann and writer Mark Steyn finally began this week. Mann sued Steyn and others in 2012 claiming they libeled him when they mocked his infamous “hockey stick” graph that has been the lynchpin of climate alarmism for decades. Steyn compared the cover-up of Mann’s shoddy science at his then-employer Penn State University to the way the school covered up the horrible sexual abuse crimes conducted by disgraced football coach Jerry Sandusky and then whitewashed an internal investigation.

Steyn, who gave one of the greatest keynotes ever at a Heartland climate conference about this case a while back (see below for a link), has been itching for this trial to finally happen since Obama was just starting his second term. It was Mann who employed one delaying tactic after another in an attempt to scare Steyn off.

Steyn never backs down from a fight, and is putting Mann’s hockey stick itself on trial. And, in a twist that will be either brilliant or disastrous, Steyn is acting as his own attorney in this civil suit.

The other day, Heartland Institute Research Fellow for Environment and Energy Policy Linnea Lueken was a guest on the Ron Arquette Show on KRNS radio in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was invited on to talk about a new paper she wrote with Heartland's Tim Benson titled "Debunking Four Persistent Myths About Hydraulic Fracturing." As Linnea explains, "fracking," as it's commonly called, is the process of extracting natural gas and oil from several miles deep beneath the surface of the Earth. This revolutionary technique -- combined with horizontal drilling -- has made America a global energy leader again and created thousands of good-paying jobs. But opponents of fracking peddle myths about damage the process does to drinking water, causing air pollution, health problems, and even earthquakes.

Just this week, when there was supposedly the "hottest day ever" on the planet (it wasn't, even NOAA couldn't confirm it), U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the latest numbers help prove “that climate change is out of control.”

We're Doomed... Again! IPCC and Media Jump the Shark

Earlier this week, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released its AR6 climate change report. Expectedly, the report is defined by serial doomcasting and claims of impending catastrophe despite the growing mountain of failed predictions that are conveniently ignored.

One of the most controversial claims made in the report is that anthropogenic emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) is the main driver of temperature change. Real-world data has proven this false, yet it’s the main takeaway in each IPCC report.

First released on Monday was the “Summary for Policymakers,” a section intended to guide policymaking decisions across the globe. The AR6 report continues to omit key information in favor of sensationalized claims that are easily refuted. For example, the 36-page summary doesn’t include a single mention of the logarithmic relationship between atmospheric CO2 concentrations and global temperature. Surely, policymakers should know that each unit of CO2 added to the atmosphere has a decreasing effect on temperature. The IPCC’s omission of this relationship implies that the warming effect of CO2 concentrations is linear, leading policymakers to overestimate the impact of CO2 emissions on global temperature and overcommit to emissions reduction strategies that are expensive and ineffective.

White controversially writes that the present warming is impacted by shifts in the earth's tilt.

Biden will have to continue advancing his agenda through executive action. At COP27 more promises of climate payments are expected, but as in the past, they are likely to amount to promises unfulfilled.

Previous agreements to send climate payments to developing countries often never come to fruition. Why would any agreement signed this year differ? In the meantime, coal use increases, and CO2 emissions keep rising, but weather events stubbornly refuse to get more extreme.

Today’s guests, Pierre Desrochers and Joanna Szurmak, are authors of the book “Population Bombed!: Exploding the Link Between Overpopulation and Climate Change.” The authors explain why population growth is not causing dangerous climate change nor is it bad outright.

In reality, an increasing population with longer average lifespans only improves humanities rate of discovering new resources to use and technologies to improve lives. Plus, environmental stewardship will improve as a result.

The Heartland Institute has joined allies in hiring a law firm to fight the wind power project off the coast of Virginia that may end the existence of the North Atlantic right whale.

Heartland Institute President James Taylor joined the "Mike Ferguson in the Morning" show in St. Louis to talk about Heartland's involvement in an effort to protect the North Atlantic right whale — of which there are only about 300 left — as well as how other supposedly "green" energy projects have turned what we think of environmentalism on its head. Wind power companies can kill thousands of birds and bats, many of them endangered, with no penalty from the government. But if a random bird dies on the property of a conventional energy plant, the feds drop the hammer.

A new bombshell report found that 96% of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) temperature stations produce corrupted data due to purposeful placement in man-made hot spots. These stations fail to meet the published standards deemed "acceptable" by NOAA itself.

This nationwide study follows up widespread corruption and heat biases found at NOAA stations in 2009, and the heat-bias distortion problem is even worse now.

The report eviscerates the media's narrative that the Earth is seeing runaway global warming. Has the Earth warmed over the last 20 years? Yes. Has it warmed to the degree the media claims? No. And most importantly, is it catastrophic? Absolutely not.
