Slavik Go on Impacting Youth in Ukraine

After graduating SMBS in 2012, Slavik went on a missionary trip to Ukraine as the leader of his group. This trip became memorable for him. For 11 years now, he's been serving in the village of Znamenivka, these years changed everything in his life. On missions, he's seen how God saves, frees, heals, and changes people. He understood that this is the best thing that he could be doing with his life. It is exactly on missions, where God blessed Slavic with a wonderful and loving wife Julie, whom he married in 2014 and now serving together with. For their future, they are willing to serve God as long as He leads them in such ministries as raising up new missionaries, providing a platform through which many people can step into their calling, and doing various projects that aim towards both believers and unbelievers.

In the past 2 years, she attended training to be equipped in mass crusade evangelism and then was deployed to the nations. She has seen over 500,000 people give their life to Jesus and firmly believe the Lord is just getting started. Victoria’s life mandate is to be so consumed by the love of Jesus that by the overflow of that, something may be imparted into the lives of the people she meets. Victoria wants to see the gospel taken around the world and to continually say “yes” to all the Lord asks of her.

Sam Childers, is better known as the Machine Gun Preacher.
Childers life is the basis of a movie starring Gerard Butler. It centers around his transition from a drug-dealing biker to a man who found God and turned his focus to rescuing kids in some of Africa's most dangerous areas.
Sam believes that whoever hears his story will have hope for their life, "If they just take a little bit of that story in,” he said. “Just look deep into my story, if God can change me and use me... Imagine what he can do for you."

She coordinates City Women, which is an umbrella organisation for 15 ministries that are reaching out into the city to help women and girls. City Women seeks to mobilise women from all different churches to work together to reach the city and heal the pain. City Women continues to expand into other cities & towns, including the Gold Coast, Illawarra, Caboolture, Liverpool, Townsville, and other regional towns. In 2016 Letitia launched The City Free From Porn campaign with her Mayor Paul Antonio. This campaign seeks to raise awareness & education about the harms of porn. She has authored several books including “Still Fighting for Our Daughters”, “The Little Handbook of Disruptive Women” & most recently “Disruptive City Women.” Letitia is passionate and will certainly stir you to take responsibility for your city and make a difference.

Grethe Stanley is the Founder of Daughters of the King Conferences & co-founder of DOK Global

I love life and I am passionate about my family and my faith in Christ. I love motivating women to become all that they were created to be. I am a great believer in the power of the spoken word, we can either create something positive or we can create something negative by the words we use.

I keep fit by walking and doing aqua aerobics. I like fashion, good food, good wine, dark chocolate and meeting with friends.

My Late husband Andrew and I have five grown-up children, 13 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. I live on the Sunshine Coast of Australia with my delightful cat, Buttercup.
I have three quotes that I live by:-
• I can because HE (God) enables me
• Just do it
• Age is mind over matter, and if you don't mind then it doesn't matter.

Gretha is one of our Global Impact Partners who are still actively engaged with mission even though she is in her 70s.

Grethe lived with her husband Andrew in Eastern Europe from 2004 to 2012 where their main purpose was to bring reconciliation between the Christian Pastors and Leaders of the States of former Yugoslavia.
Grethe had felt in her heart before she left Australia to start a conference for women in that region. When they arrived they found that women were very oppressed and there was nothing in the churches specifically for women.
While God was using the Reconciliation Gathering powerfully to write a new chapter for His Church in the Balkans region, Grethe organised the first "Daughters of the King" (DOK) conference in 2007 which became an annual event.
Daughters of the King has had a profound impact amongst women in the Balkans over the ensuing years expanding to encompass mini-conferences in Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Croatia and annual events in Bulgaria and Myanmar.
Recently, with overseas travel suspended, Grethe has supported local women who are stepping up to lead and she has expanded Daughters of the King through online ministry so that, at the beginning of 2021, there were over 4000 followers from 79 different nations.

Berni Morris-Smith on Raw Grief, New Hope and Wild Adventures

Berni's journey in life started in the UK, marrying Tim and emigrating to Australia in 1999. Together they had a passion and purpose to make a difference in people's lives by empowering the strengths of others and guiding them in their journeys.

They moved to the Sunshine Coast 8 years ago where Tim trained to be a teacher and where they now live. They have 2 amazing sons 19 and 18. Tragically 3 years ago Tim passed away after a terminal illness that rocked their lives, their faith, and everything in their world.

Berni's journey of faith and determination is remarkable. Tim left a legacy through his work with walkawhile.org, helping build social enterprises with a remote indigenous community west of Alice Springs. This legacy has been a blessing to Berni. Berni and her family are committed to helping this community in any way they can and continues to fundraise for them to reach their goals.

They have walked through the "valley of death" as she calls it. She describes the deep loss as falling onto rocks and being grazed, bruised, and then grazed again and again.

Despite this she has felt a calling to help other women in their journey; young, old, single, married, widowed, and divorced to find their self-worth, identity, and joy in the depths of despair. Berni wants to help them find ridiculous restoration by trusting in God and knowing that in the toughest, most impossible, times He can bring fun, joy, and adventures that can help and restore your soul and enable living life to the full even in loss.

She has been blessed with new friendships that have helped her discover the joy of creation, being in nature, and taking people on adventures out of their comfort zone to build hope and belief in themselves. Berni's adventures are only just beginning from the rawness and reality of her heart.

To help support Berni’s fundraising for Walk-a-While, she’s moving out of her comfort zones still...even doing a half marathon when she doesn’t like running!

Melanie Menzel has been grooving with her feet since the day she was born and right from a little girl has been exploring different types of movement such as ballet, contemporary, jazz & hip hop with hip hop being the style that really makes her come alive inside and out.

Yeppoon in central Queensland is where Mel and her Husband Mark are based. Having been married for over 17 years they lived in Toowoomba and on the Sunshine Coast prior to moving to the island-filled region on the Capricorn coast. If you can’t find Mel and Mark anywhere they will be on a secluded beach, hiking, soaking up rays, and generally dropping off the radar and into nature while recharging with some hip hop beats!

Mel’s passion as a dancer is for every person she teaches to know and feel that they can move confidently and be creative just as they are, helping people understand that dance is more than just moving body parts for an audience’s visual pleasure. Her aim when teaching is to help people experience dance as a movement from the heart that takes them on an expressive journey of emotions and creative release inexpressible through any other form. As the founder of the dance and creative arts company Relentless179, Mel coaches dancers on how to tell stories & parables, taking people on a journey to know the awareness of His presence and dance for an audience of One.

Having taken her dance style all over the world to places like the Philippines, Eastern Europe, Asia, and Ethiopia, Mel’s cultural influences and love for people drive her to help people shine through movement and become all they are created to be.

Originally a High School teacher from Brisbane Australia, Bec moved to South Africa in 2009 to become the youth and children's pastor for Life Church Cape Town. Before moving to South Africa, Bec's greatest passion was traveling, especially in Africa, and advocating for vulnerable children. In January 2015, Bec transitioned to become the South African Director of Life Child, a ministry born out of Life Church, with its primary aim to reach orphan and vulnerable children and restore communities for generational change. Over the last 12 months, Bec has now finished her season as director of Life Child and is in a transition season of waiting on God. Bec is the proud Mom of twin 11-year-old girls, Buhle Esther & Okuhle Abigail.

Claire Roberts lives on the Gold Coast with her husband and first started blogging close to 10 years ago. She loves to write and give gifts, so it made sense for her to create a business where she makes inspirational candles & writes to give hope. She is passionate about pain not having the final say over anyone’s life, and everyone discover the beauty of their own life – even when it looks different from what they wanted.

Claire is not unfamiliar with pain, and her story is of one woman travelling through many different seasons - mental health, family breakdowns, suicide, eating disorders, and a decade-long fertility struggle. She’s found a way to put volume to her story by writing her first book, Standing Well. This book beautifully & carefully explores having faith, both finding it and fighting to keep it when nothing in life seems fair or good.

Although this book is heavily influenced by Claire's Christian faith, her story is one that will touch the heart of Christians and non-Christians. Nothing is off limits in Standing Well as Claire shares daily devotionals and journal entries, and openly explores the big questions we all ask, often silently. He co-founded 100x with his wife Claire to facilitate this. Through conferences, consulting, and coaching awakens people to their God-given purpose in business and practically equips them to increase their time, money, and mission.

Prior to this, Peter founded Cavalry. What began from a single bedroom in 2000, grew to a multi-national, multi-award-winning Managed-Cloud business, which was successfully acquired in 2018 by a Multi-national firm.

With his personal track record of taking his own start-up to sale, and working with businesses to achieve multiple returns, Peter has been invited to speak across multiple platforms including radio, TV, and Podcasts with international reach.

He holds an Executive MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management where he was voted “Most likely to succeed as CEO”, and was a scholarship recipient for his Bachelor's Degree. Like so many, Katie Thompson found herself on a journey to ‘Be That’ person she felt stirring within her. Katie is certainly familiar with the internal battle of knowing the woman, wife, mother, leader, and friend Jesus has for her and the journey of finding the freedom of walking that out, daily.

So often it feels easier to stay bound in circumstances, allowing the pressures of life to keep us focussed on past experiences that have caused pain or perhaps in turn caused pain to others. However, she has positioned herself to champion this cause of freedom and help others live out who they are created to be.

To do that her organization ‘Be That’ has created a global Television Show, Mentorship programs, YouVersion devotionals, and resource gift boxes, All designed to bring Individuals to a place that can help identify areas that can be holding someone back.

Be That gives the practical tools and strategies on how to make changes and step into a new found freedom.

Katie believes that when we find the courage to start a healthy conversation and to bring our struggles to the light, this is where we strengthen our connections with others and begin to see real change in our lives and then empower us to help others do the same.

Jenny is the Founder and CEO of Imani Collective — a social enterprise and holistic women’s empowerment program in Mombasa, Kenya committed to breaking the generational poverty. Having lived as an integral part of her Kenyan community since 2013, she is committed to the collaborative advancement of equitable opportunity for the friends she works with every day, as well as for marginalized populations world-wide.
She also is the Co-Founder of the School of Ethical Impact and brings a unique intersection of both classroom and real-world social entrepreneurship expertise. She holds a M.Ed in Leadership Development and Communications and recently graduated with her Ed.D. Her doctoral research was focused on the resource gaps presented for social entrepreneurs and the challenges they faced in implementing change. She has a graduate certificate in nonprofit management from Texas A&M University as well as corporate sustainability and innovation certificate from Harvard University.

Jenny has been involved as a fellow with the Stanford | Seed Transformation Program through Stanford University and the IKEA social entrepreneurship program as well as a constant advocate for women empowerment and sustainable practices in the social impact sector.

But this is only part of her identity: Most days you can find her laughing with her kiddos, wandering the streets of Mombasa, or simply enjoying a great cup of Kenyan coffee. She wears many hats, but some of her favorites are being a wife and mother of three who is passionate about spreading joy and helping inspire women from all walks of life to pursue their dreams and step into their true potential.

Ed Rush on Keys to a Fresh Perspective

950 miles an hour. Now that’s fast. But it’s not nearly as fast as Ed Rush flew in his combat career as a decorated F-18 pilot which included over 50 combat missions and 2 tours to Iraq. While in the Marines, Ed served as the one of the country’s leading instructors on aerial dog fighting and recently worked as a key player in the development of the new F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.

After 2 combat tours to Iraq, Ed left full-time active duty to speak, write, and share a message that will change the world. Ed’s clients range from small startups to multi-million dollar – multi-national organizations and include CEOs, founders, political leaders, sports teams, national universities, Hollywood stars, and one of the contestants on Season #1 of Donald Trump’s The Apprentice.

He has achieved all of this despite possessing a below-average intelligence (case in point: Ed failed Kindergarten).

Nicci Toomey is an inspirational writer, speaker, and author of The Time is Now, a call to the church and its people to take a fresh look at the great commission.
Having spent equal amounts of time in a small community church and a multi-campus global church, Nicci draws from her experience serving in a wide range of ministries behind the scenes, among the people, and from the platform. On completing a Cert IV in Ministry (Pastoral Leadership), she felt compelled to veer off the study path and pursue writing.
After walking more years without Jesus than with Him, Nicci is uniquely positioned to understand both sides of the evangelical call. Her greatest desire is to encourage people to place their hope in Jesus and, once discovered, share that hope with those around them.
Navigating her family’s multiple disabilities means life is not always easy. Still, Nicci trusts the light of Jesus in her and has the power to shine bright for all to see because God doesn’t need a perfect life, simply a surrendered one.

Nicci is a wife and mother living on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, Australia. Categorising herself as an ‘introverted people lover’ who relishes a quiet, calm environment, you’ll likely find her in a quiet corner somewhere or laughing and loving life with friends.

Jo Bouris is married to Nathan and is a mum to Mia, Evie & Jake. She has been working in radio and television for the past 18 years on the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, and Sydney!

Jo and Nathan also serve in the Creative Team for Hillsong Sunshine Coast North. She manages a few Airbnb’s for her clients on the Sunshine Coast but when she isn’t doing that or filming for Be That, you will probably find her driving the kids around, walking the beach, at the gym, having coffee with friends, or juggling all the domestic duties that come with family life!

She is a foodie, a fan of Seinfeld, and loves to cook (and eat) & read books. She is passionate about charity work, loves inspiring quotes, and enjoys finding ways to be healthy in body, mind, and spirit!

Jem works in Church Communications and loves speaking from God’s word whenever she gets the chance. Jem is passionate about sharing the gospel and imparting to others God’s heart and purpose for their life.

Sharon Garlough Brown is a spiritual director, speaker, and co-founder of Abiding Way Ministries, providing spiritual formation retreats and resources. She is the author of Shades of Light, the Shades of Light Study Guide, Remember Me, and the bestselling Sensible Shoes Series, which includes the spiritual formation novels Sensible Shoes, Two Steps Forward, Barefoot, An Extra Mile, and their study guides. Her latest work, Feathers of Hope (third in the Shades of Light series) releases in April 2022.
A graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary, Sharon has served on the pastoral staff of congregations in Scotland, Oklahoma, England, and most recently in West Michigan, where she co-pastored with her husband, Jack, for many years. In March 2013 her book Sensible Shoes was named one of television personality Kathie Lee Gifford's "favorite things," and in December 2018 An Extra Mile was awarded Christianity Today's "Fiction Book of the Year."
