In episode one, we laid the groundwork for what's been going on in the housing crisis. In episode two we set up the solutions on a policy level, having Francis Cortellino and Marie José Houle on to discuss what they're doing within the system. However, policy and action take two kinds of folks-- policy makers, and people who work on the ground. Thinkers are important, theory is essential, but who works beside those living the reality of the housing crisis?

This week we tell the story of how Isaac blew on online, and gained fifteen minutes of fame and we have two very well known people on to discuss the crisis. Lynn O'Donnel works from CACV, a group in Verdun, Montreal that helps people all over the city deal with landlords who choose to abuse their power. On the other side, we have Ricardo Tranjan, probably one of Canada's top thinkers around the housing crisis, and author of the book "the Tenant Class." These two dive straight into actionable solutions that are more practical on an individual level.

Check out our written companion pieces on https://Pivot.quebec, and please subscribe to the https://therover.ca and https://duoduet.substack.com !

Isaac Peltz: @isaacapeltz
Gabrielle Brassard Lecours: @gabettebl

All sound was mixed and mastered by Isaac Peltz & Gabrielle Brassard Lecours
All interviews conducted by Isaac Peltz & Gabrielle Brassard Lecours
This was made possible because of a grant by AJIQ!

Today we dive into the types of people who are really, REALLY doing the lords work in the institutions which count. We have Catherine Fournier on (and mention Andres Fontecilla) and she's one of the rare people in power doing work in her city. And then we talk about the behind the scenes drama! Afterwards we have an interview with Util, a non-profit housing builder/management company that is working to improve the lives of Students in Montreal. Finally, we have Elaine Larouche from Moisson Montreal to talk about food banks and how bad the situation has become.

Who are the people suffering during this crisis? Yes, we've talked about statistics and seen the political world behind all this-- but practically. Who is it that is suffering?

Well, it's just people like you and I.

Beyond the stats, real people are going through hard times. We asked a couple. We investigated one incident. And we heard again from Dave Chapman. It's not just an idea that this is a tough time, people are genuinely suffering. So lets hear them speak in the final episode of the investigation.
