Anne Stricherz has been speaking the language of sports and spirituality her entire life. In 2009, Anne created a blog and theology course entitled Sports & Spirituality. An avid sports fan, Anne believes we can learn more about the spiritual life through the analogy of sports. The class and her writing is fortified by Anne’s experience in having coached girls' high school rowing, cross-country and golf.

Today she works with coaches to help them create their own program for the spiritual development of their athletes. She is the author of "Pray and Practice with Purpose: A Playbook for the Spiritual Development of Athletes"—a book to serve as a complimentary resource.

Kelly encourages us to expose, remind and revisit the Scientific Method with our students.  If we want to start our own Invention Convention we should look into the official competition for ideas but don’t get overwhelmed; start really small.  You can run your own “Science Fair Meets Shark Tank” anyway you like it, even just as a simple project.  Over time you will find what works for you and for the students, so it can grow as needed but keep it simple, keep it fun and keep them curious!

Mary invites us to think about what the students might want and what they need in regard to enrichment classes.  If we consider their interests, the faculty’s skills, the Student Learning Expectations and our school mission, then we can’t really go wrong in picking a class to reinvent or create. Theresa reminds us to first focus on developing the vision, getting the “balcony view” to see where we want to take our schools, taking care of some early easy wins, and then really “anchoring yourself in the mission.” That mission has to not just be some pretty words but something that we are willing to chase everyday.
