The championship belt is broken. Element X is scattered across the universe. And the only ones who can recover it? A Justice League of DC heroes — and the All Elite.

In our first-ever wrestling episode, Guido and Rob share their origin stories as brand-new AEW converts — 44 combined years of indifference, undone in a matter of months — and unpack why pro wrestling is the ultimate genre crossover: drag queens plus comic books plus soap opera. From Hulk Hogan to NWO to finally falling for AEW in 2025, they trace the path that brought them to this Forbidden Door.

We kick off with AEW Origins: Special Edition #1, writer Steve Orlando's promo-style introduction to the AEW roster for DC readers. Timeless Toni Storm, Orange Cassidy, Darby Allin, Will Ospreay, Swerve Strickland, Dr. Britt Baker DMD, and more get their two-page origin moments — with the economy and absurdist charm that only a true wrestling fanatic writing comics could deliver. (Orange Cassidy's "origin": he found a pair of aviator sunglasses. Perfect.)

Then we step through the door into DC x AEW #1–2, where Orlando and artist Travis Mercer throw everything at the wall — and most of it sticks. Nightwing and Will Ospreay take on the League of Assassins. Guy Gardner and Jon Moxley clean up the Mutant Gang. Hawkgirl and Hangman Adam Page battle evil Puritans from Limbo (the skeptical cowboy very much not buying Hawkgirl's past lives story). Orange Cassidy and Harley Quinn trade deadpan one-liners while dismantling the Royal Flush Gang. Zatanna and Timeless Toni Storm face Johnny Sorrow — with Toni absolutely unable to stop flirting with Zatanna. Batman and Darby Allin confront the Joker, with Sting stepping out of the shadows to lend a hand. And in the climax, Kenny Omega becomes the God of Wrestling through the power of a Mother Box — before giving it all up to restore the universe.

Oh, and Mercedes Moné turns heel and sides with Lex Luthor. Because of course she does.

They wrap by pondering what comes next for the DC x AEW universe: more heels, a Don Callis and Lex Luthor team-up, a potential Lobo/Supergirl promotional tie-in, and whether Jason Momoa was always destined to step through the ropes.

We're diving into the one and only appearance of an Earth where the Main Man himself rides into Gotham on a contract — hired by Scarface to take out the Joker, only for the Clown Prince of Crime to flip the script and redirect Lobo's chaos at the Batman. We begin by tracing Lobo's surprisingly obscure origins, from a blink-and-you'll-miss-it debut in Omega Men #3 to the 1990 miniseries where Simon Bisley gave him the iconic look the world came to know. Along the way we compare him to Deadpool and Wolverine, explore his strange staying power, and unpack why his strict personal code of honor makes him more interesting than he first appears.

We begin our journey with the Silver Age debut of DC Comics’ Challengers of the Unknown in Showcase #6, created (or co-created) by Jack Kirby, and trace the team's wild legacy through the decades—including Nazi-busting villains, zombie plagues, and their bizarre Weirdoverse revival in the 1990s.

It's more silver age silliness! After our recent Jimmy Olsen issue, we are talking about Superman's main squeeze: Lois Lane. We talk her origins from Siegel & Shuster (and Joanne Carter) and then cover an early story from Don Cameron & Ed Dobrotka that sees Lois talk someone off a ledge (literally). We then cover a zany issue of Superman's Girl Friend Lois Lane where Lois faces off against gangsters, an opium smuggler and an octopus without the help of Superman (or so she thinks). Plus, lookout for a truly bizarre Krypton cameo! Later in that issue, Lois discovers Superman has a secret mermaid wife and child on another planet but everything might not be what it appears to be in this story from the pencil of iconic Lois Lane artist Kurt Schaffenberger. I hope your sister is off the phone and you have your free AOL CD-Rom ready because this episode we are going cyberpunk as The X-Men go full hackers in this 2018 What If issue from Bryan Edward Hill, Neil Edwards and Giannis Milonogiannis that sees Professor X recruit Cable and Domino to take down a plugged in Magneto. We then head back to this world in 2019 courtesy Zac Thompson, Lonnie Nadler and André Lima Araújo in a backup story that has "Wolverine" battling a cyber monster. We celebrate Thanksgiving with a trip to Gotham City in this Harley Quinn themed episode. We start by talking about Harley's appearances in TV and film from Batman the Animated Series to Margot Robbie plus her first appearances in comic books. We then talk Batman: Harley Quinn #1 from 1999 that sees Harley partner with Poison Ivy, double cross Batman and take revenge on the Joker. Then we head to the dinner table with a Thanksgiving themed issue that sees Harley and Booster Gold traveling the multiverse as Harley attempts to stop all DC comic book events as a revenge for the death of her month while back in the "real" world, she is desperately trying to bring together her family for a Thanksgiving meal. Following up on last week's Jason vs. Leatherface episode, we return to the world of Jason Voorhees courtesy his trip to outer space in Jason X on film and in comics. We go through the very long road to Jason X on screen (and the weird way John Carpenter might have played a role), debate if screenwriter Todd Farmer wrote this as a Friday the 13th film, and talk the lack of deaths on screen. We then switch to comics to talk Brian Polito and Mike Wolfer's versions of Uber-Jason on the page and wrap up by debating what characters we want to face other versions of themselves in horror and comics.
