Reading Straight Through 1 Thessalonians with some discussion

Paul writes because he is concerned the relatively new Christians in Thessalonika will be discouraged due to their intense persecution. He compares what they are going through to the unbelieving Jews in Jerusalem killing Christ and the prophets, so we know it was serious. He draws a clear distinction between this persecution and the wrath of God, which the Thessalonian Christians can be sure they are delivered from. He also clears up some concerns about believers who have died, declaring that all believers in Jesus Christ, dead or alive, will be caught up to meet him in the air. Following the Passover Through the Bible

From its institution, the Passover was open for anyone who trusted in Yahweh to celebrate. There was only one requirement and it wasn't being descended from Israel. However, Israel is obviously still chosen as part of the celebration because of where the Passover was to be celebrated, a mysterious place until they entered the Promised Land. Also, there is a surprising link between Passover and Joseph of Arimathea found in Numbers 9:10.

Bible Memory Songs - Colossians 2:6-10

When our children were young, being raised at home, we had Bible reading pretty much every morning. As part of that, I put many passages to song for easier memorization. We recorded most of them. Some of them I "produced" in a very minimal way using Garageband loops and such. All scripture for these songs is from the New King James Version translation of the Bible. Sennacherib comes against Jerusalem after capturing all the fortified cities of Judah. He sends Rabshakeh to tell the people of Jerusalem not to believe if Hezekiah says to trust Yahweh, for no other gods have been able to save people from the King of Assyria. Hezekiah sends a message to Isaiah, who tells him not to be afraid. Then Rabshakeh returns and threatens them again. This time Hezekiah goes himself to pray to Yahweh and a message comes through Isaiah that Sennacherib has been arrogant, he will go away and not come back, and the remnant of Jerusalem will escape to plant and harvest. Yahweh's angel kills 185,000 Assyrians in one night, so Sennacherib goes home, only to be murdered by two of his sons. Read from the World English Bible.
