And after everything we went through, there's only one way to recap it:

THE GOOD. THE BAD. AND THE UGLY.

On this season recap edition of Battered Mets Fans, we're looking back at the entire 2026 Mets season — from the expectations we had coming into the year to the disastrous stretches, bright spots, disappointments and decisions that ultimately defined it.

We'll break down:

THE GOOD — The players who emerged, young talent that gave us hope, unexpected bright spots and anything we can actually feel good about heading into 2027.

THE BAD — Players who disappointed, inconsistent performances, injuries, questionable decisions and all the opportunities the Mets let slip away.

THE UGLY — The moments we'd rather forget, the stretches when everything fell apart and how a season with expectations turned into one of the most frustrating years we've experienced.

We'll also discuss Andy Green officially taking over moving forward, which players should be part of the future, who shouldn't be back, and what needs to change this offseason.

After months of talking about this team, it's time for the final verdict on 2026.

What was your GOOD, BAD and UGLY of the Mets season?

LGM. We'll try this again in 2027.

The Mets have removed the interim tag and signed Green to a three-year contract, keeping him in charge through the 2029 season. Green took over after Carlos Mendoza was fired following a disastrous 34–47 start, and the Mets have gone 37–38 under Green.

But after one of the most disappointing Mets seasons in recent memory, was bringing Green back really the right move?

On this episode of Battered Mets Fans, we're reacting to the breaking news and discussing what Green did to earn the job, what changed after he took over, his relationship with the Mets' emerging young core, and whether the organization should have conducted a broader managerial search instead.

Steve and Alex Cohen specifically credited Green with bringing discipline, accountability and positivity to the clubhouse, while David Stearns said Green demonstrated an ability to connect with both the team's emerging core and veteran players.

Now the question becomes much bigger than 2026:

Is Andy Green the manager who can lead the Mets back to contention in 2027 and beyond?

We're breaking it all down and handing the decision over to Mets fans: right move or wrong move?

After months of inconsistency, disappointment and missed opportunities, the Mets just delivered an embarrassing week of baseball that felt like the perfect statement on everything that has gone wrong in 2026.

On this episode of Battered Mets Fans, Manny and Ronnie break down the brutal week, the performances that frustrated us most, the decisions that deserve questioning, and how a season that entered with expectations turned into something we'd rather forget.

We'll also step back and look at the bigger picture. How did the Mets get here? Who deserves the blame? Which players actually gave us something positive? And what needs to change before 2027?

At this point, there's almost nothing left to say.

An embarrassing statement to a pathetic Mets season.

Welcome to Battered Mets Fans. The name has rarely felt more appropriate.

Pete Alonso returns to Queens as the Mets welcome the Baltimore Orioles to Citi Field — and this is going to feel strange.

After everything Alonso meant to the Mets and Mets fans, we'll talk about what we expect from his return, the reception he'll receive at Citi Field and what it will be like seeing the Polar Bear back in Queens on the other side.

But before we get there, we have a Subway Series to recap.

The Mets dropped two of three to the Yankees, adding another disappointing series to what has already been a brutal 2026 season. We'll break down what happened against the Yankees before turning our attention to Alonso and the Orioles.

On this episode of Battered Mets Fans:

The 2026 Mets season may not have given us much to celebrate, but seeing the Polar Bear back at Citi Field is going to be one of the most interesting — and emotional — moments left on the schedule.

Welcome home, Pete.

Time is running out, but there's still baseball left — and if the Mets are going to finish this nightmare of a season on a positive note, this weekend would be a pretty good place to start.

It's SUBWAY SERIES TIME.

The Mets and Yankees meet in New York on a particularly meaningful weekend as the city marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

On this episode of Battered Mets Fans, we're looking back at what's gone wrong for the Mets, where things stand as the season approaches its finish, and whether a strong final stretch can give fans something — anything — to feel good about heading into the offseason.

Then we'll preview Mets vs. Yankees and discuss the biggest storylines heading into the Subway Series.

Can the Mets finally build some momentum?

Can they take down the Yankees?

And after everything that's gone wrong this season, what would a strong finish actually mean?

After the high of winning the Yankees series, the Mets have completely flipped the script — getting swept by the Marlins and losing 5 of their last 6 games.

In this episode of Battered Mets Fans, we break down a brutal series in Miami:

What went wrong in all three games
Starting pitching struggles and bullpen issues
Missed opportunities at the plate
Defensive mistakes that cost games
Coaching decisions that didn’t make sense
And why this feels like the same Mets story all over again

Is this just a bad stretch…
or are the Mets officially spiraling again?

Because if you’re a Mets fan… you’ve seen this before.

After another series, the Mets continue their improved run in May — but despite the results, there are still major questions surrounding this team.

In this episode of Battered Mets Fans, we break down the full series from May 15–May 17:

Starting pitching performances — who stepped up and who struggled
The biggest moments that defined each game
Key hitters driving the offense
Bullpen usage — what worked and what didn’t
Defensive mistakes and missed opportunities
And the biggest question — can we actually trust this version of the Mets?

They’re winning more games…
…but not in a way that makes Mets fans comfortable.

After taking back-to-back series and going 4-2 over their last 6 games, the Mets have officially flipped the script to start May. The bats are coming alive, the pitching is settling in, and for the first time in a while… there’s some real momentum building in Queens.

But the big question is — is this sustainable, or just another short-lived run?

In this episode of Battered Mets Fans, Manny and Ronnie break down:

•  What went right in both series wins
•  Key players stepping up at the plate and on the mound
•  Adjustments that are actually working
•  The biggest reason for this hot stretch
•  And whether Mets fans should believe in this turnaround

Is this the start of something real… or are we about to get hurt again?
